Grand Caribe Belize

We were impressed with the staff at Grand Caribe. They were very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping did a great job every day. We had a great view from our two bedroom unit. Our only complaint was the couch and chair in the living room were more like outdoor patio furniture and very uncomfortable. The beds in both bedrooms were very comfortable and we slept great! We had a fishing excursion our last day and caught several fish. The staff at Rain cooked it for us and it was one of our favorite meals while we were in Ambergris Caye! I would recommend Grand Caribe!

We rented a penthouse suite and it’s was huge with all the amenities. Unfortunately there was only 1 safe for 4 bedrooms (4 couples) so they brought us another one but it wasn’t secured to anything. We ended up getting locked inside the unit through the main door and maintenance had to come and fix the lock. We had some other minor issues as well with the laundry and communication but everything was always handled quickly, professionally and appropriately. They even left us a bottle of wine after one of the incidents. The front desk staff was amazing! Every email I sent was also handled quickly and professionally.||The negative side was the unit was dated and needed some upgrades and the pool was cold. Also the drinks at the pool were very expensive in comparison to our other trips we’ve taken. No real appetizers just meal items and we would have liked to snack on things at the pool (guacamole, salsa, wings, etc) ||We would still highly recommend Grand Caribe. It’s in a great location and the property was beautiful and clean. It worked well for our large group and we all had a good time!||We rented our golf carts privately but they are available through the resort at a slightly higher price. They arranged to transport all of our luggage (approximately 8-10 large pieces) to the airport on our last day and it only cost about $22. We needed assistance with the luggage due to us having to return the golf carts that day as well.

Just came home from a great week at Grand Caribe. Perfect space for a family vacation. Flawless rooms with gorgeous view. Lots of spots for us to be together or on our own. All the staff were wonderful - helped with all our questions. The resort had lots to do when we wanted to be busy but somehow also felt quiet when we just wanted to sit on the beach. Location was convenient - easy to head down to town when we wanted to. Check out the Truck Stop for lunch or dinner!

I am trying to find a reason to not give 5 Stars and can't. Place was great. Stayed in 3 BR 2Bath condo the week before Thanksgiving and we all loved. Staff was great, wasn't busy at all(may be different on busier weeks). Brian set us up with Kayaks every day and took 15 mins to get to reef, buoys were there to hook up to. Food was very good. Drinks and food were pricier than if you went to local restaurants, but cheaper than any other resort we stopped at. Paying for convenience, but all was good. We booked tours and golf cart on our own. Worked well and is cheaper than through resort, but they have available if you don't want to do the work. We have been a lot of places and everyone agreed room and cleaning staff was the best. They also do your laundry, we all agreed we should have packed less because they clean everything everyday. We had two seniors and two kids. Don't think there is a better place in Belize for that group. Not a ton of kids but very family friendly.

5 star experience. Room was spacious, service was top notch. If you do any excursions like fishing or snorkeling - highly recommend Captain Sam and his mate Anthony. They are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to give you a great experience. Great with the kids and handled a medical emergency like professionals. Top notch crew.

Review of Grand Caribe Belize:||I had high hopes for Grand Caribe Belize, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.||The Good:| 1. Food Options: The variety of food available was excellent and offered plenty of choices and very attentive and friendly staff.| 2. Excursions: The excursions arranged through the hotel, particularly the Tuff E Nuff cruise, were unforgettable and a highlight of the trip.| 3. Water Equipment and Staff Support: The hotel provides excellent water equipment options, such as kayaks and paddleboards. The staff is readily available to provide guidance and teach you how to use the equipment, which added a fun and interactive element to the stay.| 4. Spacious Rooms: The rooms were very spacious, clean, providing daily laundry services. | 5. Fabulous Massages: The massages at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, offering a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience.| 6. Pools: The pools were great, well-maintained, and enjoyable for relaxing or swimming.||The Bad:| 1. Hot Tubs: The hot tubs at the property were small and not warm enough to be enjoyable. To use a proper hot tub, we had to go across the street to a sister property, which was inconvenient and disappointing.| 2. Cleanliness and Maintenance:|The balcony was completely unusable due to a mosquito infestation, with layers of bugs covering the floors, walls, and furniture. It was shocking that management didn’t address this issue effectively. The infestation led to severe no-see-um and mosquito bites, causing my family to require immediate medical attention at a nearby clinic and medicine. My wife and I endured sleepless nights due to incessant itching from the bites.| 3. Food and Beverages:|While the dining options were diverse and of good quality, the prices were high. | 4. Beach Access and Activities:|Despite being an oceanfront property, the beach was most disappointing. The water was shallow, with a sea grass-covered floor instead of sand, making it unswimmable. There were no engaging activities provided, and even the regular yoga classes were canceled during our stay. No place to walk or run along the beach we could find either.| 5. Weather:|Unfortunately, it rained every day of our trip, which further dampened the experience. While this was beyond the hotel’s control, it limited the ability to enjoy outdoor spaces and activities.| 6. Value for Money:|The required additional flight to and from the island, costing $250 per person, along with the dependence on golf carts to get around, significantly increased the already high cost of the trip. These added expenses made the overall experience feel overpriced.||Overall:||While the hotel offers excellent food, excursions, spacious rooms, fabulous massages, great pools, and water equipment with supportive staff, the numerous shortcomings—particularly with the hot tubs, cleanliness, beach quality, weather, and value—left me feeling that the experience did not justify the high price tag.

Stayed for a week and had a great time. The staff is very friendly and our room was clean, quiet and comfortable and way bigger than we were expecting for a studio. The pool area was really nice and conveniently had a bar with drinks and food that were delivered to where you were sitting. We liked that there were restaurants we could walk to and a gym and grocery store on site. It was too windy and rainy during our stay so we didnt get to take the kayaks out like we wanted to, but liked that they offered free kayak usage. They helped us sign up for a snorkel tour where we were picked up right from the hotel which was convenient, but the only downside is you need at least 4 people to confirm a tour and the only option is other people that are staying at the hotel so we only had one confirmed trip. We ended up booking a second tour through another company and drove into town for it so we could do more than one snorkel tour during our vacation. I would recommend renting a golf cart at least for a couple days so you can explore secret beach, San Pedro and other great restaurants on the island.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. The people were very friendly. The food and drinks were great. The grounds were kept clean. There were 2 restaurants and a store about a 2 minute walk away. Great location for relaxing. Watching the sunrise was awesome.
