First of all I was charged 1500 egp instead of the 616 as displayed. The service was non existant, no soap or shampoo, no wifi connection, overall very bad. Won't recommend to anyone.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Cairo for a week-long getaway with my partner, and I can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we've had. From the moment we arrived, the service, views, and facilities exceeded our expectations. The hotel is situated in the heart of Cairo, just a short walk from the iconic Nile River and many of the city's key attractions, including the Egyptian Museum and Tahrir Square. It's a vibrant area, so you’re in the middle of the action, but the hotel itself offers a peaceful escape with its classic grandeur. There are several wonderful restaurants and shops nearby, and taxis are easily accessible for exploring other parts of the We were greeted by a warm and professional front desk team. Check-in was swift, and we were offered a welcome drink—freshly brewed hibiscus tea and local delicacies. The staff took the time to explain the hotel's amenities and gave us a map of Cairo, highlighting great spots to visit and dine. The space was spacious and elegant, with traditional decor combined with modern comfort. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, and the large windows offered breathtaking views of the Nile River. The marble bathroom was luxurious, featuring a large soaking tub and a rain shower. The housekeeping team did an excellent job of keeping everything pristine. The hotel’s rooftop terrace provides panoramic views of Cairo and is an ideal place to relax with a drink after a long day of sightseeing. The outdoor pool is large and beautifully designed, offering a tranquil setting amidst the bustling city. The on-site restaurant serves delicious Egyptian and Mediterranean dishes, with an excellent breakfast buffet that includes fresh bread, hummus, falafel, and local fruits. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service to major attractions around Cairo, which was very convenient for us. What truly sets the Grand Hotel Cairo apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member we interacted with was professional, friendly, and attentive. From arranging a private tour of the pyramids to ensuring our room was always in top condition, the staff went above and beyond. The concierge was particularly helpful in giving us local tips and recommendations, including a fantastic off-the-beaten-path restaurant near the Khan El Khalili market. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout the hotel, which is important for us as we needed to check in with work occasionally. There was also a small business center available in case we needed to print documents or make last-minute arrangements. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the hotel can be a bit pricey compared to other options in Cairo, especially with the added cost of guided tours and some of the premium amenities. However, the quality of the stay certainly justifies the price. Additionally, while the hotel’s location is central, the street noise from outside can sometimes be noticeable, so light sleepers might want to request a higher floor or a room facing the Nile. Grand Hotel Cairo offers an exceptional blend of luxury, comfort, and culture in one of the world’s most fascinating cities. From the breathtaking views of the Nile to the impeccable service and rich history of the property, our stay was truly unforgettable. We left feeling enriched by our time in Cairo and already planning our return. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city who’s looking for a blend of local charm and world-class service.

The only reason I give it 2 stars is the staff who are so friendly, respectful and cooperative. The hotel is so old without recent renovation. The bathroom/ shower need lots of work so that you can use it comfortably. The breakfast (included) is in a hall without AC that makes you get cooked. The price is too much for such accommodation.

Never again. The receptionist is not qualified to deal with guest requirements. All items in breakfast were not suitable for diabetics. Room AC was not working and it was a window type. No tissue at restaurant toilet and was not cleaned, just HK sign as if job done. Was my bad luck or hotel bad management?

I have just returned from a weeks stay here which has been my first since 2011. I am delighted to say that not only has the hotel been redecorated but also that the general area has been cleaned up and is back to 'normal'. At the hotel the rooms are still large and spacious but now even nicer following redecoration. Likewise the public spaces. Also the staff were so friendly and helpful and it was great to see the old faces still employed there. As far as the local area goes, life goes on and it is once again a place for families to shop and eat. Absolutely loved the vibe which was relaxed, well as relaxed as Cairo gets!
