The 12 Best Hotels in Asheville, North Carolina - AFAR

"Evoking an Old World Bavarian hunting lodge, public spaces are moody and theatrical with antler chandeliers, opulent textiles, and even a taxidermied wild boar on display, while guest rooms and suites favor lighter, spa-like finishes with plush bedding and tub features. An on-site gallery highlights original works by local and international artists, and the location—steps from a famed Gilded Age estate—makes it a grand base for exploring nearby gardens and trails. After sustaining significant flood damage from Hurricane Helene, the property is undergoing a full renovation with a redesigned lobby, rooms, and its signature restaurant, which includes a private dining room." - Jenn Rice

Yelp
We stayed for two nights at the Grand Bohemian. It is well located for visiting the Biltmore Estate, but also has lots of stores and restaurants in walking distance. When we walked in, they offered us champagne and water bottles, which was a very pleasant welcome. We quickly got our room keys. The rooms were comfortable and a good size. They had large bath tubs with a cute window opening to the bedroom. There were very nice bath products to use with the bath. Unfortunately, my room did not have anything stating the cost of the bubble bath, so I let my kids use it for a bath, thinking it was part of the standard products. I later learned that it's $25 per bottle. Had I known the price I would have driven a mile over to Target for a $5 bottle of bubble bath. Also disappointing is that as a Titanium member I'm supposed to get a welcome gift or points. I chose points but they didn't give me any. Overall, a nice hotel but a few cautionary points.

Yelp
The hotel was beautifully decorated. Upon check in they offer water or champagne. Staff was very friendly and informative. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The bathroom was amazing with separate tub and shower along with room amenities. Their lotion/soap smelled divine. We ended up buying a bottle bc we loved it so much. Very close distance to Biltmore Estates. Many places to eat nearby. 100% recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This Grand Bohemian location is truly a memorable, hotel experience. Being so close in proximity to the world-famous Biltmore estate, the interior is evident of its' ornate design taste. If you know the Biltmore, imagine being able to stay in it's *sister cottage* for the night & that's the Grand Bohemian. It's a true North Carolina charm and every crevice of this hotel seems to have been carefully thought of. The hotel's charisma extends throughout their fine-art gallery, restaurant, staffing, and even the smaller interactions such as valet. We were diligently cared for from arrival through departure. The Grand Bohemian's commitment to elegance, paired with the appeal of Asheville, ensures a wonderful stay for any occasion. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
If you are coming to Asheville for the gorgeous scenery and historic downtown, this is not the hotel for you. Frankly, I find it overrated. It is surrounded on all four sides by streets. Our room had one small window, so we were very closed in. The bath suite had a wonderful large soaking tub, but you had to pay an additional $20 or $25 to use the bubble bath or bath salts, which only came in large bottles. There was no soap at the tub, but I eventually found a small bar in the shower. As for service, I asked at the front desk about Biltmore tickets, and I was handed a card with a QR code - I was looking for some guidance and maybe even a brochure. As for the restaurant - mediocre. Don't pay $64 for a filet mignon which was not particularly tender, nor was the bourbon demi-glace very tasty. Stay downtown at one of the high rises!

Yelp
Worst hotel experience of my entire life. Not only were the walls thin (heard loud bangs, TVs, dog barking) so no sleep but we left clothes and coats in the closet on accident and when we called a few hours after checking out they said the clothes weren't found. So their maid service stole them. They claimed they would check cameras etc but maids can just pile sheets on top of things.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite hotels! The decor is unique and eclectic and the rooms are so nicely decorated with top notch amenities. There are cocktail mixes in the rooms, local coffee and other local products to choose from. When you check in they give you a delicious glass of champagne and it truly sets the mood for a great trip. The location is close to downtown and has plenty of great restaurants close by (try Wayside or Cantina)!

Yelp
I'm the first to admit I like to be spoiled when I'm staying at a hotel. My standards are very high. What I loved about the Bohemian is that it feels like a luxury hotel without forfeiting comfort. From the valet parking to the glass of champagne offered as you are checking in you feel pampered from the beginning. I loved the big comfortable king bed and the huge soaking tub was FABULOUS! The only negative was that the hubby likes to lower the thermostat at night to refrigerator setting and he couldn't because there was a set low temperature. The staff are very accommodating. The location is perfect. There are several places to eat within walking distance as well as a restaurant on site. Great location when visiting the Biltmore Estates. This will probably be our go-to hotel when we visit the Biltmore Estates.

Yelp
Paid for an upgraded room but yet again they put us on the other side of the street where they do room service in vertically stacked 3 inch wide trays mixing everything on top of each other. You have to cross the road carrying all of your luggage on a busy street in the cold. You have to cross the street every time you want your car and it's just per crap.

Yelp
Great hotel and they actually acknowledge your Marriott status if you are a member. Always nice getting offered champagne when checking in and they were even generous to pour me a second glass. The hotel is charming and the decor fits the biltmore village vibes. Some people may think it's dark but it's just the area. I have ate here before for lunch but this time I tried breakfast. I was disappointed that they don't make the smoothie on demand and actually served me a smoothie from a container that was made a few days before. Other than that small issue which can easily be washed down with water the rest of my stay was lovely. I used the Marriott app to communicate with front desk to request service and they were very prompt at responding. With it being winter currently sit by the fireplace and enjoy a nice cocktail.

Yelp
First time staying at a Grand Bohemian and it was worth every penny. The property, conveniently located in historic Biltmore village, is easily walkable to many great restaurants, breweries and shops. The hotel property is absolutely gorgeous styled in a hunting/cabin/baroque chic style. The hotel houses the Grand Bohemian Gallery, with lots of interesting artwork local to the area. The staff encourages guests to visit the other floors to see all the unique artwork throughout the property. While you wait to check in, you're offered water or a glass of champagne... cheers! The room was immaculate! Clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was great and even better there was a huge soaking tub. High quality toiletries, too. The fitness room had free weights, a couple pulley machines, and cardio machines, to include a Peloton bike! Other perks included complimentary headphones, towels and water bottles. Loved the hotel so much, I booked a stay at the Grand Bohemian in Savannah.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Wonderful lobby. Great bar at red stag at night. The only reason for 4 stars is 1. Having to carry luggage across the street for a hotel room that was $600 a night seems a little odd. I feel at that price it should have been delivered... but the staff was great and probably would have delivered had I asked. 2. The breakfast at Red Stag was mediocre for sure. Relatively bland, service was sooo slow. 4 tables in dining room, 45 minutes to receive food. Mario, our server, was great... it was just so slow to get food... good coffee, good croissants, skip the frittata.

Yelp
It's kind of weird that I can't rate the restaurant inside the hotel. So this review is based solely on our experience at the restaurant. I really wish I could give 3.5 however based off the customer service they will get a 4! We made reservations at Red Stagg for my sisters birthday. She had been a couple times before and raves about the Filet. Valet service was great and the restaurant validates so you don't have to pay for parking. The lobby area is nice and cozy and the fire place is a nice touch. Our server Andrea was nice and attentive until our meals arrived. I'll get to that. We had the calamari as an appetizer-amazing! It was hot and lightly breaded and we really enjoyed it. My sister and I shared the Appalachian salad which had blue cheese and toasted pecans-so good! The dressing was light and added a nice touch. Our experience went downhill from there. Head on over to @sherritripsandsips on IG to read the rest. I will say that I will go back based off the appetizer, drink, salad and the amazing customer service by Austin who is a part of the management team there. We had a great conversation and he was able to appreciate my love for food! Austin keep up the great work! I'm looking forward to them getting 5 stars the next time I return!

Yelp
From the moment you pull your car up to valet the experience is breathtaking! You truly feel like Royalty!

Yelp
What a fun funky place. Sometimes it leans a little much to style over substance, but overall it made for an enjoyable stay. Love the purple velvet curtain car entry and valet space. The guys at valet were always on top of things and helpful. Lobby has its hunting lodge bordello charm. Excellent bar. Decent restaurant, but that's another review. Smallish standard king room. a couple chairs in a small sitting area, a few drawers and a small closet. Bed quite comfortable, and wooden shutters can be closed tightly for a dark room. Curtains on a window into the bath and curtains for the bath door itself. Some may find this charming. I think it's silly. At least the curtains were heavy, so they still allowed for some privacy. Fabulous water pressure. Water was a little too soft, but the pressure still got most of the soap off. TV is fixed tightly to the wall. No way to watch anything streaming, on the TV service nor via Chromecast. Points off there. Seriously guys. Would we stay there again. Maybe.

Yelp
Cool location and atmosphere. The lobby at night gets packed and loud due to the restaurant attached to the hotel. Amazing rooms. Super comfortable bed. The hallways are quiet and your own personal art show. I will definitely stay here again. The champagne at check in is a nice added touch. I did not get pictures of the room but I will tell you they are better than the pictures you view when making the reservation online.

Yelp
A great first time visit to an Autographed Collection by Marriott. It balances luxury with a warm cozy atmosphere. As soon as you arrive in the lobby, you see a beautiful fireplace in a luxury lodge atmosphere. You are welcomed with a a glass of champagne as you sit down with your personal concierge to check in. The hotel offers private transportation within 5 miles if you want to explore downtown or visit other restaurants. I will seek out other Autograph Collections properties by Marriott since this was such a pleasant experience.

Chantel G.

Yelp
Wow absolutely beautiful. We only enjoyed dinner. My steak was great and my partner loved the grouper. Very pricy. You pay for the atmosphere because right across the street the food is way better.

Yelp
Terrific service at the Grand Bohemian Hotel! Concierge referred us to several wonderful restaurants. The chief engineer Randy, came up to our room just to measure something for us. The waffles, omelets, and other breakfast foods were delicious. My husband raved over "the best pork chop he had ever eaten". Definitely enjoyed our stay in Asheville.

Yelp
How could you not give Grand Bohemian in Asheville a 5 Star rating?? If for nothing more than the eclectic beauty of the hotel, this is one of the more bizarre but beautiful places I've ever stayed! The hotel is supposed to be modeled after George Vanderbilt's hunting lodge which is loaded with wild game and hand carved furniture! The rooms are rustic in nature, but beautifully decorated and furnished! Make no mistake about it, this is a high end boutique hotel with fine furnishings and excellent service from the staff! This place typically runs in the $400+ per night range, but thankfully my Gov't Rate got me a $122 rate which made me absorb the moment even more! I appreciate the moment and soaked in an incredible moment! I'm a Marriott snob, appreciate the nicer accommodations, and look forward to possibly returning to Grand Bohemian some day!

Yelp
As we entered the lobby, we were amazed over the decorated antique furniture and art collection. There were not just one culture collection of art, but many that included Chinese chairs that were hand-carved. And from our discussion with the lobby manager, we were told that the columns in the lobby are originally from a palace in India. The hotel has a rustic ambience with modern luxury accommodations in a boutique art hotel. The bar area is exquisite which is adjacent to a private dining room presumably for private parties or meetings. For the price, it is worth to lodge and enjoy this unique hotel that provides intimate comfort while situated in the shopping Village of Ashville.

Yelp
Fantastic! I loved my stay and the staff was terrific, including valet attendants. Check-in was easy. They have on-site bar/restaurant with limited room service menu. I got the Chef Burger, which I don't really recommend. The bacon and cheese on the burger were very good, I'll give it that. Next time, I would go eat in the restaurant instead because they had a full menu including prix fixe. My room was very comfortable and spacious. I wish I could have stayed longer! I got a nice gift from the general manager bc of my hotel status. Thank you for being thoughtful and welcoming! The decorations and architecture are unique (antlers lol) and there are lots of on-site features like an art gallery and a spa (by appointment). I didn't have time to check out everything. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
I think this is the best hotel in Asheville. Very interesting artwork everywhere in the hotel. Great location. Nice rooms. Great breakfast the the restaurant. Really nice valet staff.

Yelp
Best birthday celebration for the husband. We could've stayed in and never left the beautiful grounds this long weekend. The Red Stag was superb amongst 5 star dining establishments and drinks divine. The spa was small and cozy. Room was fantastic w the large tub for 2 w bath salts. Definitely will come back. Extremely convenient as Biltmore was across the street and tons of shops nearby.

Yelp
Very cool place to stay, especially if the Biltmore Estate is part of your travel plans. The hotel is quite literally across the street from the entrance. Valet was easy, and the lobby is a very distinctive environment that definitely represents the "bohemian" in the hotel's name. (A friend who lives in Asheville told me they refer to the hotel as "the brothel" because of the decor.) Check-in was very capable and friendly. I had a corner room, which was large and very comfortable. Like other Kessler hotels, it had a deep soaking tub and a very comfortable bed. There were shutters instead of blackout shades; they worked OK but weren't quite as effective as blackout drapes. My room overlooked a busy intersection and some street noise did come in, especially when large trucks went by early in the morning. There was also no mini-fridge in the room. I don't know if this is a COVID thing or if they aren't normally in the rooms. I enjoyed the restaurant and bar, and the hallways of the hotel are filled with interesting artwork and sculptures, many of which are set back in mosaic-wall alcoves.
google avatar

Donyelle D.

Yelp
We had a magical weekend at this hotel. We stayed in the beautiful corner suite. We came to Ashville for my fiancée's birthday, which turned into an engagement. :) David and Becky accommodated all of my requests to make the stay feel extra special with amenities in the room and special touches at Red Stag. I love the unique decor. So many beautiful paintings and creative decor. I loved every minute. This will be our special place from here on out.

Yelp
The Grand Bohemian is the premier hotel in Asheville. The fact that it's in the Marriott network is an added, and much welcomed bonus. One of the most important factors I consider when assessing a hotel is the overall value. I like staying at the Grand Bohemian on weekends during the off season and when no events are in town. You'll find an exceptional room during those times for around $200/night, and maybe even less. The value proposition is a little upside down when rooms get into the $600 range, which they frequently do. The Grand Bohemian has the most bizarre valet parking instructions I've ever heard: "drive into the velvet curtains." Seriously? Is this like The Lion, the Witch, and the Grand Bohemian? Am I about to drive my truck into Narnia? Does my auto insurance policy cover Narnia? Needless to say, the instructions sounded completely ridiculous, until we arrived and I saw the big purple velvet curtain. It may not be Narnia, but crossing that threshold means you are officially in the care of the Grand Bohemian, and that is otherworldly enough. Walking into the Lobby of the Grand Bohemian is like stepping back in time into a luxurious hunting lodge. The massive fireplace dominates the center of the room and guests can be seen lounging around drinking wine, taking photos, and playing chess. I found myself drawn to this room throughout the weekend because it really is special, and a focal point of the hotel. The bar is just off the lobby and the bartenders are very friendly, ready to make you a stiff drink, and all too eager to make genuine inquiries into your plans in town and make a few recommendations of their own. One of the gentlemen recommended Chestnut, which became our dinner destination for the evening, and was fantastic. Definitely stop by for the local bard. The bar has great food itself and we found ourselves having snacks there on a couple of occasions while pre gaming for a night out or coming back for a nightcap. The rooms were as great as what you would expect. As I state in most hotel reviews, I really only require a comfortable bed and decent water pressure. The Grand Bohemian obviously excels in both of those categories and so much more (see photos). The hotel is within walking distance to everything in Biltmore Village, to include one of my favorite cigar bars (Casablanca). If you're making plans for a special weekend in Asheville, The Grand Bohemian has to be on your list of possibilities, especially if you're a Marriott member. Very few hotels actually qualify as special in my mind, but the Grand Bohemian certainly does.

Yelp
This hotel describes the rooms as all having the same amenities, they don't. They boast large rooms and tubs but they don't have that in every space. I couldn't open the closet door because it was too close to the bed. We didn't have a tub AND it was right next to elevator. I went for Valentine's Day weekend 2021, but that was a mistake. The hotel's 'make good' for lying On the description of the room that almost ruined our weekend, was waiving the parking fee and offering the overpriced bottle of wine in the room. I'm assuming this happens often as the front desk immediately "took care of that. " We carried our luggage across the street ourselves rather than wait another Minute in that room for bell service . Instead of empty apologies, maybe just stop lying about the room description. Just a thought...
google avatar

Yelp
Before I provide a review I want to indicate that we did not stay at the hotel as guests nor did we eat at the restaurant. We happen to be in Asheville on vacation and it was raining quite hard that day. We decided to duck into the hotel to check it out as the exterior seem very interesting. We were pleasantly surprised at the different items that were on display in the intricacy of the woodwork. I happen to mention something to the gentleman at the front desk and he told me that it used to be a gas station. That absolutely blows me away as I was positive it was a former church just based on the interior. He gave us about 8 printed pages of the interior items - the back story, what it meant, etc. We greatly appreciated the ability to learn more about the hotel!

Yelp
Great hotel, we enjoyed our stay here! Valet staff were awesome! They had great suggestions on trails and restaurants! Amazing food at The Red Stag!

Yelp
If you tried to tell me I would ever begrudgingly agree to stay anywhere but Grove Park, let alone PREFER it, I would have fought you, but here we are. After driving past this place a million times, and finding GPI heavily booked and heavily pricey, we decided to stay here for a long weekend. I love it. I love it so much. I love everything about it. The bathrooms are exquisite - those tubs! - and the toiletries are among my favorites, superseded only by Virgin Hotels. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, and the lobby is just about the most relaxing place ever. Definitely hid from my family and spent most of the weekend reading in front of the fire. Also, my five-year-old son left his beloved teddy bear behind when we left, and not only did housekeeping find it and set it aside, but the front desk mailed it back to us. So appreciated.

Yelp
Excellence from the moment you walk into the reception area with a huge fireplace and ornate decor , the champagne served at check in, to the fantastic rooms and excellent on-site restaurant. This property exudes perfection. Positioned at one of the entrances of The Baltimore Estate and is perfectly positioned to give easy access to everything Asheville has to offer.
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
Haven't been to the actual hotel yet but the phone reservation help is HORRIBLE. Long wait times and rude customer service. How is this considered a 4 star (some consider 5) luxury property? Huge hassle to extend stay and upgrade. Please get rid of your automated phone service and start servicing for this property DIRECTLY with your staff. Clearly this is through Marriot call center, not with Grand Bohemian and the level of service shows.

Angela N.

Yelp
So happy I booked this hotel and not the other stuffy hotel that was of comparable price. I arrived very late (after 2:00 am) and was given the last room in the hotel near the elevators on the 2nd floor. I asked to be moved the next day and was pleasantly surprised - I was given a large king room/suite on the top floor. Bed is very comfortable, room is clean & the soundtrack playing is a nice touch. Great location in Biltmore Village and walking distance to shops, Starbucks, etc. The front desk staff and valet are extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. I have not spent much time in the hotel but have checked the bar/restaurant when I arrive/leave and it's a ghost town. It is unfortunate that the bar doesn't match the decor/ambience. The hotel has a very cool vibe to it so I assumed it would be a fun place to hang out, but I've only witnessed older couples in there or an empty bar at 11:00 pm. Would absolutely come back and stay, again.

Yelp
A long overdue post, but the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville was incredible! I was visiting my sisters living in North Carolina from Los Angeles and was looking for a perfect weekend getaway to spend together. This boutique hotel is surely a premium experience, truly one of a kind with its upscale lodge-style decor located in the heart of downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. My sisters and I enjoyed the Red Stag Grille for dinner. Highly recommend the tasting menu each with their own wine pairing. My first time trying elk and I don't think I'd get it anywhere but here! The next morning we were steps from downtown and enjoyed the local cafes for breakfast and shopping at the boutiques (including Lululemon, my favorite!). This location was 100% compliant with local and state COVID regulations. The rooms were clean, the staff and guests were wearing masks, and everyone was socially distanced. I can't wait to come back! Hopefully this spring! I give it five stars.

Yelp
The autograph selection is a high end Marriott brand, just below the Ritz IMHO. One is being built very similar in our hometown of Greenville so we were excited to check this one out. Location is right across from the Biltmore Estate entrance so location was superb. When you check in you pull into a large open courtyard off of Boston Way, the Bohemian feel had started. I used my Marriott Rewards status, the fact that it was a special occasion and a polite request to get upgraded with a very nice suite. Despite the nice room, they couldn't hit their guaranteed check in time of 4 pm. The rooms and common areas all had original artwork. There were at least 3 large oil paintings in our suite. Some of the other artwork I photographed. The lobby is spectacular with a lot of dark wood and a hunting lodge kind of feel to it. We didn't use the dining facilities but did have a bottle of champagne after we returned from the Biltmore Estate. We had requested it be brought at 9 before we left for dinner. When we returned at 858, it wasn't there. A call to the front desk got it there in 5 minutes, but it hadn't been pre-chilled. Some small nicks in the armor, but when you pay that kind of money, all should be top notch...

Yelp
This is a luxury hotel, and it is by definition not inexpensive, but it is worth the price, imo. I picked this place after reading through all the Yelp reviews, and I picked it almost as much for the negative reviews as the positive ones. The relatively few negative reviews seemed like isolated situations, or were the results of someone not doing their homework about the hotel, what it is, what it is not, and where it is located. The location is excellent if a visit to Biltmore is on your agenda, or if you are content to dine at the Red Stag Grill (which is excellent, but that's a separate review) - otherwise it has less to offer than some other hotels. The traffic is always very busy, and most of the better eating places are in the downtown area, 2+ miles away. The manner in which the front entrance is setup (it is enclosed, rather small, with narrow entrance and exit points) makes it a bit of a nightmare to loan and unload if they are busy. This is somewhat off set by the excellent job the valet parking and bell personnel do. The interior of the hotel lobby area is an interesting mixture of hunting lodge decor (stuffed animal heads, large open fire place) and an art gallery - paintings all over the place, every floor, every room. These paintings are for sale, and run into the low to medium 4 figure range - we passed. The rooms are very nicely appointed, the beds and pillows soft and comfortable. The bathrooms are large, the shower is massive, and the shower head moves water at an incredible rate. They now have opaque doors in the area that encloses the commode - so those concerns have been addressed - at least in the main hotel building - not sure about the Manor Building across the street where the rooms with spa tubs are. They added the Manor House as a separate building because there is a city ordinance about buildings not being taller than a church in Asheville - that's what I was told anyway - obviously came into play after Biltmore was completed. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and we came away impressed with the very professional nature of the hotel staff - and their tact in dealing with a variety of nut jobs - not us, of course!

Yelp
great hotel! the only thing, i was a little surprised that there weren't any locks on the bathroom doors in the hotel room. other than that, everything was 10/10

Yelp
This was by far one of my best hotel experiences. From check in until checkout, we were treated so wonderfully! The restaurant is amazing and everyone we came in contact with went above and beyond. We hated to leave and will definitely return. I have not one complaint! We had dinner there one night and breakfast both mornings. Our room was so clean and comfortable and we had no issues with noise. Impeccable service!

Yelp
Such a beautiful place! I went here to meet my Uncle for lunch and was just blown away at everything I saw. So, I haven't stayed here but I've dined. The bar reminds me of the carousel bar in New Orleans. It's just something new to look at every where you turn. The bar have seasonal specials and use local vendors, which is a huge plus for me. I had the chef's burger and it was to die for plus show string fries that I couldn't get enough of. My uncle and his girlfriend had two different soups and shared friend green tomatoes. Everything was beautifully plated. If you can, grab the big red chairs and hang out at night. Grab some fancy drinks and some delicious foods.

Yelp
This is an autographic edition Marriott hotel. We have stayed at many. This one may be in the lower rung. They charge for everything including the wifi and for parking nearly $40, The wait for a car is sometimes 15 minutes since they line uptown the block during busy hours. Save the money and time and park the car yourself The rooms are dark. One standout was the gym which was excellent. It has a beautiful view of Ashville.

Great experience! The hotel rooms were absolutely beautiful and the city was also refreshing. I can't wait to return.

Yelp
I need more stars for this place... If your bored with normal hotels stay here!!! The ambience is amazingly sexy for couples... The staff is impeccable and we stayed in a suite that was beyond our expectations

Yelp
This is truly a beautiful hotel. The name Bohemian is also an apt description of the interior- it is not your run of the mill chain hotel. Beautiful art, unusual fixtures are everywhere. A part of Biltmore Village, at the main gate entrance to Biltmore Estate, the hotel is a convenient location for visiting the Estate and nearby Asheville attractions. The interior decor of the lobby and restaurant area is supposed to resemble a fine rustic hunting lodge in a Bohemian sort of way, with a beautiful central fireplace roaring away. I was planning on staying at one of the luxury hotels on Biltmore Estate property which are extremely pricey I thought. On a whim, I decided to check Priceline and placed a low-ball bid for a 4 1/2 star hotel. To my shock and surprise, it was accepted and that's how I ended up here for a short 2 day vacation. The room was a real bargain but extras, as could be expected, were 4 1/2 star priced. Valet parking is $24 per night. The restaurant which I did not try is highly rated on YELP but I did try room service for breakfast which was excellent. There are many fine restaurants specializing in breakfast in Asheville. I decided to enjoy the luxury of breakfast in bed to make an early start at touring the nearby Biltmore and the room service breakfast prices looked very competitive compared to outside restaurants. I was, however, somewhat surprised at checkout to find taxes, service charges and fees added about 50% to the room service menu prices in addition to the voluntary tip. A beautiful view out the window toward the blooming tulips at the main entrance of Biltmore, a supremely comfortable bed, and immaculate bathroom facilities made this a truly luxurious place to stay. Staff were very, very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Asheville.

Yelp
Came here for a work meeting and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were all updated and cozy. The service was friendly. The location seemed central. The food at their one restaurant was outstanding (and we ate there 3 times in a row for lunch). The boardroom was a little tight where we had our meeting but no biggie. Overall, if I were to come back to Asheville, I would stay here again and bonus it is an Autograph collection property. #bonvoy

Booked The Grand Bohemian in Asheville with the greatest of expectations to celebrate 49 years of our wonderful marriage expecting to enjoy what we heard was a great place to stay. Having traveled all over the world and an executive in the services industry, I have seen how a great hotel can reach out to make the experience one to remember. Unfortunately, our 2-night stay was memorable, but not in a positive manner. I called in advance seeking recommendations for how to make this a weekend to remember - especially given my wife's poor physical health. Each request was met with zero assistance, both on the phone and when I showed up at the check in desk. Discovered day 2 while in the lobby upon arrival guests receive a choice of either champagne or hot apple cider. This was not offered to us. When I asked at your restaurant for reservation inside the hotel, we were essentially brushed off and told both Friday and Saturday nights had zero availability for dinner. Thankfully we had 2 great dinners at other outstanding restaurants already reviewed. When we returned to the hotel the first night at 9 PM, the second at 8:30 PM to have adult beverages, there was no place for us to sit. Most interactions were quite curt. While the room was clean, I must say it was considerably less than what we expected. I called and explained the purpose of the weekend in establishing a great weekend and felt that a mid-priced hotel would have been a better choice. On Saturday there was a wedding party on our floor (4th). While a wedding is a blessing, the noise in the hall was pretty loud well beyond 10:30 PM - the music and hallway noise. The noise in the hallway prevented us for going to sleep. Even when checking out, customer service still lacked. I called the front desk have my bill ready. The woman who answered first told me due to COVID they don't slip bills under the door any longer, not the question I asked, but begrudgingly said it would be available when I got there in 15 minutes. When I went down to the desk, there were 4 young ladies behind the desk in deep conversation and when I asked for the bill requested, they had to look it up, then took their time to retrieve it. On the positive side, the young men working in the parking valet were very pleasant, helpful, and punctual. Even when busy they were attentive to our needs and offered a very pleasant experience. Beyond the hotel the rest of our visit was great. My prior trips to Asheville had us at the Grove Park Inn who were so much more attentive to our needs and the staff provided an experience which was far superior to this trip. As the CEO of a company which works with organizations to bring Customer Experience Management to them; this experience was so disappointing. I did sent an email to the leadership at the hotel chain corporate site, told them upon receiving a call from the President I was not looking for compensation, but wanted to let them know of the disappointment. They gave back half of the points used. One comment made by this executive hit hard - blaming COVID on the issues. Thought they would be interested in getting to know customer disappointment, assume the return of points, were to close the issue.

Yelp
This beautiful is a beautiful property. We were greeted by one of the nicest and efficient Valet services ever. Rhiannon was a delight and n getting us settled into our room. Carmen at the area Stag made each night fun and Cam was absolutely wonderful each morning at breakfast. Our room was absolutely stunning and very well cared for by housekeeping staff. We had a couple of issues that were beautifully dealt with by the GM. We loved our time spent in this lovely hunting lodge.

Yelp
Very clean and comfortable hotel. The rooms are very nice with a huge bathroom and big tub. The lobby and restaurant area is very cool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location. Right outside of biltmore entrance. Starbucks and boutiques and village right behind it. Check times when shops are open bc of COVID. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We just returned from three days at the Grand Bohemian and we loved every minute of our stay. The staff was attentive, warm, and personable from the moment we arrived until our departure. They spoiled us with the care they showed us, even to offer us bottles of water as we started on our way home. They were a wealth of knowledge and offered several great recommendations for activities and dining, and always inquired about our adventures on our return. The room (located across the street (in the 'Manor House' I believe they referred to it) was beautifully appointed with a large soaking tub located between the bathroom and the bedroom. The bed was luxurious and amazingly comfortable. I would have a hard time staying at a different property when we return to the area. The only thing I would caution is to ask if you're going to be staying across the street - it's literally just a crosswalk away - but if you would have an issue with that, make sure you know in advance or ensure that your room is in the main building.

Yelp
Literally the worst customer service and this is a 5 star stay?!!! No amenities in the rooms. No towels when we arrived. Do not think about ordering room service during covid; you need to go pick this up yourself. Covid you say? Me leaving the room to pick up the food is the exact same contact as someone delivering. Just saying get it together please

Yelp
We stayed at the Grand Bohemian 5 years ago. It was lovely and thought of it first when planning this trip. Nothing is more aggravating to me then bate and switch. I reserved a king bed way in advance. Upon arrival we get checked in and went to our room only to find out we had two queen beds. Yes the manager offered a reduction of our rate but..... I was willing to pay for what I reserved. The second night of our stay our room keys were cancelled. We had to wait for someone to bring new keys.
