Unpleasant Stay – Poor Service and lacks Basic Amenities I usually try to be understanding when it comes to travel, but my experience at this hotel was frustrating on several levels and simply cannot be ignored. 1. Rude and dismissive staff: From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff were anything but welcoming. When I asked simple questions, I was met with sarcastic responses, eye-rolling, and an overall attitude that made it clear they didn’t care about helping guests. Basic courtesy was completely lacking. 2. Zero regard for customer service: There was no effort to make guests feel comfortable or valued. It honestly felt like I was bothering them every time I needed assistance — whether it was checking in, asking for directions, or clarifying charges. Hospitality was clearly not a priority for this team. 3. lack of elevator available for rooms: This might not be a problem for some, but for anyone with mobility issues or heavy luggage, the lack of elevator for buildings is a major inconvenience. It should be clearly stated during booking, but I only found out after I arrived and had to haul my bags up multiple flights of stairs with no help offered. 4. Unprofessional attitude throughout: The sarcastic tone and visible annoyance from staff when asked even the simplest questions were unacceptable. I’ve stayed in budget hotels with better manners and basic decency than what I experienced here. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve had. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you value good service, respectful staff, or just being treated like a human being.

Had a beautiful getaway with a friend. We both had massages in the spa, delicious meals in a couple of the restaurants, and relaxing time by the pool. The spa experience was thorough-included a steam spa, sauna, hot tub, and other nice amenities to utilize before or after a paid spa experience. Our massages were wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. Meals and drinks were quite pricey, but portions were generous and the food was high quality. It is a family friendly resort, and didn’t seem to have separate area for families with children so if you’re going for a romantic, kid-free poolside experience this might not be the place for you. We kept the weekend simple and didn’t try any of the extra activities on resort but may find time the next time! Fireworks on Sunday night was a nice touch!!!

The Grand Geneva was the absolute best wedding venue I could have ever asked for. It’s an especially meaningful place to me, as we go there for vacation every summer — so getting married there made it all the more special. The property offers countless gorgeous photo opportunities, breathtaking views, and a team of incredibly kind and accommodating staff. The food was phenomenal, and to top it all off, there was a stunning firework show the night of our wedding — truly magical. My coordinator, Jess, was a dream to work with. She genuinely cared about every detail, which meant the world to me. As a wheelchair user, I also want to highlight how thoughtful and accessible the Grand Geneva was throughout the entire experience. They went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. We also stayed for our honeymoon, and the Grand Geneva continued to exceed every expectation. Our hotel room was absolutely stunning — spacious, luxurious, and perfect for relaxing after such a special day. We were treated with so much care and had the time of our lives. I would recommend the Grand Geneva to anyone without hesitation. 100/10 stars! Thank you, GG!!

Very pleased with our 2- night stay at Grand Geneva! Love that there's a Starbuck's in the front lobby, as well as a bar and lounge with live entertainment. Highly recommend massages at the spa and also dinner at the Chop House. My husband said that was likely the best meal he's ever had in his life, and we've enjoyed food around the world. Huge thanks to our waitress Danielle at the Chop House, for making our anniversary dinner special. Also appreciate Cassie coming over to talk to us, to ensure we were enjoying our special occasion dinner. Both made us feel so welcome and cared for.

Had my wedding here recently and the wedding was amazing, it was the only saving grace. Haley was an incredible event manager and the wedding staff and food was absolutely amazing (bartenders, servers). However, the hotel experience was horrible. Valet was rude when we pulled up to check in. The room was dirty still upon check in, bathroom and shower were clearly used… Called for housekeeping to come later after we were going to be gone (gave them a time and said the issues, wedding day… we were getting ready in the room). They showed up within in hour and walked right into our room DESPITE having the do not disturb sign out! Then said they would come back later as originally discussed. After the wedding, we came back and the bathroom/shower was STILL NOT CLEANED but they replenished towels, trash bags, etc. So we knew they were in there. It truly made me question how well the rest of the room was cleaned but after a long night, it was not worth the stress.. Counted our losses on the $600+ per night suite that was never thoroughly cleaned during the stay…But at least the wedding night was comped because we booked it there.. We had about 30 rooms booked in our hotel block, and multiple guests told me that housekeeping also walked in on them in their rooms despite having the do not disturb sign out. If I didn’t have my wedding here and was just a guest, I would probably never recommend this resort to anyone after our experience.. It is deeply disturbing that housekeeping clearly does not clean thoroughly at all and cannot read a sign on the door saying do not come in. Wedding experience 11/10. Resort experience 1/10.

The resort itself is terrific, a lot of history and decor which is really neat. We love the hotel, I would pass on the club room (not worth it), and the Italian Restaurant needs to have a variety of dinners. Oddest thing there, we had dinner, the server brought the dessert menu and we were planning on picking some to go items for our room. Then the server just brought the bill - no chance to order the desserts??? Other than this - the resort is beautiful.

The kitchens were well stocked with supplies. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. Service was a little slow at the restaurant. Limited menu but selections were delicious. Within quick access to other items (e.g. grocery store, fast food, etc.).

Google
What a surprise to arrive here at Grand Geneva Resort and experience a trouble free check in. The only bad thing was I wasn't offered a tall drink. Which I was able to take care of myself within minutes. A beautiful place with excellent service and amenities. I'm already anticipating my next visit.

Yelp
I tried Grand Geneva Resort & Spa for the first time for a one night stay last night - it was a great time! I stayed during Christmastime, they had a ton of Christmas decorations around the resort and a Trolley Christmas Lights ride which was fun. The hotel itself was very nice - it's a massive property with multiple buildings that have golfing, restaurants, pools, a spa and more activities. I only was able to try the pool and jacuzzi this visit - both were large and very nice (just wish the jacuzzi was hot - it was just warm). The employees were all very friendly as well and my room was very clean. I'd recommend a visit to Grand Geneva if you want a really nice hotel stay in the area with a ton of activities to do.

Yelp
My husband planned a weekend trip at this resort to celebrate my birthday. It was a nice staycation, but we will most likely not be back. Places like this are usually overpriced, but unfortunately, this resort wasn't worth the cost. I read reviews about the restaurants having mediocre food for a large chunk of money, so we ate in town instead. We ordered room service once. My $16 salad had brown lettuce lol. There is an automatic 18% gratuity charge and $4 delivery charge. My husband didn't know this before leaving a nice tip. A very costly meal indeed. We wanted to stay at the Timber Lodge, but it was booked. Grand Geneva is better suited for couples, older people, etc. there was an obvious overflow of families at the resort that couldn't stay at Timber Lodge. My husband and son took the trolley there to spend time at the water park. It was not included in our stay. $30 per person for a half day, and my 18-month-old son did not qualify for a lesser rate. My spa service was underwhelming and extremely expensive. The massage treatment I received was no reflection of the price tag, other than the staff being friendly. The actual rooms are pretty nice. Ample outlets, lighting, and space. A puddle of water occurred under the bathroom sink because a pipe was not connected, but otherwise fine. The pool was nice, although a bit chilly. Most people (kids too) were cramped in the hot tub. I'm glad we checked it out, but Kohler will continue to be our staycation destination.

Yelp
We did three nights (stay and ski). It was my first visit to the resort. The location was easy to get to the front desk was helpful. (we had a bad first room - screaming kids next door - so they moved us). The spa is across the street so I did not try it. We ate at the small bar, evolve. We ate at the grand Café. And we ate at the chophouse. I will review those separately. Our room was comfortable and no problems keeping it warm. I would definitely come back here!

Candace D.

Yelp
Building lobby is beautiful. Frank Lloyd Wright feeling. Rooms are pretty. Wellness Spa needs a lot of updating and is kinda run down and outdated. I wouldn't bother with massages there after getting one, it was not worth it. We had dinner at Brisaggo on Valentine's Day and we had to buy tickets/prepay for a set meal and were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we waited 2 hours for our entree and the restaurant had huge issues getting food out to tables. Super slow and not organized. Def a management issue not the service staff. Management needs to step it up and fix this. Snowshoeing was also closed despite plenty of snow as they said they didn't have staff to prepare the trails. So there is big management problem at the resort they need to resolve.

John K.

Yelp
The chop house was amazing! The Jacuzzie at the pool location is not working! We reported it approx 2 hours ago and no one has come to take a look at it Its almost though the lake Geneva has become to big for their bridges. They don't care !!! The water is very cloudy and the button to turn on the jacuzzie it stuck and won't turn on! Can some please assistance!!!!!! John

Yelp
It's been a long time since I've stayed here. Since then , they have updated the rooms beautifully, all marble baths, the lobby and restaurants were also done well. It is a clean, comfortable, California cool feeling throughout the main areas. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful view - golf course/lake view, high room. It was pretty great. Beds are comfortable. To me, Geneva Club is worth every penny for the happy hour alone plus the full breakfast daily.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Since we were here last year, they did a significant update to the rooms that previously were dingy and outdated. Now, they are chic, comfortable, and functional - things expected at a 4 to 5 star resort. Their holiday decorations continue to be outstanding, and the resort amenities from a gorgeous cocktail bar overlooking the igloos to a top tier steakhouse make this a perfect destination for families and couples looking to create a wonderful holiday tradition.

Mark K.

Yelp
Wow. Marcus is changing things. For the better. Rooms have been updated. No more tubs in the bathroom! Yea. Staff were professional and friendly. Grounds were meticulously maintained. The fireworks were outstanding too! Can't wait to return.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Very slow service our room took over an hour to be ready but nice activity's. Nice quality in the rooms.

Bob K.

Yelp
Anyone who goes to this place is a glutton for punishment. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this was the worse hotel and vacation experience I've ever had. It's impossible to get a reservation for dinner. It's impossible to get a reservation for any spa treatments. The food when you order room service is awful. It takes over 4 hours to get your meal replaced when they mess it up. Your card will randomly get charged absurd amounts of money that they never tell you about. The people at the front desk are rude and are drama queens. Management doesn't care if you have a bad time or not. They only tell you what they think you want to hear and are incredibly insincere. It was so bad my wife and I checked out 2 days early and went home. This place ruined my wife's and I anniversary.

Yelp
Beautiful and huge Grand Geneva Rea My experience attending a wedding party at Grand Geneva Resort was truly enchanting. The venue's picturesque surroundings and elegant architecture created a captivating atmosphere, enhancing the overall celebratory mood. The lush greenery and well-maintained grounds provided a stunning backdrop for the festivities. The wedding venue itself was beautifully adorned, reflecting a meticulous attention to detail. The staff demonstrated professionalism and courtesy throughout the event, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable celebration for all attendees. The grandeur of Grand Geneva Resort, coupled with its warm hospitality, made the wedding experience memorable. From the scenic views to the impeccable service, Grand Geneva Resort stands out as an exceptional location for special occasions. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refined and picturesque setting for their celebrations, creating lasting memories in this remarkable venue.

Rushell M.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and the grounds were beautiful. The pool hot tub area is very nice. I LOVED the shower. Unfortunately, this resort is NOT handicap friendly. There are so many stairs. I could tell they tried to update some areas, but it still falls short. Just look carefully and ask lots of questions if you have a physical disability.

Leigh M.

Yelp
I wouldn't do this brunch again. $80 for sub par food. I couldn't cut my eggs Benedict Muffin with my knife and the egg was like hard boiled. The prime rib was so tough I had to keep spitting it out. Scalloped potatoes were crunchy as in 'not cooked long enough'. Cheese selection was decent. Overall not a good experience.

Amanda G.

Yelp
Christmas light are awesome you need to see during the holidays to go every year. I do enjoy it. It's a wonderful time and beautiful displays those good opportunities for meals you could have banquets there spend the night there you know swimming pool spas they have just about everything you want and a beautiful display to look at

Deidre S.

Yelp
We went to the bar today for a drink. The older bartender spoke to us and was very friendly. The bar was packed, the service was good. Enjoyed the bar area and the outside hamster cages in the cold. Great spot to stop and chill.

Lindsay J.

Yelp
This review is only for the Rock Wall at the Grand Geneva Spa and Workout Center... Do it! If you did not know this exists, you should definitely check it out. My son did it at 10 and 12, I did it at 43...It's a great workout and fun family bonding. There are around 12 different lines to climb up, and the instructors have challenges for some of the lines to change it up. We have experienced two different instructors. Both were wonderful; they care about safety and making sure the climbers have fun. You do not have to stay at the Grand Geneva to book your session. It is $25 for an hour and they will add a tip of $5 on automatically, so know that when you book. Check it out on your next trip to LG!

JuJu T.

Yelp
Really nice resort BUT the rules for skiing was ridiculous! My son was stuck on top of the hill for 30 minutes and nobody was helping him. We wanted to go help him, but they told us since we are not skiing We are not allowed to! We had to stay behind a blue fence. while going back-and-forth with one of the workers instead of him saying I will get somebody right away to help your son. He stood there staring to see when my son will come down.! There were plenty of parents complaining about them not able to help their kids.

Chris M.

Yelp
Great resort and very nicely renovated rooms. Property is beautiful! Definitely will go back to stay again.

Manny G.

Yelp
As good as it gets. They are customer service driven and it shows. The resort rooms are spacious and clean. The entire resort is well maintained and I cant say enough about the staff. Amazing spot for a vacation.

Dave C.

Yelp
Good place to visit and stay. We stayed in the main lodge with a view over the lake - 3 nights; great view. We tried 3 of the eating places and were happy. We hiked some easy trails both paved and unpaved; nice relaxing both in the woods and with good views. Had a fire in one of the outside fire pits. Room was sizable; yet only downside is that we didn't have a sheet - only a blanket. Food had good variety; will write separate reviews there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wide variety of activities such as swimming, disc golf, regular golf, playgrounds for kids, easy-ish hiking/biking trails. Very spacious; easy to relax in.

Terry M.

Yelp
Don't come here! I would highly recommend anyone thinking about staying here consider going somewhere else! My wife and I have been coming here for the past 13 years for our wedding anniversary. It's not always been perfect but it's been enjoyable. This year has been nothing short of a disaster. We made our reservation in June for this weekend in August. We always stay Sunday to Tuesday in an effort to avoid weekend crowds. When I made our reservation I spoke with a lovely person who was very helpful. I explained to her that my wife and I both have orthopedic issues and that I also have a heart issue . Consequently I requested a room in building 4 which is closest to the main lodge to minimize walking. When we checked in they told us we were put in building two which is a significant walk to the main lodge. Aaron Weeks, the desk director could not have been less helpful. He showed a total disregard for our physical limitations or the fact that we had made our reservation two months prior. The Grand Geneva should consider if Aaron is the type of person they want representing the resort! After much back and forth, he was finally able to find a room in building four, BUT, it would not be available until after 3:00 which meant our time at the pool wasn't going to happen. We have such great memories of celebrating our anniversary at the Grand Geneva in the past but apparently that is done. I can't recommend the Grand Geneva after our experience today!

Lori A.

Yelp
Amazing few nights away from the city (Chicago) staff amazing thru out the resort and the Halibut dish at Geneva Chop House in the Resort was superb Rebecca our server a 10.....I'm very picky and wasn't disappointed

Amber M.

Yelp
This resort is normally great but the restaurant wouldn't accept a gift card unlawfully by creating conditions of when/how it could be used AFTER it was already purchased. Be careful of buying gift cards and using this resort that doesn't seem to care about following moral ethics and laws.

Steph M.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed with the spa for our girls weekend. Six of us were there from 11am-5pm. We all had a treatment and were very satisfied with our treatments. However, the spa needs improvement. They advertise as if they are very high end. The jacuzzi had noticeable grime on the wall. The amenities seemed dated and there were a few marks on walls that needed painting/updating. The bathrooms are tiny, old and separated by a divider (similar to a bar bathroom). When we were greeted, it would have been nice to have gotten a tour of the entire facility. Instead, they seemed rushed and not very attentive. We were confused about ordering food in and could not find anyone to help us. Overall, our experience was okay, but the place seems to need a renovation and new management. It has potential, but not worth the price tag for what you get.

Nadine S.

Yelp
I went to the resort for a ski trip with a large group and I had a fantastic time. It is a lovely resort and it was a nice gentle introduction to skiing. Upon arrival, each age appropriate guest is offered a glass of champagne which was nice. The check in process was seamless and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The resort is huge, a tad on the older side but the rooms were nice and clean. I went sledding and skiing after some group lessons. They have plenty of helpful instructors ready to help. Our instructor was great although I felt he was getting a bit frustrated with my lack of following instructions which I totally understand. Skiing was brand new and can be scary. There were a good variety of slopes, from novice to experienced skier; I stayed on the 5% incline bunny hill. They offer a lot of other winter activities: ice skating, sledding, snowboarding, and lots of fun activities for kids. There's a bar area with a DJ at night, and live piano in the front lobby at various times during the day. Had dinner one night at the igloo which was underwhelming, it was very cold and service was a bit slow. The breakfast buffet is great, the food was good and not pricey at all. $22 for a standard breakfast buffet, including a fresh omelette station. I definitely recommend the resort for a weekend winter getaway or just skiing. I don't know what's it's like during other seasons, but I will definitely be back next winter.

Gregg H.

Yelp
Nice place but very expensive to dine. The 2 star review is for the ridiculous walk to get to my room. Nowhere to park so I had to park in overflow parking near driving range and walk to my room in building 1, about 250 yards away. Oh, whoops. Forgot something. 500 yard round trip in 30 degree weather. Very poor layout and confusing. Should've built up not out. Feel sorry for the elderly and handicapped. Probably take them 1/2 hour to get to the lobby from where I'm at.

Ginna G.

Yelp
Very nice lodge. Rooms are charming. Two cons: 1. Hard to get to if you don't have a car- $150 from MKE airport via Lyft! Also the rooms have those little shampoo and conditioner bottles that are single use. Grand Geneva needs to be more plastic conscious.

Ruby Q.

Yelp
So it costs a bunch of money to stay here. Think about $1,000 per night and you will have the proper context. With that nut in mind, the resort is beautiful. The grounds are landscaped impeccably. The pool is nice, but teaming with kids on the summer weekends. A wedding May be disrupt summer weekends as well. The steakhouse is wonderful (again counting on $200 pp all in with drinks and a NY strip). So, if it is in your budget, this is a fine way to spend money, especially if you don't have to fly to your destination.

Gloria C.

Yelp
Outdoor pool heated. Friendly staff. Clean and well maintained. Deceived by internet photo of room. No mention of lakeside rooms 2 floors below lobby level. Felt like I was a guest in someone's walk out basement. And my joints felt it too. Poor management advocating deceptive advertising. Please see photos below.

David V.

Yelp
7 months later and still no response to this from management. In my time with The Boulders Resort and Spa in Carefree, Az ( a Waldorf Astoria Hotel), Conrad Hilton Chicago, Hyatt Regency and The Omni Grove Park Inn, NC, this would never have been acceptable. Any issue would have been handled the second someone left a review. Just shows that management doesn't care about the individual traveler here.

Oscar S.

Yelp
I don't normally take food recommendations but I took a risk with this one. I've never been happier doing so. The blt slapped so hard I knew each of the ingredients by name and their life story. The bacon so crisp yet tender - I felt like I was on the pig farm about to have the honor of picking out the pig to be slaughtered myself. The tomatoes? I swear if I squeezed it straight up V8 would come pouring out. The iceberg lettuce did its job so well they named the one the titanic hit after it. I swear a mom of 3 in her mid thirties named Chelsea made the sourdough, whipped it up in her kitchen after being on homemade bread tik tok too long. Exquisite. The mayo? More like 'mayo have some more please' all I have to say is bury me with this blt

Amir K.

Yelp
Excellent property and very convenient to downtown and lake Geneva with many different activities. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm. Overall, we had a great experience, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great (indoor tennis, gym, spa, beautiful golf course and so much more.) The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate 4th of July weekend.

Kwame S.

Yelp
By far the best stay I ever had in a resort, the accommodations, the staff, the amenities, the service amazing atmosphere. Extremely clean, inviting from beginning to end. One of my kids locked us out of one of our rooms and immediate service to fix the problem continuously checking on us making sure we're good through text message and if I had any questions immediately responded to! Beautiful view, so peaceful so quiet. And the front desk was top of the line. My family and I was there for five day over Presidents' Day weekend. And that trip was definitely one for the record books.

Rae A.

Yelp
I do not recommend The Grand Geneva and do not consider this a resort. The establishment is very dated and run down. Hospitality is non existent. The guest rooms were recently renovated though the craftsmenship and quality was done poorly and cheap. The Kohler fixtures in the rooms are not state of the art. They are also very poor quality. The water pressure in the rooms is also poor. The King size bed in the room was hard and the pillows were too soft and unsupportive. The list goes on.. All claims made by The Grand Geneva are false advertisement. The amenities such as the pool are very small , very old and questionable as far as if these areas are even up to code legally. Upon checking in and out not once were we asked about our stay or shown any concern or care to patron this establishment. The grand Geneva not only is misleading the public on the service they provide, they fail to deliver and did so miserably.

Jodi D.

Yelp
We recently spent the night at Grand Geneva and it was fabulous! The room was clean, quiet and so comfortable. A great view too! Nicholas at the front desk was so helpful and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

Kamilah S.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Nice little resort. We had the 1 bedroom suite, it was great. Check in was a breeze, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hannah, was a gem and a delight, love her she went above and beyond.

Jenny M.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Grand Geneva. Everyone was friendly and the resort was lovely. The town of Lake Geneva is a great place to visit. We upgraded to the Geneva Club for our stay and it was definitely worth it. The only thing we didn't love was the Seafood Buffet.

Christi G.

Yelp
This resort really needs to be updated. What was once a beautiful resort sitting on picturesque land now felt like a weekend money grab. We had a basic deluxe 2 queen room which actually saved us money in the long run, we had wanted a suite but to bring our dog we had to get a deluxe level. This was a blessing... still cost $350 a night plus tax and resort fees. Once we got to the hotel I wanted to show my spouse the beautiful grounds... we opened our curtains to show our view... a dilapidated building that was falling apart with no roof... see pictures. Picture in your mind the set of a horror movie at night... just unsettling and not resort like in anyway. We had upgraded our stay to Geneva Club level, which was a joke... the appetizer food offered was mediocre, eclectic and sparse with food sitting out for hours on warmers. One chafing dish had the lid broken off, did they replace it, you ask?!?! No they actually used the same broken dish each service. The supposed warm food just open to the elements of the room (people coughing, sneezing) and room temperature air. They served things like pot stickers with no sauce and two types of shrimp salad at one time... one shrimp salad was good enough, think options and variety. People complained but were brushed off... We are Marriott club members and this club was a joke. Offering 20% off drinks with no bar just a cart with few options and not readily available or staffed. Sadly, I'm not sure we will be back...

Yelp
I'm sorry that I have to do this, but... Do not waste your money staying at this place! I planned a little getaway for my sister's birthday and boy do I regret it! First off, the brunch at the Chophouse is way overpriced. The menu looks good, but it is not! All the dishes taste the same and are not even hot when you get them. The waiter was doing his best, but looked unkempt. Kids were coughing all over the buffet. It was a nightmare. Then the spa. Where do I begin on how disappointing this place is?! First off, the ambience is horrid. It's not relaxing at all! The tranquility room reminded me of a hospitality ballroom at a convention. There aren't even recliners or loungers. It's well lit and has open doors to the parking lot! No chance or relaxation here! Then, the massage... omg the worst massage I've ever had. She spent what felt like 20 min on my scalp... which was basically just her moving my hair (still in ponytail might I add) around. She took one pass at my arms and legs and that was it. The paraffin was WAY too hot and burned my feet and there was no real massaging of the feet or the hands. The time she spent on my back was good, but not worth nearly $300. She barely used any of the CBD I bought extra... I don't want to take home a jar of cbd... I want you to use it on me now! The masseuse was very nice, but the product left so much to be desired. The whole spa experience was a total waste of money! Then the room... which was not ready at check in or an hour after that. We ended up cancelling our reservation, which the hotel obliged and my refund was issued quickly, but we got a little bit of attitude at the desk that I could've lived without. All in all, I was shocked at how terrible this experience was and will NEVER give them a penny of my money again. Save yourself the waste and go somewhere else. I literally feel like I ruined my sisters birthday by deciding to come here and I feel terrible (and am out over $1000 only to head home before we had planned). Cancelling the hotel and leaving was sadly the highlight of the whole experience.

Yelp
Nice location for the type of resort the Grand Geneva offers. Let me start out by saying, I have stayed at many resorts and hotels in my lifetime and this was by far thee worst of them all. When I tell people about the horrible experiences they look at me funny Maybe I expected too much, I will let the reader decide. Note this resort is not ADA friendly. They only have one building with elevators. If you are one of the unlucky guests such as two of my family members were. You will be told from the staff,"OH it's only a couple stairs to get to the next floor " Next issue is yes, the staff. Front desk staff told another party on the phone they would need to register their vehicle if they were attending an event for the evening. When asked the front desk staff this they claimed that was not true. The restaurant off of the lobby had a nice set up. The staff, starting with the hostesses was piss poor. They let my wife know they will start the reservation seating at 5pm. This was fine as we were a couple minutes early. The hostesses then disappeared for half an hour and didn't seat anyone until 530pm. Now if you read the reviews on the buffet, they are correct. Nothing exciting about it. The wait staff didn't know which tables they were waiting on. Some tables received menus, we didn't. My wife had to ask a couple times to see a menu. Menu items are good. Breakfast is my next area to tackle. I have had better breakfast at taco bell than at the Grand Geneva. The ski lodge where we had our event on Saturday night, didn't feel like the air conditioning was turned on for the entire event.

Yelp
Having a hard time getting a refund for a misunderstanding at the bar. I've called back several times and nobody is giving me my refund...

Yelp
My review is for the Villa that stand alone several blocks from the Lodge. I booked thru a 3th party site which normal I don't do but it was last min and GG hotel site way booked. I scored a 2 bedroom 2 bath bi level Villa which can run upwards of 500 nightly depending on date of arrival I booked for the weekend price was astronomical but it was last min so hey!. I did get a email the morning of saying our room was different from which I booked and promptly called because I did confirm after my booking was place thru Travelocity don't use this by the way ! Anyhow the front desk explained the room was unavailable and we agreed on 1br ,which was fine it was just hubby and I . To my surprise we got the 2bedroom plus one night credit because of the mix up and stress it caused I was so blessed to enjoy the original room and half my money back! The Villa downstairs was 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs was kitchen and living area sofa-bed and fireplace and additional bathroom. All the comforts of home dishwasher stove and fridge new furnishings dish and pots and pans even a blender! The view was of the wooden area and fireflies and if need a grill . We will definitely return all our calls and concerns were met promptly wonderful experience and getaway

Yelp
We stayed at the resort on July 29th for one night.  I've stayed at the nearby lodge many times with nieces and nephews enjoyed the water park and have walked through the Grand Geneva on those occasions - always wanting to stay at the resort at some point.  While I am usually able to overlook one or two issues when I'm traveling, the disappointment I experienced left me wanting to share feedback. I picked my sister up from OHare and we drove an hour to the resort, as she'd been traveling since 2am that morning.  We arrived at about 3:30 anticipating the 4pm check-in.  We lunched in the restaurant to pass the time, a little disappointed that there wasn't any outdoor dining - but ok.  (But there were tables outside on the patio having lunch...?)  (The food was very good.) We enjoyed some wine. 4:00pm came and we anticipated the text saying our room was ready. No text. Fifteen minutes - thirty minutes....The front desk bought us a glass of wine.  That was nice. OK we'll go out to the pool and grab some sun while we wait. A sign at the pool clearly states that chairs will be cleaned up and towels will be removed after 30 minutes so that waiting patrons can enjoy the pool - Nope.  I observed two managers on the patio - chatting it up with seated customers - oblivious to the mess. There was garbage all over the place; food, empty drinks and water bottles - flies everywhere.  Two of the three bartenders were eating behind the bar - only steps away from the mess. Meanwhile - in the pool a giant blow-up swan and American Flag raft for two floated unoccupied. It's a small pool and guests are permitted to bring in blow up pool toys that take the space of three or four people?  It was after 5:00 by the time our building 5 room was ready. The room smelled musty and later after brushing our teeth - the sink didn't drain. Other than that - it was fine. Tired but wanting sunshine we put our suits on and headed back to the pool thinking we'd grab a short nap as people were finally clearing out. We enjoyed some quiet and then went to the hot tub where -  kids.  Small kids. In the hot tub.  Not unheard of - I just don't understand the thinking when there's a water park on the same property. OK.  That's not really my complaint but I think it's worth mentioning.  We then went back to the room and changed for dinner.  But first lets have a drink at the bar before dinner.  Guess what?  Kids. At the bar. The smiling bartender served up two giant kiddie cocktails - which of course were immediately spilled all over the bar. It's getting on in the evening...really it got away from us so we perused the on-premise establishments. Finally decided to have a steak and...Sorry. We don't serve after 10:00.  Not even room service. Oh boy. now we're in a pickle because we've had some wine and we're hungry. Were it not for the nice chef in the open concept kitchen who overheard me ask a waiter (bypassed the host stand) we would have been out of luck.  The food was in a box within 15 minutes - and we were on our way back to our room to eat it. Because - we couldn't get seated. I am so sorry to have to write this review.  You have no idea how much I looked forward to a relaxing night in Lake Geneva but I am respectfully requesting a do over.

Yelp
For a spa resort we were completely underwhelmed with the resort over all. Even though our room was very spacious, it was very drabby. We booked a court side king, FYI "court side" means parking lot view. We were placed in building 1 in the very last room. Not sure if there was a wedding in the forum or just obnoxious guests upstairs from us but there was music blasting from 9pm until about 1230am. If it was a wedding, the resort needs to be aware that customers in building 1 can hear the DJs music. They have a nice sign about complimentary water in the mini fridge but then on the back of the envelope you get your room keys in it says the resort fee they charge you so they can provide you with a list of things..... well that means it's not complimentary. There were families and children running around everywhere. At 9pm the mother in the room next to ours started screaming at her children because they were not going to sleep "for the second night in a row". She made the comment "if I can hear you on the monitor you are too loud". Which then in turn made them both start scream crying. The next morning the parents came out of their room across the hall knocking on their kids door waking them up to go for breakfast. The 2 kids probably were between 6 & 9 years old and they used a baby monitor to watch them. I'm sure the hotel didn't realize this happened but I don't know how it's appropriate or acceptable to leave two children in a hotel room across the hall. They should have had the adjoining room to their children instead of us. This is far from the romantic, kid free, birthday weekend my husband and I were looking for. I would have rather stayed at a Hampton inn and saved some money. We will never be back nor would I recommend anyone wasting their money here.

Yelp
My family has been coming here since the 80s when it was the bunny club. It's an incredible place, full of fun for all ages: including 2 world-class golf courses, a ski/bike/hiking hill, tons of indoor and outdoor pools and a waterpark, 2 arcades, lots of differently themed restaurants, bars, outdoor fire pits, horseback riding and small petting zoo, spa, workout center, basketball courts, rock climbing, live music, and more. We stay in the villas whenever we come here and love them, although there are many different places where you can stay, all with different vibes (the villas which are kind of in their own little world with their own pools, etc, rooms in the lodge itself, and several other more "hotel-like" buildings that border the golf course). We come here many times a year and have always had great experiences. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

Yelp
We went to Grand Geneva for a day skiing trip. Overall it was a good experience. We rented equipment and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The mountain itself is small compared to resorts out west, but that is to be expected given its location. It was my first time on fake snow and it was definitely a unique experience, but was still enjoyable. The food at the ski lodge was delicious and well priced.

Yelp
After a rocky start, finally got settled in. We are part of the Geneva club which got sort of "cancelled" but still got vouchers for pretty much anything we need. The views are gorgeous. The staff is extremely friendly. Especially Shawna , our favorite server. She is super kind and as extremely efficient. Best apps and drinks so far. Delicious food! Photos to come. Today is scooters and photos. We'll keep ya posted. Photos available after trip!

Yelp
Been going to this resort for almost 8 years now. The service is absolutely the best, the people are always nice and receptive to feedback. Victoria has served us twice in the Geneva club and had been excellent both times. While the food and massages are a bit more expensive, they are well worth it, and there are alternatives if you aren't looking to spend a lot of money. This place is amazing, the vibe is relaxing and pleasant, and the health club is the best. Definitely recommend
