We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights and had a great time exploring the beautiful island of Malta. We arrived at the hotel just after 3pm and were checked in quickly by a very professional member of staff and given the keys to room 209. This room was very large with a lovely view of old stone walls and a side view of the harbour area. It was very quiet which is important to me! Housekeeping was excellent and nothing was missed, our towels were replaced every day and we were left a couple of bottles of water every day as well. The hotel is very dated but also very comfortable and we both slept very well. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment to be honest, I usually gauge quality by the coffee and orange juice served and both were absolutely dreadful! There was a sign saying that the coffee is the best Colombian coffee but it didn’t even smell like coffee! Guessing it was instant and the orange juice was disgusting. The rest of breakfast was okay though for a large hotel. ||If you are fit and well the hotel is in a really great location as it’s about a 10 minute walk into town but there’s about 75 steps to exit the hotel. There’s a shuttle bus that can take you into Valletta if that’s a problem, think it leaves every 20 minutes.||The hotel is very dated so if you’re looking for trendy decor this definitely isn’t the hotel for you, but if you are looking for a quiet base pretty central to Valletta with spectacular views it is pretty good! We liked it!

What a wonderful hotel to spend Christmas. We were so well looked after. Service was excellent from front of house to restaurant/bar staff to spa/pool and room service. The food was excellent. Food and drink very reasonable prices. Courtesy bus very handy into Valletta. Parts of hotel are in need of some work but only minor things. Pool warmed up luckily over the days we were there as was a bit chilly at start. My husband enjoyed his massage and use of spa which was additional. We would definitely return.

Pretty unimpressed with this hotel. Upon entering it has a lovely appearance and we were given a free drink while checking in. After that there was no offer to have our luggage taken to our room. The room was dank, dark and the balcony view was pretty sad having to look at a dirty wall. Outside the hotel smells of mould. A couple of hours after check-in I tried to have a nap, but a cleaning lady tried barging into the room even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door. She asked to clean the room and I responded politely that it would not be necessary as we had just checked in and the room is clean. She responded saying no one was meant to be checked in to the room and gave me a dirty look before she eventually left after I told her again that we had just checked in and repeated that the room is clean. This interaction made me feel unsafe and just made me feel aware that staff maybe don’t communicate with each other well and don’t respect the privacy of guests. The cost of this hotel is not worth what they offer and it does not feel luxurious as they seem to advertise. I’ll also add that they provide a warning not to drink the tap water as it is not safe, I made myself a tea from said tap water as I forgot, and had to use the bottled water provided to make any hot drinks after that, considering staff are aware of the bad tap water, more water should be provided for the room as it takes two bottles to fill the kettle which left us with one bottle for drinking water, this is concerning. My husband and I will not be returning here. Thanks but no thanks.

Given the mixed reviews of past guests, our expectations were not high for this hotel. However, we have just returned from a very pleasant 7 night stay and I am happy to be able to leave a positive review.|Checking in was very efficient with a very helpful and chatty member of staff - she also did the check out a week later. Our room on the ground floor had a nice view over the pool area and was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the fridge was very useful for storing milk for morning tea. |Breakfasts were just OK but I was glad to find that the coffee has been upgraded to a very strong brew, unlike the weak stuff some of the previous reviewers reported. Fruit was good but some of the cooked ingredients were of low quality. The Turkish style items and salads were good, however. We ate only one other meal in the hotel, a reasonable sandwich in the bar. Drinks and service in the bar were fine.|The location of the hotel is excellent and the 88 shallow steps up to the town gate were never an issue. The bus station is close, and it is less than 30 mins walk from St Elmo fort and the Gozo fast ferry terminal.|Overall, I would have to agree that the hotel needs refurbishment and I can imagine that staff could be overwhelmed at really busy times. However, I would be happy to stay here again.

We stayed here during the Summer of 2024 for a week. We opted for breakfast included during our stay and the large variety of options available was really good. Our twin room was spacious and clean and the pool area was really nice too. The hotel is walking distance to Valletta city centre, so was very convenient for us to get around. The bar on the ground floor made really nice cocktails and had various musical entertainment in the evening which was nice. Most of the staff were friendly and approachable. Our main criticism was the pool bar was very busy so it was not run as efficiently as the indoor restaurants and orders got lost or took ages to arrive. The outdoor eating area for the pool bar also had dirty plates of food that hadn’t been cleaned away which attracted pigeons. Nevertheless, this was not entirely off putting so I would stay here again.

We spent a very enjoyable break over the New Year period. The hotel is well furnished and very comfortable, however the bedroom we stayed in was in need of some TLC as the carpet was showing signs of wear and the easy chair & furniture looked tired and worn. Also, some of the floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked. Having said this both the service and the breakfast was excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive and the choice of continental and cooked food at breakfast was extensive. It is also in a great location as only a short distance away from the centre of Valletta and although there are steps from the hotel to street level the hotel operates a free regular shuttle service.

Lovely five star hotel very close to sea, bus station and main streets. Decor is a bit dated but the hotel is only 18 years old. Very pleasant staff. Nice harbour view bar for snacks. Options of other dining experiences, but many opt to dine in Valetta. Shuttle bus service from hotel to the city gates. Great discounts in January and February.

A great hotel with excellent service. While it is a luxurious property, its age is noticeable. The rooms are somewhat worn and could use an upgrade, but staying here is still an enjoyable experience. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The pool area is fantastic, and the beach is charming. The gym has all the essentials you need. Breakfast is excellent, offering a wide selection and high-quality options. The location is ideal, with a short distance to Valletta city center and the ferry to Sliema.
