Gran Hotel Stella Maris Urban Resort & Conventions

Just don't go... Old rooms, need renovation ASAP. You have the wifi signal, but don't have internet access Old elevators, dirty... Swimming pool close 18:00h. Need maintenance/cleaning... Bathroom with stains and mold For $150 a night, you still need to buy water bottles (complimentary set LOL) - 4 bottles for $5. Beer/drinks are so expensive for such place... need to carry your wallet all the time, need to pay for every order. Right in front of the beach... the only good thing.

The girl at the door made the checking process an unpleasant experience due to ridicule. However, the individuals who made it easier were Gilva, an intern, and Diogo, who was great at speaking English. Unfortunately, the hotel room was dirty, the pool smelled of urine, and the restaurant with rodízio was the most disgusting place I've ever been. While the hotel staff were friendly and the location was perfect, their attempt to cut corners resulted in a terrible experience. The pool bar lacked consistency with drinks, and we were overcharged a few times. I would never return to or recommend this place.

It’s a nice resort, but it needs a renovation. The installations are a bit old. Also it’s for families, with lots of kids around. If you’re looking for something relaxing, might not be the best option. There are lots of activities during the day near the pool, with very loud music.

I was here with my wife, we had a lovely time. During the day we enjoyed the pool area with really nice music and happy people. All people working is really nice and service minded, specially Luciano Brito. We got a lot of support and recommendations about drinks, food from him. At night we went to the restaurant and they had live music that was really good. Next year we will come back with our family. As they also have a lot of activities for children. I can highly recommend this hotel!

I spent a week with family. Got 2 rooms. Hotel People general speaking is kind. Just be careful before you book. I thought it was a resort, and it is just a hotel with nice view and swimming pool. |If you do exercise. the gym does not have water for hotel guest. So you need to pay for it. they don't have any pure water drinker over the whole hotel. each small bottle lf water will cost from 6-8 reals like 1.2 -1.6 reals. They charge you for pool towels. 5 reals per towell and you can only exchange it once, otherwise you need to pay again. Do the math before you book the hotel. The ice cream on scoop 15 reals aprox 3 dollars. the Burger container outside close to swimming pool each burger with fries 10usd aprox 50 reals. Breakfast place does not have air-conditioned over all the restaurant, only 1 once section and does not give you a cool temperature. If you do not mind to sweat while having breakfast, then it will not be a big deal for you. the lunch buffet place at the pool charge you per adult around 80 reals like 18usd per person. they have fish meat and chicken but there do not tell you when you get it. if you do not ask you will not see it on the buffet table. besides if you want to drink a coffee after eating lunch. they do not offer coffee or sell it. you need to get out and go yo other place. I never been in a restaurant in Brazil where there is no coffee. The food over all is not the best.it is better to go out and your lunch and dinner outside if you want to eat goof food. The A/C did not work but they fixed. While they were fixing the A/C from my room, over the radio from the worker I heard there were at least 3 other rooms complaining about the same A/C issue. If you like dessert one Churro cost 14-18 reals around 3usd. Don't think about bringing your own food or drinks because is not allowed unless you eat it and drink it in your room. I do not think they deserve the name of Resort. they are just a decent hotel.Rooms are ver simple but clean.The pool is very nice but is not clean.(meaning clear water where you can see the bottom/floor). Bahia Salvador is great place for vacation. Very nice beaches ,I have been in several beaches from the south and North East from Brazil and I totally recommend to visit Salvador.the weather is fantastic. No.very hot . Perhaps we were lucky. One more comment, the internet from Hotel is horrible. Don't even think about using Netflix , youtube etc and does not work over all hotel. Hope they improve the internet quality. I will be back to Salvador , but will look for other hotel or look for a real resort. my last comment is that in the swimming pool they play announcements on a on during all day for you to visit their restaurants,churros, ice cream places erc... it is annoying. Everyone that stay in the hotel can see the places while you are in the swimming pool. They keep pushing you to spend money in their hotel. Anyway. Hope this information helps you.

Traveled from America to their “Resort”. Stay away. The other reviews aren’t accurate to what I experienced. Old hotel and rooms. Everything was expensive!!! Since I was paying in USD it was still expensive! The bed sheets were the worst ever. They give you one thin bed sheet. The towels are the worst ever from like the dollar store. The adult drinks are only juice no alcohol. This isn’t a “resort” they just put the name “resort” and think they can charge whatever. I was happy to check out and never come back again. Not one positive thing and the hotel was still busy. You’re better off not traveling to this city or area if this is what they call a “resort”.

Worst resort ever, they cant even call it a resort! Its dirty and things are to old. Our door card didnt work for days, the kids indoor playground is old and dirty. The pool is not healthy for anyone. The pictures show you the hotel when it was built. This is nasty!

Easily a two star hotel. The food is ok but the pool discussing and the service is sub-par to what they claim. I’d recommend staying at the a different hotel. Not what I expected. We stayed here for one week. We don’t ever plan on staying at the Gran Hotel Stella Maris again.
