Grand Hotel Excelsior Port Royal

My dining experience at the Grand Hotel Excelsior restaurant was exceptional. The beachfront ambiance created a relaxing and elegant atmosphere, complemented by enjoyable music and attentive service. The food exceeded expectations — the Shipmates Jerk Shrimp Pasta, Pan-Seared Salmon, and Brown Stew Fish were all prepared excellently and worthy of a 10/10 rating. I would also like to acknowledge our server, Chadeere, for her outstanding hospitality. She checked in on us consistently and ensured that our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. Her professionalism and warmth were genuinely appreciated. Overall, the Grand Hotel Excelsior restaurant is a wonderful choice for anyone seeking a serene beachfront setting paired with high-quality cuisine and commendable service.

My experience at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Restaurant was awful. Not only did my family and i take an hour and a half to get our food but when the bill arrived, additional costs were added which did not correspond with the menu nor was prior communicated. The quality of the food (specifically the fish) was unpalatable. The steaming of the fish was inadequate, the bammy served with the fish was undercooked and the pastas were extremely spicy. Overall, my family and i did not leave this restaurant satisfied.

Very expensive for a room that definitely was not worth that much. I ve seen hotel bathrooms have no locks on bathroom door, here there is no door at all for the bathroom/ toilet. The bath area (yes it was a small area not a bath tub) had a hole in the ceiling with a pipe with shower head poking out with Luke warm water.. No free plug points near the bed (only one in the entire room next to their minim fridge). No blanket provided. The room just felt "SAD".

The worst!!! No bottled water no vending machines no ice, tvs not working, rooms filthy, old, cockroaches, hallway infested with pigeons or whatever they were, whose excrement coated the walls as well as the hand railings and floor. Had to move 3 times to get a decent room. When we finally got a decent room it was time to leave. They overcharged everything and the bar we’re passing off lower priced liquor as the top shelf stuff. Never ever again! We were overcharged for the rooms and they wanted to charge $400 for an additional person to be in the room.

I stayed at this hotel for my friend's wedding and the service was unacceptable. I paid for the room as they were getting it prepared. Once they told me the room was ready, I went to the room, took a shower, and laid down to take a nap. The front desk clerk came and knocked on the door like 3 hours later saying that I need to pay more money. I asked to speak to the manager and he says that she made a mistake but I need to pay more money, because her drawer is short and she cant leave until the drawer is clear. I paid the money but I feel they had got over. I also witnessed my friend, the bride being told to tell her guests to get out of the pool or the police would be called. To attract business from the customers that help make your hotel a successful place to have, being treated like that makes me never want to return. Ill be spending my money somewhere else when I go back to Jamaica. This hotel was disappointing for my first visit to Jamaica!!

It wasn't what we were used to. They were renovating. The staff was very nice. The location is close to the airport and right by the water. The onsite restaurant was nice with great views. I will stay there again on our next visit. Hopefully, the renovations will be complete.

We stopped for a few days to rest before going home via Kingston airport, great location loved the water view. The staff were so professional attentive and helpful. They had a Dragon boat race and showed the UAFA football match on large screen so the weekend was buzzing. We took a boat trip from the Hotel and that was fun. This Jamaican owned hotel has new Jamaican managers that are bringing great changes.

I can't speak about the rooms as I only went to the restaurant with my family. Food was awful, it's the first place I have been to that spoils such simple meals. How can you not make fries properly???? To make matters worse, the service was poor. They had requested making reservations prior along with your order. When we arrived we waited half hour without any assistance. Then when we were finally seated the food came in parts and to make matters even worse it was cold and awful. No microwave to warm it? We went on karaoke night, which was a Friday, so that brought the vibe. That was the only good part about it. The water is not even well kept anymore.
