Grand Hotel - by Classic Norway Hotels

I had the pleasure of staying at Grand Hotel – by Classic Norway Hotels, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hotel perfectly blends classic charm with modern comfort. The rooms were beautifully furnished, spacious, and offered a relaxing atmosphere with thoughtful details throughout. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and professional, always ready to assist with a warm smile. The breakfast selection was excellent — fresh, delicious, and served in a cozy setting. Its central location made it convenient for exploring the area, yet the hotel maintained a peaceful and elegant ambiance. A wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for authentic Norwegian hospitality combined with high-quality service. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! Rooms were beautiful, we had a great view and the beds were so comfy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and dinner were amazing! Easy walk to all activities. The parking was limited but there are other locations nearby, we were lucky and got the last spot for the evening. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at the hotel for 2 nights. Nice and clean roon as expected, but no air condition that makes the room so hot when staying specially in the summertime and the window had a defect that we couldn't open it widely. Breakfast was just perfect. Good service and lastly great location, just a walking distance to the attractions the place has to offer.

Stay at Grand Hotel for just one night. The breakfast was out of my expectations. The variety of drinks and foods made me feel so regret that i should wake up early to enjoy the food. The hotel location is excellent, walking distance to everywhere. But of cuz, better to have a car so to go further. I met two sweet front desk staff and several nice restaurant staff. Sorry could not recall their names but truly thank you for making my stay wonderful. Last but not least, the room is decent and i have a good sleep. No need to hurry because check out at 12:00

Stayed there recently, Had a lovely stay. A good choice. The young lady on reception was very helpful (& provided a town walking map too). Room was clean and we had a view over the fjord. Lounge areas on the ground floor were spacious and relaxing. Breakfast buffet was lovely (& you can also buy a foam container to pack some in for a later picnic). Wifi (250Mbps) was great. Nice restaurant on the ground floor too (need a reservation) - menu was different to the website.

Very quaint older hotel in a very quaint town. Inca at the front desk was exceptionally nice. Very close to the gondola. Gondola is excellent and Eggar's restaurant is fantastic! Room looks recently updated, very clean, very neat, heated floors in the bathroom. Elevator. Nice hotel in a small scenic town. Mountain and fjord views from the room. Very large breakfast. No electrical outlets in the bathroom?

We had a great stay at the Grand Hotel and the staff there was very helpful with our hiking questions. It was also nice that breakfast was included. They also offer a shuttle to the start of the Romsdalseggen hike which is great because the hike ends up back in Andalsnes so you can walk back to the Grand Hotel when you’re finished with your hike. There is shortage of parking at this hotel and it can feel like a bit of a game of musical chairs to find a spot. If you’re doing things around the town that are close enough to do without a car, leave your car in the lot and you might be able to avoid the scramble to find a spot when you return. Finally, it would be nice if the hotel had fans in the room at a minimum, because there is no air conditioning and it can get hot in the rooms at night in the month of July.

Perfect for a 1-night stay. Central location in Andalsnes with easy parking in front. Beautiful views in all directions. Superior rooms were a bit small but fine for 1-night. Breakfast was ok. Food could be presented in a more appetizing way but it does the job. Friendly, helpful service.

Pros: Modern room Great breakfast with large variety Really nice views (I believe on both sides of the hotel) Clean Large rooms Quiet Walking distance from a great hike Coffee machine in room and also coffee/water available in lobby -Parking lot is small for the size of the hotel and gets full around 7pm. As a result we couldn't drive anywhere for dinner so had to eat in the immediate area (minimal choice) -Location: minimal restaurants in walking distance and even few within driving distance
