Grand Hotel Excelsior Port Royal

We stopped by to have a few drinks. It was my husband's place to go as it's the Home of the James Bond movie Dr.NO. The view and location were perfectly within walking distance of the cruise port. The staff was friendly and professional. It's worth the stop. We had a good time and took some nice pictures.

The room was spacious and clean. The compound was aesthetically wonderful. It has been there from colonial times. There was a cabaret singer one of the nights i was there (entertainment). I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. I found the staff to be very engaging. They had a genuinely pleasant demeanor; wanting to know how I was doing. I do recommend Grand Hotel Excelsior!

Special thanks to Hanief and Zaviann for making my stay so special!!!!! I spent 2 nights, rooms were clean, beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, staff was very warm and welcoming!! And to top it off the restaurant was clean, spacious, food was absolutely Delicious!!!! I WISH I COULD RATE IT 10/10!

Pros - It's 15 mins from the airport, located right on the water, complimentary breakfast, low key nice fishing village vibe and quiet. Cons - needs a little updating, it is 30 - 45 mins from the city.

My husband and I stayed here just after him landing in Jamaica not wanting to drive home so late in a rural area. I reserved for a King Room but got a Queen instead. Staff obviously not paying attention. The grounds of the hotel was exceptionally clean and our room was moderately cleaned. After settling in, I realized we had no internet access, went to the front desk and they told me the Digicel network was down even though it was working on my phone.The room had a musty scent on entering. The shower lever was broken and we had to make the most of adjusting. I could not prepare myself a cup of coffee even though the condiments were there because the percolator was dirty. Someone tried opening our door at around 9:30pm causing me to scream out waking my husband who was already tired from all that travelling. We were glad to leave the following morning and I went for breakfast which was all American food (Yuk) , Nothing for him, as he is a pescatarian and had to get breakfast outside of the hotel. The grilled tomato was awful. The only thing I left pleased about was the coffee, it was black and strong just the way I like it.

Fixtures and furniture need to be updated. Pictures on the website are a lie. Stayed for 2 nights. We booked the room 210. The room was poorly cleaned, hair on the beds, mold in the shower, tap barely running. The sink drain was blocked causing the bathroom to have an awful smell so we had to be moved to room 306. Room needed more cleaning but was way better than the room we initially got. The food was AMAZING and our waitress Shinelle was very professional. Hotel has potential. Just needs a lot of fixing. Only a few persons were staying on the property

I didn't stay at the resort. Just passed through for an event and the service was excellent. The bartender was excellent. She had a very warm personality. She is dsrk,natural hair and of big built but average big hope this description helps find her and gives her her flowers

So this is in the safest place in Jamaica, which is awesome. Huge room, jacuzzi bath! Ferocious air con which was welcome and a range of channels on the TV. Breakfast included but was limited to french toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes if they have any left, and fruit. Tea, coffee and one flavour of juice. The swimming pool is shut till mid morning, the actual sea there is gross, dont swim in it. Security called a man with a boat who took us to Lime Cay which was good of them.
