Grand Hotel Bristol Resort & Spa

Our stay at the Grand Bristol was relaxing and beautiful, the property made me feel like I was in a Wes Anderson movie! The rooms were clean, staff was kind and the view out of the balcony to the sea was incredible. Our stay also included access to the bathes and spa, which was gorgeous but busy, even in early October. We did not have a chance to sit by the beautiful pool due to the weather and other planned excursions, but we can't wait to come back! Thank you for adding to an unforgettable honeymoon experience!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Grand Hotel Bristol. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff is incredible. From the moment we were picked up at the train station by the hotel shuttle, to the check in process to check out and everything in between, this was a complete 5 star experience.||We had a Deluxe Sea View room and it was very comfortable. It was such a pleasure to wake up in the morning and look out at the gorgeous view. We were able to see the entire coastline from Rapallo to Santa Margherita Liguria, to Portofino.||The spa was certainly a highlight. We took advantage of the facility every day of our visit. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool. Since it was off season, we pretty much had the pool area to ourselves. The outdoor pool is not heated, but it was still comfortable enough for me to swim.||We had dinner at La Veranda the first night and it was very good. The cocktail bar was beautiful as well.||As I said, the staff were incredible and a particular thank you to Chiara!||I highly recommend a stay at The Grand Hotel Bristol and we will certainly be back!

We stayed in GHB for 3 night recently when visiting the area and the hotel was just perfect. The location is great just a short drive outside Rapallo and only 20 mins from portofino. Luckily the hotel also offer a complimentary shuttle service into Rapallo which we done a few times. The staff are super friendly and helpful and couldn't do more to make you feel welcome, especially the lovely host on breakfast she has lovely energy! The bed was super comfy the best nights sleep we've had in a long time. If we ever return to Rapallo then we most certainly will be staying at grand hotel Bristol

The hotel is a short walk out of town along scenic but winding roads and pathways, and the uphill climb to the reception can be daunting. Lifts are small but does its job (and you only have to swipe your card in the lift, you don't have to press button for your floor). I have to say the rooms were nice, light and airy and fairly large for an Italian hotel, the bathroom was reasonably sized. The best feature of the rooms are its hot water with really good water pressure. Lovely views across the bay, and the food was nice (dinners and the breakfast buffets). More importantly, the service provided by the staff was exceptional. Great housekeeping and cleaning and replenishing of things, getting us a hot water kettle, organising laundry. Fantastic service that made our stay a most enjoyable one. Thank you.

We stayed three nights at the Grand Hotel Bristol and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the entire staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The concierge was amazing, he gave us great advice on exploring Portofino and Cinque Terre and made everything easy.||||Our room was spotless and comfortable, and we really appreciated the hotel’s shuttle service super convenient for getting to town and back. Breakfast each morning was delicious and beautifully presented, and dinner at Le Cupole, the rooftop restaurant on the 6th floor, was outstanding — a perfect four-course experience with a stunning sea view.||||Everything about this hotel made our stay special. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!

We stayed 3 nights at the Grand hotel Bristol Spa. As my husband had diamond Hilton status we were upgraded to an Seaview room which was lovely. It was spacious and comfortable. On arrival we were given welcome drinks in the lounge which was a lovely touch. We also found a gift in our room, a fruit plate and bottle of Prosecco. ||The best part about the hotel is the access to the wellness spa. It’s just great to get back to the hotel of an evening and use the facilities. ||Breakfast was included in our stay and it was lovely to sit on the terrace each morning and enjoy the view. ||The hotel is a 15 minute walk out of the centre of town. The hotel runs a shuttle service which goes to and from the town regularly. ||On our departure day, they even dropped us at the station so we could catch the train to our next destination.

We have just completed two weeks at this hotel. The staff (without exception) are a credit to themselves and the hotel. Friendly, professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is spotless, but does show it's age a little - for us that was part of the charm. The food and drinks were delicious.|By way of advice to others, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, retreat type of holiday, this probably isn't the place for you. Certainly the sea view rooms suffer from traffic noise from the busy road below and from the busy train line a little further away.|This is also the case when using the swimming pool and sunbathing terrace. This isn't a complaint, just an observation.|The reason I have given it a four star rather than a five star review is because of the behaviour of some of their French guests. The hotel is dog friendly, but some of the guests allowed their dogs to wander around the breakfast and restaurant area without leads or control, settling on the feet of other diners and generally causing a nuisance. The same guests allowed their pets to wander around the pool and sunbathing areas unsupervised and thought it was acceptable for the dogs to pee in those areas. The hotel failed to deal with this and their response was "We've had a lot of complaints about this, but what can we do? The guests have paid a lot of money to stay here and think that gives them the right to do what they want.". What about the other guests who have also paid a lot of money to stay here? This was our only complaint. Other than that we enjoyed our stay immensely.

So GHB looks, from the front, somewhat like the Grand Budapest Hotel in the film with Ralph Fiennes. We went for an end of summer stay and were bowled over by the welcome, the professionalism, the attention and quality. It’s the staff that make the place. Le Cupole on the top floor is superstar quality with every single mouthful bringing a smile. The Veranda is a bit more democratic in its pricing but the quality isn’t compromised. The spa is breathtaking. It’s already our joint top favourite hotel anywhere.
