Great experience ! Excellent location right on main street. Front desk was accommodating, bathroom and all furnishings have a trendy arts and crafts vibe - room service was great, found everything to be very clean from the lobby to the room. Breakfasts were good and restaurant staff were very friendly if you engaged them. And the rooftop was awesome! We found that to be a highlight at the end of an active day - many of the hotel guests hung out at the rooftop bar listening to music, playing cards, ordering from the bar, stargazing and watching the moon come up over the mountains. Would definitely go back again!

We stay at a lot of Marriott properties and just love the Tribute and Autograph collections for their unique style and local flavor. The Grand Adirondack Hotel check-in was quick and easy and the front desk staff were pleasant and welcoming. The hotel has a unique aesthetic, fitting perfectly for the region. It's a little like a simple but well-appointed, under-stated lakeside cabin with a few higher-end touches thrown in such as luxe fixtures. We appreciated that the hotel was immaculate, and the king bed in our suite was super comfortable. Also, you can't beat the location in the heart of downtown Lake Placid. The valet parking in the back is convenient and the valet staff was super nice and efficient. Overall, we had a great stay and will return soon to the Grand Adirondack Hotel.

Excellent hotel in the middle of Main Street in Lake Placid. Booked Deluxe King Room, Sofa Bed, Lake View, High Floor. Room was nicely appointed and quiet. Lake view overlooked Main Street with Mirror Lake in the background. Valet Parking very convenient, and price competitive with parking in local parking lots. Would stay there again.

Pictures don't do this hotel by Marriott justice. The whole "great camp" feel of this hotel is awesome. The beds are very comfortable. There are no desks in the rooms, however, I found sitting on the top lobby is a great atmosphere to work from. I had the corned beef breakfast at Marcy's which was fantastic. You are right on main street. I was so happy with the Grand Adirondack I book a room for the following weekend.

We were passing through Lake Placid during the off season and stayed here overnight. The location is most central, right on Main St. where restaurants & shops are located, with a view toward Mirror Lake. ||The property, a historic 1920s-era hotel originally called the Hotel Marcy, was recently renovated, and is elegantly contemporary while retaining a throwback rustic camp charm. I love the design and aesthetics evocative of a bygone era of old world glamour and lakeside summers, and appreciated details like the color scheme and the type of bed frame and fixtures used. It’s at once nostalgic yet fresh and modern. ||Our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a king bed room (w/ sofa bed), but I believe all the rooms have a separate sitting area so it’s almost like a junior suite. Plenty of closet space. ||There is valet parking in the back (basically the parking lot behind the hotel). The staff we encountered - from the valet, to the front desk, and breakfast room staff, were all lovely and friendly. The Marcy Restaurant & the rooftop bar were still closed for the season (reopens around mid-May/June), but they did put out a Continental breakfast. ||Grand Adirondacks is part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio of hotels so you do receive Bonvoy benefits here. We loved our stay and would absolutely return when we are in Lake Placid!

I went with a group of friends to stay for a few days and explore the Lake Placid area. We really enjoyed staying here - the location is perfect for walking the main drag (which has lots of bars and restaurants to visit). ||The lobby area is gorgeous, with lots of spaces to hang out, including big comfy chairs, a couch, and even some larger tables for playing games. They have free coffee available all day too. We took a look at the downstairs bar, although this was an off week so they were not serving food (aside from a continental breakfast for additional cost) - it's a beautiful spot.||I liked my room a lot. It doesn't seem to have changed much from the previous iteration of the hotel aside from a coat of paint, but it was clean and comfy with lots of room. It had a small Keurig for coffee and a nice small refrigerator. ||The staff worked with us to get rooms near each other. Parking was good - it's valet for cars, but we had a cheaper rate for motorcycles (and doubled them up in the spots).||Overall, this place was great, especially for the location. The price varies a lot - in season it can be a bit pricey but off season it is very reasonable. Again, the best thing is the location.

I enjoy the look and feel of the hotel and rooms but practically speaking the walls are thin and the iron rod bed squeaks with any slight movement...the couch looks cool but not much support. Those are my only criticisms...the rest is all positive. The breakfast for elite Bonvoy Members is excellent and appreciated, the rooftop bar is beautiful, and there's plenty of cozy workspace around the hotel (no desk in room). You are walking distance from many places to eat and shops. All of the staff I encountered were polite and welcoming.

Google
Great location right downtown. The lake is so close, everything within a short walk. Hotel itself was nice. Service was okay. No one went above and beyond to be helpful. Food was okay, and the walls were the thinnest I've ever experienced in a hotel. But overall good hotel for the price

Yelp
The positives: Excellent staff and design elements in common areas. Location is at the center of Lake Placid. The negatives: old building means very slow elevators, took stairs most of time, thin ceilings/floors, never got hot water, ancient beds, narrow rooms, and when it rained there was a hellacious noise from the water hitting the HVAC unit.

Yelp
Our visit to this hotel was happenstance. We were driving around and decided to stop with no reservation. Interestingly the rate was a few dollars cheaper through my Bonvoy app than at the front desk. The receptionist was patient while I booked online from the lobby. We met Matt Greiner, an up and coming Olympic luge athlete. What a polite, energetic person to have as your valet! The rooms were nicely appointed; split into a bedroom and a sitting lounge. Very convenient and nicely laid out. The room was clean and bathroom spotless. The rooftop bar had a beautiful view but a lack of personality or helpfulness from the servers so we went next door to Zigzag. The downstairs bar was closed and the restaurant was dead so we ordered a pizza while sitting at Zigzag. All in all, great hotel room experience but the restaurant/bar workers lacked good hospitality practices.

Yelp
Really nice new hotel right in the middle of Lake Placid. Elevator situation is odd and it's valet parking, but not as expensive as other hotels with valet. My room was spotless and quite spacious. Not much closet space but I'll take clean anytime. Loved the hand soap. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The design is rustic and cozy. It has two attached restaurants and is in the middle of Main Street so you have lots of other options. There is a 24 hr laundromat right across the street. I was exhausted from just getting off the Northville Placid Trail and they were very accommodating when I requested an early check-in. My only complaint is noise. I was on the 4th floor with a window directly above Main Street. Street noise was kinda loud at night but the biggest issue was you could clearly hear people stomping around in the room above me. It woke me a few times. Also, the coffee machine in the room looked dirty and rusty in the water receptacle so I was hesitant to use. Overall though so was very happy with it and would return.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Decorated in mountain cabin theme. Very cozy! Staff has been accommodating and friendly. Roof top bar is a fun place with a great menu of beverages and a few noshes to order. There's a restaurant downstairs- Marcy's, named for a mountain peak close by.

Yelp
Hotel location was great. Walk outside and you are on the main drag. This made popping back to take care of our toddler a breeze! Staff was pleasant and room was clean. Elevator was so tight you could just fit a luggage cart inside. Walls are super thin, could hear conversations clear and every footstep the people above us took. Parking is valet ($20/day) unless you want your car in a municipal lot down the road however never had any issues getting our car from valet very quickly!

Yelp
Not very grand! Attended wedding in lake placid stayed at property for 2 days. Long term Marriott rewards member. At 2:30 pm room not cleaned, one robe for 2 people. Wanted to have drink in bar after wedding arrived at 10:59 told closed at 11 so no service. No manager on duty. Poor excuse for Marriott property courtyard level at best. Very dissatisfied.

Yelp
Zero access to park a car and check in -- at night you'll drive in a few circles before you figure out where to park. Registration is one floor up from street level and there is one functional elevator in the building that's approx 2'x2'. After three successive elevators ended up carrying bags up to the 4th floor. On the plus side the shower pressure was terrific but for $450 a night, the room overlooks parking lot and dumpsters. Of all the places to stay, I'm sorry I picked this hotel and will be back some other fall for another try to see Mirror Lake fall colors.

Yelp
Excellent food, unique menu options, creative cocktails the smoked vanilla creme brulee and double chocolate pudding are all made from scratch along with all of the dressings and menu items

Yelp
Food was terrible. 1 out of 4 considered their meal to be "ok" the rest didn't care for theirs.

Yelp
Neat place bar downstairs is cool, the staff is working hard and is friendly. If I ever get back up to lake placid and need a cocktail I'll stop through.

Yelp
This hotel was recently updated and the results are beautiful...on the surface. We stayed here this week and were disappointed in the quality of the rooms and the service. The room was extremely small and uncomfortable to sit in. The room safe was locked when we got there and we needed to ask for help to open it. It appeared that there was no maid service but they got around to it while we were out for dinner., The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the rooms were HOT. You can try to set the air lower, but it just comes on every half hour or so, probably their effort to save energy. If you take a shower, GO FAST because the hot water cuts out after about 5 minutes, another effort to be an environmental champion perhaps? We were looking forward to trying their restaurant but were told it would be closed for breakfast all week. We tried to check it out for dinner, but there was nobody there, so we went to the Marcy Bar for dinner instead...WHAT A MISTAKE. Waited 45 minutes to have our order taken, then another 45 minutes to get our food. It was just fish and chips! The fish was undercooked. The fries were good...so I guess I would recommend going there if you were looking for good fries and willing to waiting 90 minutes to get them. They tout a rooftop bar which we were looking forward to, but a sign said that due to circumstances beyond their control, the rooftop would be closed for 2 out the 3 days that we were there. I will credit the bartenders who worked very hard and made some fantastic cocktails, and when we did get to the rooftop, we were impressed by the beautiful panoramic view of the Adirondack mountains. Good to know...You can visit the rooftop without having to be a guest of the hotel. Maybe someday the management staff will figure out how to properly run a business like this. The physical limitations of this grand old building could be overlooked if they did.

Yelp
Dinner was great. The short rib appetizer was so good. Andrew was out server and was very attentive and provided great service. Nicely decorated and comfortable atmosphere.
