We had an absolutely fantastic vacation on this hotel one week this summer. This hotel have almost everything. Great food, service and atmosphere! Amazing. The service was always fantastic -everyone, the bar staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff and the reception staff was amazing. They cleaned to times every day, I love that. If we need to say something, after stay at many 5 stars hotel earlier we reacted on that the room was so small and the bed was a little hard. The location was a little more far away from everything than we expected. But on the other hand It’s nice and quiet. But if you want to go to Sorrento it’s a little expensive with taxi, and it’s a little bit far to walk to the local town Seiano -but i recommend to go there! After all we love the stay and will definitely recommend this hotel. Very romantic place, you should definitely go. The view is absolutely amazing!

BE AWARE!! Fantastic, wonderful location. Awesome staff, delicious food!. The rooms are really ugly, outdated, and sort of gross. Furniture is extremely dated, old and brown. Nightstand wobbles. Dried caulking where there shouldn't be any. Shower only, no tub, and the water doesn't drain properly. At the end of a 5-minute shower, you'll have dirty soapy water high to your ankles. I'm truly sorry to burst this hotel's bubble, but you are NOT a SLH (small luxury hotel). Again, the staff is incredibly awesome. All of them. They made our 4-day very pleasant. But the status and condition of the rooms just ruins everything else. I would like to also add that this property has been separated from the Hilton portfolio, and I couldn't agree more. Everyone please save your hard-earned money and go elsewhere. It will cost you around $800-900 per night here, and it is not worth that price. In comparison, the Hilton Sorrento Palace is a dream!! Here, the Mattress is completely sunken in and rolls you off the bed its so old. Decorative pillows have stains. Old wooden furniture does not function properly and drawers/doors dont shut properly.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Grand Angiolieri. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views that make every moment unforgettable. The food was exceptional – both in quality and presentation – truly a delight for the senses.||What made the experience even more special was the warm hospitality. The entire staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I would like to give special thanks to Adriana, Emanuella, Annalisa, Ida, and Anna Chiara – each of them was perfectly kind, attentive, and genuine in their care.||It is rare to find such an exclusive experience, with excellent cuisine and heartfelt service. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Grand Angiolieri and very much look forward to returning.

This place was truly magical. The staff was amazing. They were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We ate both evening meals at the hotel. One in the upscale restaurant. Highly recommend. Every bite was better than the next. We had the special tomato menu with wine pairing. The second night we ate at the casual restaurant. Also amazing. The wine menu was well developed. We will be back.

If you are considering booking this hotel and expect a five star experience, think again. The staff was outstanding but the rooms and amenities were not. BEWARE there are rooms that have a tub only and not a shower. We specifically wanted a terrace & booked an upgraded room on the third floor (Room #303). We arrived to find that there was no shower which is positively ridiculous for a five star hotel. We requested a room change to get a shower but did have to spend one night in room #303. This could have been my own mistake but my sister (room #305) was shocked to find the same thing. Additionally, the mattress in room #303 was rock hard. It was almost like sleeping on a tile floor. The next day the staff moved us to room #106 which was a corner suite. It was a very odd layout but it appeared recently renovated AND it had a shower. The shower was upstairs with the bed but there was no mirror & vanity upstairs (just a toilet, shower & tiny sink), so for a woman it required going downstairs to use the sink/mirror/vanity to dry your hair and apply makeup after showering (there was a second bathroom on the main floor but it was really odd that there was a big bathtub sitting right in front of the sitting area and the entrance to the terrace). There was a terrace but it was quite small although it had a nice view. The mattress/bed was comfortable & much better than the rock hard bed on our first night. For our final night we were moved again by the staff in order to have a shower. This time we were in the most basic room they had on the fifth floor (#504). The room was tiny and in dire need of renovating. The shower did not drain well. This was the final stop of our multi week trip to Italy traveling around. I was so excited to arrive at what I was expecting to be a five star hotel with an upgraded suite with a beautiful terrace. Although I appreciated the staff locating rooms for us that had a shower, the packing up repeatedly to move to different rooms was definitely not fun. I will again point out that all of the staff was amazing and helpful throughout our stay. The pool is small & does not have adequate chase lounge chairs for the size of the property. We did not spend a lot of time at the pool but if you want to be able to enjoy the outdoor space at the pool, I would look elsewhere to stay. We would have liked to sit by the pool in the afternoon on the day of our arrival, but there were no chaise loungers available at that time.

This hotel was a complete disappointment and nothing like what’s advertised. Far from five-star standards, it felt more like a dated three-star at best. The atmosphere was low-class, and the reception staff were rude, unhelpful, and clearly untrained. The owner didn’t bother to greet guests, ignored our requests, and couldn’t even communicate properly in English — hardly what one expects at a so-called luxury property. The pool was a joke: cramped, narrow, and always packed. Not a single free sunbed, despite the glossy pictures online. The “view” they boast about is unimpressive at best. Rooms were tiny, dark, and poorly designed. No proper ceiling lights, no sense of space — it felt like being stuck in a mountain chalet rather than a seaside retreat on the Amalfi Coast. Overall, this place is false advertising in its purest form. Don’t be fooled by the five-star label; it’s not luxury, it’s not welcoming, and it’s not worth your money.

We booked a stay here based on its 5 star rating and excellent reviews.|We were totally disappointed.|The best thing I can say is the room is nice with beautiful views.|After that there are so many negatives starting in the room.|As is the custom often in Italy the room key must be used to turn on all the electricity in the room. Then there is a panel with numerous switches to control the lights. I mean please who wants to deal with this. You need your key to operate the elevator, to go through doors on the property. It’s just too much.|The bathroom has a tub. If you want to take a shower you must hold a shower head with one hand as you wash yourself including your hair with your other hand. There is no shower door on the tub so be very careful. |There is a television in the room that only broadcasts one station in English and no music.|There is no sauna or steam on the property.|The pool is very small and if you don’t get there by 9:30am there are no lounge chairs available.|Breakfast is available every morning and that is nice. There is no lunch.|There are 3 restaurants on the property. One only serves pizza. A gourmet restaurant that serves a 13 course Prix fix menu with or without wine that we tried and did not enjoy. The third restaurant has a mixture of items but the menu never changed in the 4 days we were there.|You cannot walk to the town but they do provide a shuttle service.

Review of Grand Hotel Angiolieri (Vico Equense) If anyone books this hotel expecting a five-star experience, brace yourself for a shock. Unless this is the new global standard for luxury, I honestly have no idea how this establishment qualifies. I’ve traveled extensively around the world, and I can say with confidence: this is not five-star hospitality — not even close. The biggest issue here is false advertising. The hotel leans heavily on the Amalfi Coast name to lure in unsuspecting travelers, but in reality, it’s located in VICO EQUENSE — a place with nothing memorable to see or do. If you want the real Amalfi experience, go to Positano, Amalfi Town, or even Sorrento — anywhere but here. The rooms? They feel more like a damp winter cottage in the north than a coastal Italian retreat. The pool? Permanently occupied, chaotic, and far from relaxing. Standards? Practically nonexistent for the level they claim to be. We realized quickly this was not for us and requested a refund for the unused nights so we could salvage the trip elsewhere. They flat-out refused. We didn’t even stay one night, checked out immediately, and they still charged us the full amount — about €1,000 stolen for zero nights stayed. Let me repeat that: they kept €1,000 without us spending a single night there. The staff seemed terrified of the owner, who herself couldn’t even be bothered to address the situation. Rude, dismissive, and utterly unprofessional. At one point, she literally stuck her foot out when we arrived until we looked at her — hardly the gesture of a welcoming host. The whole atmosphere is off. Dirty, unpleasant, and absolutely the opposite of what you’d expect from Italy’s famed hospitality. The fact that people leave five-star reviews is laughable — I even saw someone mention being offered $5 for a five-star review, which suddenly explains a lot. This place is a ripoff, plain and simple. A complete waste of money, energy, and precious holiday time. If there were an option to give negative stars, I absolutely would. Final word: Anyone with taste, class, or the desire to create lasting Italian memories should avoid this hotel — and VICO EQUENSE — at all costs. Save your money, protect your trip, and choose literally anywhere else. PS to compare check out my other reviews. *This is a response to the hotel reply: Follow-Up Response: Thank you for your reply. However, I feel it’s important to clarify several points for future travelers: Refund Policy vs. Reality: I fully understand cancellation policies. The issue was not simply “changing my mind,” but discovering that the hotel did not meet the five-star quality it advertises. We checked in, saw the reality, and immediately checked out without staying a single night. Keeping nearly €1,000 for zero nights stayed may follow your policy, but it certainly doesn’t reflect true hospitality. Owner & Staff Conduct: Your staff told us the owner was not available, when in fact she was right next door and chose not to engage. That lack of honesty and willingness to address concerns only made the situation worse. The tone from staff was condescending, not accommodating — which is the opposite of what one expects from a five-star property. Our Behavior: We were visibly upset because of the situation, but to describe us as “aggressive” or “intimidating” is simply false. We asked direct questions and expected accountability. Writing in the guest book that the place is a ripoff was not an insult but a truthful statement — and in line with our obligation to warn other travelers. Ignored Concerns: Your reply avoids every specific issue raised in my review — misleading advertising, room quality, cleanliness, overcrowded pool, and lack of professionalism. Instead, you focus solely on the refund policy and attempt to discredit me personally. My review stands as a warning: this establishment does not live up to its claims. Future guests deserve to know exactly what they are paying for.
