Grand Café Hotel Zeezicht

Lovely clean room, great decor and good location. Easy to get via public transport from airport. The staff were very friendly too. No complaints from me.

Horrible welcome. Not adapted at all for cyclists (no place for parking and store the bike in good conditions, no shelter against rain at minimum), no flexibility. Only breakfast is correct. Important to know : not sure to find somewhere to eat in the vicinity (restaurant can be closed). To run away from this place as hotel management won’t help you.

A 100% recommended place. The part of the hotel I have no complaint, I was in 2 different rooms and both was fine. Clean and tidy when I arrived every afternoon. And the views of both were very good of the port. On the restaurant side, I can only say incredible. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes and they were all of the highest quality, both in presentation and taste. The meat is always ready and juicy fish.q As for the staff, I only have words of thanks to them. At the reception always friendly and attentive, as well as in the restaurant. I've been for work, but I keep it to visit on my own.

Stopped by for a cold drink and some air conditioning during the tall ship festival. There were plenty of seats available inside, which was perfect. But they seemed to be very short-staffed and our simple order of 4 drinks and 3 desserts took ages. Don't visit here if you're in a hurry! Luckily we weren't, so we had extra time to enjoy the fun views of the canal and bridges that had lots of boat traffic moving through.

Big, big thanks to caring, competent and understanding Selina at Hôtel Zeezicht who sorted everything admirably. Selina deserves Six Stars. (René was considerably less enthusiastic about helping.) Harlingen is a delightful town, rich in history, restaurants, bicycles, cafés, flowers and lovely people. Thank you from Nick and Hilary.

We had dinner here one night and we were running a little late. But I think, once you let customers into your restaurant and allow them to order dinner, you ought to let the eat in peace. I had the vegetarian ravioli with spinach and ricotta. Quite bland but okay with some extra salt and pepper. I asked for a house salad on the side, but was told this was not possible. I found this strange as my partner ordered the seafood plateau and automatically received a salad on the side. ||We were staying as guests at the sister hotel down the street at the time, and in the room there was an offer of a free bottle of wine with an à la carte dinner. We asked for this at the restaurant, and fortunately we had taken a picture of the offer to show, because the waiters had never heard of such a thing. ||Finally, the food was good, it is a very nice place to sit with nice decor and view of the harbour. Location is great. But in the end this is not enough to make a great restaurant. You also need the good staff and the friendly welcome or guests will go somewhere else in future.

We stayed here in the second half of January 2020. The staff was friendly, helpful and they were attentive to customers in the reading area. Our room was somewhat small, but that is very normal in older European hotels, and not an issue for us at all. We slept really well. :-)||We spent some time at the bar with our parents before going out for dinner. Afterwards the two of us sat in the reading room, browsed the bookshelves and had a nice relaxing time. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we took an early ferry. From previous experience we know the breakfast is good though. The atmosphere near the bar was quite pleasant. Note: there is no lift to the upstairs, so if using stairs is an issue, please let them know when booking.
