The hotel is in the heart of Orange, quick strolls away from both the Roman theater and the Arc de Triomphe. I stayed in a tiny single room which wqs okay for one night without luggage but wouldn’t be able to fit a proper sized suitcase. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant which has a lovely huge terrace in front of the main entrance and it was a lovely experience on a balmy summer night. The fish with ratatouille was nicely done, nothing too creative, just tasty French food paired perfectly with a glass of rose. The restaurant staff seemed a bit overwhelmed on a busy Saturday service but overall the hotel staff was very kind and welcoming.|Sightseeing overwrote the breakfast plans but based on the dinner’s quality, it is probably a worthy experience for 17 euros. The room was fairly pricey but nothing unexpected on a summer weekend with a festival and concerts in town. Would happily stay here again on a return trip to Orange.

This hotel is nicely located in the center of Orange, in easy walking distance to the Roman Theatre, Place de La République, and other attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious enough. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. I would like to recommend the Grand Hotel d'Orange, but I cannot. We stayed here in August when the high temps were close to 38 degrees (~100 F) into the late afternoon. However the hotel policy prohibits guests from individually lowering the thermostat. As a result two of our rooms were uncomfortably warm, even overnight, and made our stay much less pleasant than it otherwise would have been. I was told this is part of their "Green Key" sustainability policy and there were no exceptions -- regardless of the ongoing record heat wave. We appreciate the climate friendly efforts but under the circumstances this seemed more like virtue signaling. There are other ways the hotel could address worthy climate goals that don't make the guest experience so unpleasant. Hopefully some common sense will prevail in the future.

Five stars? Not even close — it’s more like three at best. The hotel is located in a great area, offering a casino, spa, children’s play area, a large pool zone, and direct access to the beach — and yes, the staff are indeed very friendly and professional.

We had a wonderful stay! Our room was very spacious with a large, comfortable bed and a big, clean bathroom. The design was elegant and relaxing, and we loved the L’Occitane products. The staff were warm and helpful – we ordered coffee to the room, and it arrived quickly with a pain au chocolat as a gift. Such a thoughtful and warm gesture! Breakfast was nice too – we might have been a bit late, so there was no ham and the boiled eggs were cold, but the pastries, scrambled eggs and toast were all delicious. The hotel is in a charming location, and the parking (in a nearby lot) was super convenient. Very quiet at night – we slept incredibly well. Would absolutely come back!

Hi Grand Hôtel D'Orange team! Thank you so much for your service! We had such a great stay during the POSITIV Festival weekend and felt so comfortable and at home here! We loved the tidiness, cleanliness and how good the housekeeping was! The hotel is also in such a perfect location to cafes, restaurants and other amazing landmarks in D'Orange. Would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to visit this beautiful part of Southern France. Shoutout to Ethan the owner, a great new friend we've made along the way on our travel journey, you made our weekend! 🤗 Kind Regards Jason and Steph (from Sydney, Australia!)

Le grand hôtel orange|Charming hotel, in a peaceful square in the heart of Orange. Well positioned to walk anywhere in the town. We received a warm helpful welcome and found all the staff very helpful taking pride in offering the best experience. ||The room was small but absolutely charming with a small balcony with a table and two chairs. Idyllic. The bathroom spotlessly clean, modern with shower and also charming offering my favourite L'occitane products to use during our stay including shampoo, conditioner and body lotion! ||Tea and coffee making facilities. |Good powerful hairdryer and plenty of power points. ||Breakfast offered seating outside in the shady square that was delightful. ||However, the only disappointment was the poor breakfast that was short on healthy options. NO cut fresh fruit! Just a few apples in a bowl. Only sugary yoghurt until I asked and was supplied some fromage frais. Only cheese was a tiny slice of brie that quickly disappeared. Not refilled. Bread just white. I cleared the table myself. Think breakfast experience needs improvement to align with the high standards set elsewhere. ||All in all highly recommended and the town an absolute delight!

My stay was superb! The hotel literally couldn’t be better situated. If you’ll look at Google Maps you’ll see it’s perfect. Walk 4 min to amphitheater and 15 to arc, but cafe’s and shops are right out the front door. Lou and Sandrine at check in were the best at giving advice on the shops and even suggested towns for the rest of my trip. They were both extremely friendly, which is always refreshing and absolutely lovey. The breakfast was extensive. There were way more options than I knew what to do with, delicious scrambled eggs, bacon and all the usual meats etc. but so much more. The young man at breakfast was very kind and attentive. I had a huge and I mean HUGE room. I really truly enjoyed my stay. I wish I took more photos but sadly only an overnight but I will be back and will definitely stay here. Highly recommend.

The location is amazing. This hotel is in the center of the Roman / medieval town of Orange. You can spend a wonderful day walking to all the Roman ruins and then return easily at night for dinner and the Roman Odessey sound show in the amphitheater. Easy drive to nearby Provence towns like Viasion le Romain.
