We truly enjoyed our New Year’s Eve stay! Mr. Patterson went above and beyond, assisting with booking and even had a hand written thank you card in our room. From the moment we arrived, valet was quick, helpful, and incredibly kind. Check-in was seamless and got us settled in quickly!! Our room was perfect: a super comfortable bed with just the right amount of fluffy pillows, and the real standout was the spacious, luxurious shower—especially paired with the plush bathrobes. It definitely elevated the experience. We did visit The Habitat, and while we completely understood the limited menu due to New Year’s Eve, the service was disappointing. Despite having three to four bartenders and the space not being fully seated, there were long waits between drinks, and the bartenders’ attitudes were unsavory at best.

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, we were impressed by the valet team. The valet manager, Kevin greeted us personally, and his friendly and helpful attitude immediately set the tone for our stay. You can clearly see the pride he takes in his work and in his team—they were polite, professional and well-trained. Having such a smooth and welcoming first impression truly elevated our stay.||The front desk staff made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the lobby--friendly, accommodating, and always smiling. Our room was clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for better service or cleaner accommodations!||Equally memorable was our time in the restaurant at breakfast. Jillian took wonderful care of us each morning. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Her cheerful service was the perfect start to our day! The chef-designed breakfast menu is amazing, featuring classic Southern breakfast options, delicious blueberry pancakes, and seasonal selections. ||We didn't encounter a staff member at this hotel who was any but great (Which is rare compared to experiences we've had at other hotels) we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Birmingham!

My husband and I traveled to Birmingham after having won gift cards during a charity auction after Hurricane Helene decimated Western North Carolina. We knew that Birmingham had a bustling food scene and it did not disappoint! We are Marriott members and stayed at the Grand Bohemian. We loved the location! It was easy to get downtown and we were easily able to walk to the Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. Since we were there in December, nothing was crowded and we enjoyed peaceful, fun walks. The hotel is also well situated next to the Mountainbrook shops. As for the hotel, the staff is by far the friendliest and most helpful staff we have met during our many, many hotel stays. Management should know what gems they have in their staff! Aubrey registered us. Always smiling and helpful! Bodi was delightful and remembered us every day. They were both REMARKABLE!! Faith and Carson were also friendly and helpful. The valet team always had a smile and a kind word. I loved the Art Gallery and Candiss was so helpful in picking out a painted tile. Again, pleasant and smiling and conversant! I went to the 3rd floor to sit and use my computer yesterday and Sandreen was the hostess for the restaurant. We chatted. Another lovely individual! You do not see this kind of universally friendly service in most hotels. The rooms were clean and spacious. Truly, they could be a bit updated. Few rooms have a view- we looked out on the parking lot. That would be my biggest criticism. And for the morning coffee service , real milk choices, rather than little creamers, would have been appreciated. We loved Birmingham. It is a city with much historical significance. The Grand Bohemian is a great place to stay if you visit.

Google
This is my favorite hotel. Everyone from valet to housekeeping reminds me of pre Covid service. Bodi at the front desk makes me feel so welcome and remembers all the repeat guests by name (I don’t know how he does it!). Really, the level of hospitality is remarkable. I travel all over the world and this property is on par with the best Ritz Carlton’s. I would not stay anywhere else in Birmingham.

Nicely located full-service hotel in Mountain Brook, AL; a rather fashionable area of Birmingham. Very hot during my stay; the AC in the room worked perfectly. Daily turndown service and room cleaning expertly performed each of my 3 night stays. I ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel; great food and service. There is a swimming pool but despite the heat it didn't look too appetizing; and I never saw anyone using it. Comfortable bed, good TV and WiFi. Bathroom worked well (toilet, sink and shower room). Well appointed rooms. Spacious rooms. Nice rooftop bar. Parking can be tight at times, but they do offer valet service if you need it. Bottled water provided in the room each day or you can ask for a bottle at the front desk when returning to the hotel in the afternoon. Rooms do have a small beverage fridge. Overall a very pleasant stay. Rooms are pricy but in this case you DO get what you paid for. Also the hotel is adjacent to a lot of brand new, walkable retail shops; a few restaurants, ice cream shop and small supermarket. So once you return to the hotel prior to dinner time you can park/forget the car and either eat at the hotel or take a 10 minute walk in a safe area to try something different. You can check out the neighborhood on Google Earth and you'll see what I mean.

Google
EXCELLENT HOTEL! Everyone - valet, front desk, housekeeping were so very friendly. The rooms are very clean, warm, cozy. The rooftop bar was a great place to grab a drink before dinner. It's also in an excellent location. I will definitely stay here again. Everything is 100!

The hotel was beautiful. Getting to the hotel was easy, but a bit out of the way. However, surrounding it were lots of shops and places to visit. Parking was not easy as they do not offer complimentary parking like the website says; it’s public parking out front. They do offer Valet, but I hate waiting for my car. Check-in was simple and fast. The room was very comfortable and one of the best showers I’ve had at a hotel. The gym was small, but fully equipped. They had water and ice stations on the floors which is nice. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Google
Absolutely flawless stay at the Grand Bohemian Hotel! We recently visited for the Porsche Track Experience event, and from start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The hotel itself is stunning — our room was beautifully designed, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The Front Desk staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, greeting us with genuine warmth and professionalism. Every interaction reflected true hospitality. The atmosphere throughout the property is unmatched — from the inviting scent in the lobby to the immaculate cleanliness in every space, you can tell great care is taken to ensure guests have a memorable experience. Service was prompt, attentive, and never intrusive. This is exactly how a luxury hotel should operate. We will absolutely return and recommend the Grand Bohemian to anyone visiting Birmingham.

Yelp
This hotel and it staff supersedes your expectations. The lobby smells amazing. The food is spectacular and the rooms are exactly what you need to transport you into rest and ease, while keeping the vibe, light and artsy.

Yelp
Went here for a bday brunch and the selection for the four course meal was just okay to me. I wish we had left so we could have more selections and not a set menu. I had a burger without the egg and it was good. The shared items were just okay. 58 dollars later; don't have to do that again. The server was ok with not much personality.

Yelp
My company hosted a conference here, and the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook was truly exceptional. The staff were outstanding, friendly and the food was delicious. It was truly one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in! The teaching kitchen also provided a wonderful experience for a team-building experience for me and my coworkers, and the homemade pasta we made (under Chef's supervision) was fantastic. The hotel rooms are luxurious, and the hotel's location could not have been better - walking distance to the botanical garden, Birmingham Zoo, fantastic restaurants, and hangout spots. I seriously opened Zillow to check out the local real estate because I could picture moving to this neighborhood! The only room for suggestion the Grand Bohemian may want to consider is that they are very short-staffed for the overnight crew. My arrival flight was delayed, and there was only one person at the front desk, who also was on call to do all the things. Hiring is still tough post-pandemic, but that staffer needs a buddy to work the night shift!

Yelp
This is a stunning hotel nestled in Mountain Brook, AL. The staff was welcoming, kind and accommodating. Gorgeous artwork gracing all areas. Loved my stay there albeit just one night. Would definitely return and recommend. My favorite hotel ever.

Yelp
I want to ignore the hotel for the moment and focus on something benign and overlooked. Room service. If you are ordering room service food, you are admittedly tired, ready to be solitary and hungry. I did this with intent of being fed and no longer hungry but I did not expect culinary greatness when I ordered today. However, I experienced a shockingly good meal in one of the best hamburgers ive had in my life. And I'm an In N Out devotee and retired executive chef with Michelin experience. But let me tell you, do NOT sleep on the burger at the Grand Bohemian. It's elite.

Yelp
Nice area, great and beautiful inside, excellent cleaning, very kind and wonderful staff, terrible management. The staff was very pleasant and kind especially Cara and Shabora who worked this morning at 7am for breakfast buffet at the Hotel Restaurant. The front desk African America female clerk when we checked in on Friday June 23rd at 8pm was extremely pleasant as well. It's a shame this property simple isn't well managed in my opinion. Now I only stayed the one night, but I'm a marriot junkie and I also work at a hotel/casino. There are clear signs of incredible mismanagement. The hotel desk clerk was working all on her own for hours all night: delivering items to guests rooms, answering phone calls, dealing with rude guests, and fixing problems all on her own with no help in sight. This should never happen. It's up to upper and mid management levels to ensure the integrity of the business with sufficient resources including human capital. The restaurant stated it would open at 7am, and it even allows you to make reservations online on open table. I don't know if the restaurant has integrated the app fully into their system, but if they haven't then they shouldn't have the restaurant listed in the app in the first place. The restaurant wasn't open and ready at 7am. That's a huge nope. Always be on time for guests. Timing is everything. That's not in the employees; that's on management. Employees need to either be scheduled to clock in earlier, given more help to get ready, or review their processes so that managers can assist them. Very excellent aesthetics, but overall a mediocre performance imo and needs vast improvement on the performance of the management team and working with their employees so that a smooth stay for guests happens. There were times I would see guests waiting long periods of time at the front desk and no one was there because the line clerk had to fix problems for some other guest somewhere else. Same with the phone jt was ringing off the hook and no one was their to answer that. She desperately needed help and shouldn't be forced into this. Ad situation.

Yelp
Quiet village for relaxing and celebrating graduation. This proud mom pleased to park car and enjoy the attached gallery, pool, restaurant and cooking school. Easy walk to green wise grocery, Santos coffee, Jeni's splendid ice creams and more.

Yelp
Top notch service. Even gave our little ones stuffed animals when we arrived. Really enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
This really is a beautiful hotel with wonderful art. My issue is value for the dollar. A $600.00 room was very ordinary. Quite small, with a view of the road, just nothing special enough to merit the cost.

Yelp
This hotel was recommended from our Marriott Bonvoy agent. Our initial impression was positive. Yolanda greeted us with a smile and accommodated requests for our room along with the additional friends and family who had rooms at the hotel. Valet was friendly and efficient. Our first meal at the restaurant turned out to be our last and only for the duration of our stay. We initially visited the restaurant and met a friendly hostess who provided us with two menus to review. We observed a man in a suit standing directly next to us who had a scowl on his face and never greeted us or anyone nearby. Later when we returned for dinner we approached the host stand we observed this same man, Luis Jimenez. He did not smile or greet us. As we inquired if our party of hotel guests could be seated earlier than our initial reservation, he repeated the reservation time and told us to go to the bar. He made sure to tell us how long of a day he had been working, he was unhappy to be working on Christmas! The dining room was under 50% occupied. My guests and I were shocked at the unprofessionalism and outward rude behavior of Mr. Jimenez. He continued to be rude and unprofessional throughout our meal. We and our additional family members never returned to eat at the hotel for the duration of the week. We have come to expect a certain level of service from Marriott Bonvoy properties. This was a fail.

Yelp
Sooooo nice. Loved it!!! We had a great experience with our family and will certainly be back. No complaints.

Yelp
The room itself is absolutely beautiful. However, the staff isn't the nicest. I got charged for a bottle of wine that I didn't even have. I called to get my money back and the guy was so rude. He said yea it's the bottle of wine you drank. I said no sir I didn't have any wine. He got mad and said they would refund my money back and then hung up me. Very rude.
