Grand Hôtel Bellevue****

I don't really know where to start with this hotel. The location is excellent. Right on the Grand Place and a 10 minute stroll from the international station where you'll find the Eurostar. The staff were friendly and happy to help. There was some really lovely decor and fabulous chandeliers and wallpaper. The breakfast was ok, nothing special but not bad either, a standard continental (although lacking in vegetarian alternatives). But. There is literally no disabled access into the hotel. There are large steps up into the building and no other entrance. The hotel advertises an 'accessible room' which we had, and luckily I am an ambulatory wheelchair user so my partner was able to carry my chair up the stairs, but there was no communication to let us know that the hotel would not be suitable for someone who was not ambulant. The elevator is very small and I just managed to squeeze in, in a standard sized chair with power attachment. The 'accessible room' was large, with a big comfortable bed. There was a very large wet room style bathroom but with no shower chair and no grab rails for the shower either. No bath. A very confusing set up!! Good value for money for able bodied people.

This was our fourth time at this hotel and won’t be our last! We love the location and the staff are all lovely. We don’t speak much French (still learning), but are always made to feel welcome and valued. Good breakfast. There has been some refurbishment since we were last here and the new reception area and breakfast room/cafe are lovely. We like to have a signature room overlooking the square. Just beautiful. Thank you all. We’ll be back ☺️

Great location to explore Lille. Hotel is beautiful. Love the rooftop bar. Great that they had water coolers on every floor so you could fill up your water bottles both still and sparkling. Beds are very comfy.||Would gladly stay here again if ever I go to Lille again.

Wow location on the grand place square. We visited Lille for the Christmas market and had. Room with a view of the giant ferris wheel. The view was spectacular. |Rooms are old & modern but very comfortable. Bathroom is lovely.|Although in the centre of the square the rooms were very quiet. |The rooftop bar is great with good views. |I last visited this hotel 22 year ago and have enjoyed our stay again. |Staff are very friendly..

Perfect location for visiting the old town and an easy walk from the station. The staff were superb and very welcoming. The bedrooms are large and the bed is very comfortable. Not all that ‘grand’ but we had a great nights sleep. Roof top bar was enjoyable and would be great in summer when you can sit outside!

Hôtel very clean and modern. Rooms lovely albeit old and you could hear other people in other rooms even someone running their bath! Breakfast lovely fresh selection even though continental and location very good. Would return again to the hotel.

It really does depend on what you’re looking for but if you want peace and quiet, food after 10:30am and a bar open all day this is not for you. If you want to be in the middle of the action, are happy with noise in the hotel (coughing, sneezing, talking and loads of banging doors) and don’t need much space in your room this is for you. Not a four star IMO.

Wonderful hotel, the view from our room was superb. We will definitely come back. The hotel is very central so perfect for sightseeing and the staff are helpful and friendly. It has a lovely rooftop bar and very clean with comfortable beds. Our stay was perfect

This wasn't the fanciest hotel, but it was kind of cute and the people were really nice. The location is also pretty great. It's right on the Square, close to restaurants and shopping. I liked the old-fashioned feel of the hotel. It made me think of the movie Grand Budapest Hotel. The bathrooms were nice, but the bathroom door was not. It's stuck and made noise and didn't feel super private. Good blackout shades and comfortable bed. We weren't feeling 100% the day we stayed here, so we stayed in at night and streamed the sopranos, but it sounded like more fun outside. It was clean, comfortable, not terribly expensive and located in a great neighborhood.

Overall, I was very pleased with my stay here. I traveled to Lille for work, and stayed for 6 nights in the Best Western Bellevue. The location is phenomenal - right in the heart of Vieux Lille, steps from the Rihour Metro station, and from tons of shops and restaurants. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Unlike previous reviewers, my bathroom had certainly been updated. It was also spacious with a full bath and hand-shower, a rarity by European standards. There was a flat-screen TV in my room, with 2 English channels, including BBC News. The room itself is decorated in a Henry XVI style (obviously not real antique furniture), fitting with the classic style of the hotel. The only disappointments were: 1) Very thin walls - when neighbours watched TV or spoke on phone, I could hear everything. 2) The wireless internet was VERY slow and spotty, dropping out randomly, making Skype calls difficult. Internet access was free, so I suppose I shouldn't complain! If these two issues weren't present, I would certainly have given this hotel 5 stars.

Really nice hotel with a great location. The bathroom was huge. The bed was nice. The staff were really friendly. As a note, the entrance is in the back of the building opposite of the center public square. That was unexpected.
