5 hot spring resorts within Taiwan's East Coast that will rejuvenate your senses - SilverKris

"An over-the-top resort located midway between Hualien and Taitung, designed with European castle–inspired architecture and extensive facilities including Taiwan’s largest outdoor water park, a library, karaoke rooms, video game arcades, retail outlets, and the country’s only Banyan Tree spa. The owner selected the remote spot for its high-quality thermal water, which is piped into rooms and a variety of public baths that differ in temperature and mineral content; manicured gardens and spectacular views round out the experience, and weekend craft markets by local aboriginal tribespeople are sometimes set up for guests." - Syahirah Mazlan and ORION RAY-JONES

We had a very pleasant stay at the resort. The resort facilities and the resort room were amazing, as well as the staff. The staff was very helpful, the Director Michelle in particular. She helped us loads when we had trouble to get back to Taipei as tourists in Hong Kong. Thanks to her, we bought the train tickets successfully and continued to enjoy our journey in Taiwan. Overall, we are very satisfied with the stay. We certainly will come stay at the resort again! 😄

First visit to this fabulous place; didn’t know it existed. Really impressed with its practically everything, except a few observations that can be improved. Admittedly, it is located in a remote area and far from Hualien City. They have plenty of activities for all ages to engage. I think kiddos will love staying here; one night stay would not be enough. Now, the observations. No plastic bag in the ice bucket to ensure sanitary. The hang tag on the door knob only for cleaning the room, and maintaining privacy tag. No small towel for washing face; hard to do it with medium size. No regular wall outlets to accommodate American plugs. Lastly, hot spring tub is slippery for entering it, even though there are handles to hold on. Perhaps, anti-slippery strips work better. Again, aforementioned flaws(?) are trivial stuffs. Still, this place is one heck of a great place to enjoy R & R. Highly recommended!

This is my second time staying at Grand Cosmos. It is an excellent place to spend your vacation. The property is grand, beautiful, and very clean. The service is wonderful—warm, professional, and friendly. The massage by Yuri was wo. I highly recommend this place!

A new European styled hotel has some face value but lacks follow through for the price. The light switch in the bathroom was broken and couldn’t turn off and the thermostat also didn’t work. The room ‘hot’ spring was lukewarm. The TV had language options that failed. The last bartender shift in Music Bar was horrible and maybe didn’t intend to keep an extra 600NTD when I ordered a drink to get change to do some laundry? No particular order of disappointment, it’s just overall disappointing. I typically post great reviews but am honest always. It feels a bit of a scam if you are used to traveling. Being fluent in Mandarin or Taiwanese makes no difference. Buyer beware, or don’t care. Maybe it’s nicer for 6-12yr olds who can afford and appreciate this silliness. Note: we are in a group of over a dozen and I would expect accommodations be able to reciprocate the value invested.

the rooms took very long to be ready for check-in, even had to change our room due to the tiled flooring being too wet after cleaning when we finally got the room (~30 to 45 mins wait) variety and quality of the dinner and breakfast buffet were mediocre and not value for money. essential amenities like toothpaste & toothbrushes weren’t provided in the rooms, not expecting this from a 5 star hotel. overall not value for money

A hotel with full facilities and gourmets.. The service provided were tip top friendly and kind to serve each and single guest. The facilities able to cater small kids to adults which able to let everyone enjoy to max. A hotel which deserve a 5 stars and is worthwhile to come back again in near future.

Stayed with my family over Christmas Eve and day. What an amazing trip! Kids had loads of fun with the activities like go kart, free arcade games and carousel. There were fire works on Christmas Eve on top of the chapel in the hotel compounds that was absolute beautiful. The resort is surrounded with hills and greenery. We had dinner at the prime steak restaurant which was semi buffet and the steak was really good.||It’s not a budget hotel in the area but if you are looking for a family hotel with something for everyone I would recommend this. I hardly leave reviews but have to say it’s one of the best hotel I stayed in Taiwan so far.

I really enjoyed the service at the buffet. They're quick and there is no tipping culture which is a far cry from Canada. Hot spring in the rooms are nice too
