Grand Guesthouse Gardakot

One of the highlights of our trip. We generally do not stay at guesthouses (we are hotel kind of people) but the Grand Guesthouse was comfortable and accommodating for the two nights we stayed. One reason is because of Ieva - she is simply lovely! The food was great and it is in a great location to explore the area. Oh, and it is a phenomenal place to catch the lights.

This was one of the most comfortable and welcoming places we stayed on our 2 week trip around Iceland. Upon arrival, a friendly dog "greeted" us in the parking area. Check in was super easy - key and local information waiting for us upon arrival. Room was extremely comfortable and spacious (we had room downstairs). Breakfast was one of the best we had in Iceland. Home baked goods served with cheese and meats and preserves. Hot griddle cakes were freshly made and served family style. The host served breakfast and offered many useful tips and suggestions about the area.

Clean, cute B&B. Friendly host, top-tier breakfast spread. Fresh bread was actually coming out of the oven as we emerged from our comfortable bedroom. Glad to have stayed here twice during our week in Iceland.

Can’t recommend it enough! The room was beautiful and comfortable and the host was lovely. We had a small issue that she helped us out with and gave us the best restaurant recommendation of the trip while she was at it. Make sure you don’t miss breakfast, there was homemade bread and jam, fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm, and local smoked salmon. Can’t wait to come back!

Our room was cozy, clean and had a warm atmosphere, the host was nice and friendly and we had a nice chat over the most amazing breakfast I had in a long time: everything was a local produce and super tasty! Best stay in Iceland!!!

We loved this cozy, clean farmhouse just 7 miles from Vik. Fabulous breakfast, comfortable beds and very warm. Our host Eva was charming, funny and full of helpful tips. We used this as our base to explore Vik.

What a wonderful stay at Grandhouse Gardakot. We stayed 2 nights in the ground floor with bathroom suite. Eva gave us permission to use the kitchen. The surroundings were peaceful and the room very comfortable. Eva prepared a wonderful breakfast for us each morning with homemade bread, smoked salmon that her husband smoked, smoked lamb from their farm and delicious pancakes. The location was perfect for touring the area.

The location near Vik was good. The Guesthouse was lovely, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. It was great chatting with fellow travelers and the fun staff member over breakfast. And the sheep strolling down the road made it truly Iceland!
