Grand Bahama Freeport Airport

FPO International Airport is a small, clean, and generally pleasant airport that’s easy to navigate and not overwhelming. The layout is simple, and the atmosphere is calm compared to larger international hubs. However, it does lack several essentials you would expect from an international airport, including more dining options, better amenities, and clearer government presence and interaction for arrivals and departures. With improved facilities and more visible, efficient government services, this airport has the potential to be much better.

The airport is very small but the line moved quickly. It's very easy travel thru and customs and immigration were very polite and friendly. Travelled with my elderly mom (93) who I would have loved if she had gotten à wheelchair on arrival. She was helped down the stairs from the plane but I had to struggle with both pieces of carry on thru immigration. She had to wait in line, standing 15+mins while I completed the landing form and processed by immigration. I only remove one start because the politeness of the workers made a good impression on me.

Note that unless Google accepts my change to the location, it may not show in the right location. It is actually located next to what is labeled as the "Freeport water tower airport." But otherwise it's small and the people are nice and the Bahama Air flights are usually delayed.

Small and cozy!! You can get delicious snacks a a beverage of your choice, in the American Gate C & D area! 🍸

Absolutely love it here! Barbary Beach, Banana Bay, The Stoned Crab, Upstairs on the Bay, Coral Beach, Pelican Bay, Garden of the Groves and much more. Love to venture out and explore Eight Mile Rock and West End too. Plan the explore the East End next time. Just a short 15 minute flight from Miami too. Enjoy the slower pace and friendly people. We'll be back soon!

Nice airport, pretty basic.

I had a fantastic experience at Grand Bahama Freeport International Airport. From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff made me feel welcome and ensured that everything went smoothly. The airport was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, making my travel experience stress-free. Security was efficient and thorough without being intrusive, and there were plenty of amenities to keep me comfortable while I waited for my flight. I especially appreciated the free Wi-Fi and the variety of dining options available. Overall, this airport exceeded my expectations and made my trip to Grand Bahama a memorable one. Highly recommended!

Pretty rough if flying Western Air. It is in it's own terminal with no facilities and bleak. Quite a walk. Luggage there arrives outside on the back of a truck ! Bring lots if cash for taxis. They dont take cards and charge 28-36+ depending where you are going. Negotiate price first Main airport is small but ok. Very remote from anything
