What a Concert last night by Gary Sinise & his Lt. Dan Band. Culminated by a spectacular light show & Fireworks. Oh what a night to Remember!

This FREE show is just as amazing and wonderful as it has always been. So glad I can share this memory with my children just like my Mom did for me.

Google
The fountain and audio in on a big hill on the other side of the river. I saw it years ago, it was street level in a park like setting with people watching from all sides. I wasn't a fan of the Christmas Music in July on the eve of the Coastguard Festival. Sorry, maybe just disappointed because it wasn't like my childhood memory. Still it was nice, especially for a free event.

The kids never tire of the fountain light show, with fresh music and a crowd full of pure joy to enjoy it with, this a must see if you're in the area in the summer. It's a wonderful time, no matter your age.

My mom said we were going to see the ‘singing fountain.’ I imagined beauty. Elegance. Maybe even magic. Instead, I got hit by more water than Niagara Falls. The wind changed direction mid‑song and suddenly I was drenched head to toe like I’d been baptized against my will. My shoes squished for hours. My phone almost drowned. The fountain doesn’t sing; it screams as it soaks innocent bystanders. Meanwhile, my mom is clapping like it’s Broadway while I’m just praying for towels. Three star — unless you’re into accidental waterboarding disguised as family entertainment

My kids love the Musical Fountain! It’s like a quaint small town version of a Las Vegas fountain show. I believe it is programmed by local volunteers. We loved the Taylor Swift show, among others.

It's a park across from dancing fountains. They have cement seating or you can bring camping chairs.

Such a pretty place to visit. My first time to Grand Haven, and Michigan! Had a great time. Beautiful area. Wonderful little shops to get some souvenirs. And the light water show we only caught a glimpse of but it was pretty. We were there the weekend before the Coast Guard Festival. And from pictures I saw, it looked like a good time. Definitely on my list to visit again!

Yelp
The Grand Haven Musical Fountain 100% belongs on your West Michigan bucket list. A tradition since 1962, the musical fountain is truly is a spectacle of water and lights creatively synchronized to various songs that will make you want to sing or dance along. It's utterly delightful no matter your age. The details: -Shows take place at the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium in downtown Grand Haven. -Shows are FREE and last between 25-30 minutes. -Shows play nightly at dark from Memorial Day-Labor Day as well as Fridays and Saturdays in May and September. Bring your loved ones and a blanket, and I promise you that you'll be entertained by a tradition that's truly unique and special.

Yelp
I realized my review from June 2025 never posted. We took a road trip to Michigan this summer and scoped out potential cities to move too. We loved our time at the beach in Grand Haven and our night at the Grand Haven Musical Fountain was the highlight evening activity! Stunning water light synchronized music shows! Ours was Starwars themed which we really appreciated the nostalgia of. If you're unaware, this is an outdoor venue with tiered cement steps that serve as seats - so you may want a cushion or blanket. Lovely local ice cream parlor right there, and food spots within walking distance. We paid to park across the street at a very reasonable price! Show doesn't start until it's dark, so you have time to make it and can easily come and go as needed.

Yelp
This was a super cute activity to do after the sun went down in Grand Haven! Check their website for the exact time of the show each night (as I think it changes depending on sunset time throughout the summer). It just felt like a charming summer evening, gathered with lots of other people along a grassy "arena". Lots of picnic blankets and camping chairs, but you also don't need anything at all to get a comfy seat on the concrete steps. Lots of families and children dancing around on a stone stage type of platform. Nearby ice cream and food vendors rounds out the area. As for the actual show itself, it was fun! The water fountain, lights, and music (our night was rock and roll themed) all coordinated with each other for an enjoyable show. Only minor thing - the music was playing out of speakers on the other side of the water, and when boats passed through (or one that didn't "read the room" and parked itself directly in front of the fountain for a while), it really impacted the sound that passed through to the audience.

Yelp
Thank you Grand Haven and all of the coordinators with the musical/ festival events. It is truly a blessing to have these events for all to enjoy. Great job Grand Haven.

Yelp
Okay, I'll admit this was better than I thought it was going to be. The last time I saw the fountain was like 15-17 years ago, and it's WAY improved from then. My basis for comparison are the Bellagio fountains in Vegas, which probably isn't fair to compare, too ... We went to see it this Friday, 8/31/19, and it was a Greatest Showman themed show, which automatically jacks this review up a full star from me (I looooove Greatest Showman). The audio was a little wonky ... a friend thought maybe they were playing it from YouTube, haha ... but the fountains are much improved (and bigger??) from when I last saw them. Overall, a fun thing to do in downtown GH (and free!) but check the website to see when they are playing, and also what songs they will be playing the night you want to go.

Yelp
Beautiful display of water and lights that runs nightly between Memorial Day and Labor Day and on weekends during May and September. I really enjoyed the quality of audio (loud, clear, with booming bass) and the creativity of the display for the show. It's also great how the area by the shore and amphitheater isn't very crowded so you can easily walk around during the show and move around to get nice pictures. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
The Grand Haven Musical Fountain Grand Haven is such a unique town in so many ways, one being that it is home to the musical fountain!! The musical fountain is SO fun and plays every night in the summer at 10:10pm! Check out their website to see if there are any themed shows for when your planning on visiting! (The next one is for Christmas in July! ) They plays all kinds of music for the water to dance to! You'll hear everything from throwbacks to Disney music to pop music and more! The Musical Fountain is the perfect family activity that will create lasting memories!

Yelp
This has been a to do in Grand Haven since lived there as a kid in the 70's. We came back for a visit and I brought my wife to see the world famous Grand Haven Musical Fountain and it was as good as I remembered. I had to let her know this was not the Bellagio or World of Color but this has been going non-stop for 62 years unlike the others. The only problem that I have is more nostalgia than a real issue, we used to sit on grand stands or the grass and watch the performance and now there are rows of boats blocking a lot of the viewing area. There is a beautiful area with concrete benches and room for camp chairs as well. If you do attend a performance don't forget to stop by Pronto Pup before or after to get a couple of dogs on a stick, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Well, none of my pictures look any better than the others posted here. However, the night we chose to visit just so happened to be Beauty and the Beast themed. I'm not familiar with the soundtrack, but the water and lights seemed to flow with the ybeat and tempo of the music. Think I possibly would have enjoyed it more if I knew the music. It's a free, family friendly activity and gives something to do in the lakeside town.

Yelp
Keeping it real - it's really awesome that they have something like this in Michigan. But, my context is a) California Adventure's World of Color & b) Bellagio Fountains. I know it's not fair to compare the Grand Haven Musical Fountain with these two because this is nightly 25 minute show (check exact times on their site) that its run by the city and thru donations not a multi-million dollar production. BUT, this is the OG fountain - built in 1962! So in that spirit, I think it's worth a looksy. It's nice to sit on the harbor with some ice cream on a warm MI summer evening. I wish the sound were a bit better though. Also, it gets crowded early but you can also sit on main street and enjoy/see it though! 204/365

Yelp
A cute little fountain to check out if in the area. People arrive very early to get their spot, however, if you don't mind where you sit (or stand) showing up right before show time is fine. There is some built in cement bench seating or you can bring your own chairs and blankets. The fountain is actually pretty far away on the other side of the river bank, which I was not expecting. The sound was good and the lights were too. If you are expecting the bellagio, you will be disappointed. The show lasted about 20-23 minutes.

Yelp
One of the highlights of my family's trip to this area three years ago. It was a long day but it was worth the wait for this show. Me and my three kids ranging from elementary to junior high really enjoyed the show. Loved the music, the themes, the lights all of this whole experience. It is frequently compared to the Bellagio in Las Vegas but never have been there. So glad this is an option and hope it continues for many years to come

Yelp
Just heavenly. Grand Haven is such a special place and the musical Fountain just adds to the charm. Nicest people that have such pride in their town. Family fun at its finest. There is a website with playlists and times. It's just terrific. Go!!!

Yelp
We visited on a weekday in June, when sunset is late, and the show starts at 10:10 PM. When we arrived at 9:50 or so, the parking lot next to the bleachers was filling up, but we still found a spot. The bleachers were fine, because I remembered to bring cushion. Therese H. remembered to bring a couple blankets, which were helpful, as it was chilly this particular evening. The show itself was fine, a pleasant variety of music, and an interesting series of patterns produced by the fountain. I imagine it would like a little more dramatic from the perspective of a boater, but even in the bleachers across the river, it was plenty entertaining for the kids around us in the bleachers. I can barely sit through most TV shows, but this was 20 minutes, and didn't seem long enough. There are donation boxes by the gates, and the announcer voice encouraged us to support the show on the way out.

Yelp
I had seen signs coming into Grand Haven for the musical fountain and I assumed it was the fountain where I saw a lot of small kids splashing by the waterfront. It was dusk in Grand Haven, and I was eating ice cream, people watching by the water. While in a fight to the death with a Dairy Treat peanut butter cup freezee, I freed one hand to google it. Turns out the Grand Haven Musical Fountain is kind of a big deal, with bleacher seating overlooking the harbor. It's one of the largest musical fountains of its kind, with the water moving in rhythm to the music. The free show starts at dusk, every summer night from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Further evidence that I'm getting old: the night we went, the only songs I recognized were "Money, Money, Money" by Abba and "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor.

Yelp
I visited grand haven this past Father's Day and I was elated with my experience! It was absolutely peaceful and relaxing! My family and I stopped by the beach last night to catch a breeze and enjoy the water as the sun was setting and it was beautiful. The beach wasn't too crowded which is a plus in my book. I read there was a light show there, so we stuck around for a while in hopes of seeing it. At 10:10pm the show started exactly. And I must say, it was enjoyable. It was across the water in the hills if you will, and multiple colored lights erupted. Music played in the background and it offered a piece of serenity. We sat on a bench in direct view of the light show and enjoyed a sundae courtesy of an ice cream parlor on the boardwalk. Definitely a great way to enjoy a Sunday night.

Yelp
Get ready for a really cool show! We discovered this by accident while wandering around downtown Grand Haven later in the evening. We heard music, followed it, and were surprised to see a beautiful water, light, and sound show that is the Grand Haven Musical Fountain. We find all the kids and adults in our family love it, no matter the age. Make sure to bring a hoodie, a blanket to sit on or a cushion for the bleachers. We like to sit right by the water's edge, but it does get chilly even in the summer.

Yelp
This was a very cool show and very entertaining. I highly recommend checking it out if in the downtown area.

Yelp
PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, HARKEN TO ME You have been fooled and taken advantage of by rich oligarchs who control Grand Haven city. They would look to steal all your money, take all your possessions, and strip you of your dignity. It is by supporting the Grand Haven Musical Fountain, you are allowing them to have their way with you. You should feel disgusted and ashamed. Your eyes and ears have been violated by the hypnotic satanist music that is pumped endlessly from Satan's bladder (AKA the musical fountain). I beseech thee, as free peoples on this earth, do not allow your overlords to continue their dark reign. Allahu Akbar

Yelp
It's so sweet coming to this - great music and good seating. It's every night in the summer - 'sit toward the American flag for best view'. If you face the river go to your right for ice cream or amazing fresh popcorn in any flavor - really they have I think 100 to choose from- I like the dill pickle and root beer flavors. Pretty boats to look at too in the marina.

Yelp
Fun safe summer night ongoing event for the entire family.

Yelp
So amazing! A great way to end a hot summer night. Grab some ice cream or a pretzel and enjoy!

Yelp
New sound system and still couldn't hear a thing on July 4 and we were sitting north of Snug! Time for the city to put $ I to improving the infrastructure and less into tourist draws!

Yelp
We went to grand haven Memorial Day weekend, and this fountain came highly recommended. The show does not start until it's dark, which in the summer is pretty late. We have a 2 year old and we were not sure he could last until the show. We got a spot on the lawn near the bleachers. We did not plan well, and had no jackets. It was very cold near the water. Our son also was very cranky since it was so late. We ended up going to our car, and watched the show from our car in the parking lot nearby while our son slept in the car seat. The fountain show was nice, there were different songs playing and lots of colors. I am glad I saw it in the car, where it was warm and not buggy. I don't think I could have sat through it otherwise.

Yelp
Wonderful family entertainment every night between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Many different shows that include fun music, fountains and synchronized lights. The new Lynn Sherwood stadium is a great spot to view the Musical Fountain, and people bring blankets and set up all along the boardwalk. Very fun!

Yelp
This really is a one-of-a-kind experience, and fun for the whole family that you have to see at least once during your stay. Every night is a different playlist, and each performance lasts around 20 minutes. Check it out! You'll be happy that you did.

Yelp
Love the musical fountain! Its a great thing to see with family. Me and my family visit grand haven every year and look forward to see this. Love the view as well. Hope to return and watch again.

Yelp
If you're in Grand Haven in the evening, this is a must see! My husband and I are in our late 20's and we very much enjoyed seeing it while vacationing. Its about a 30 minute show and you can sit on the bleachers, or down by the water. It reminded me of going to the symphony, with the choreographed lights/ shooting water. Very awesome!
