Grand Hotel Excelsior Port Royal

My family of 4 visited this hotel 1/19-1/26/2026 and we loved it! It’s minutes from Norman Manley Airport in the quiet town of Port Royal. This was my home away from home. The rooms are air conditioned and clean, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and the staff is very friendly. The sunsets are stunning and breakfast and dinner are well worth the wait. I didn’t use the pool during my stay but it looked nice, clean and inviting, instead I found my way to the local public beach down the road and around the corner. I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to return.

My dining experience at the Grand Hotel Excelsior restaurant was exceptional. The beachfront ambiance created a relaxing and elegant atmosphere, complemented by enjoyable music and attentive service. The food exceeded expectations — the Shipmates Jerk Shrimp Pasta, Pan-Seared Salmon, and Brown Stew Fish were all prepared excellently and worthy of a 10/10 rating. I would also like to acknowledge our server, Chadeere, for her outstanding hospitality. She checked in on us consistently and ensured that our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. Her professionalism and warmth were genuinely appreciated. Overall, the Grand Hotel Excelsior restaurant is a wonderful choice for anyone seeking a serene beachfront setting paired with high-quality cuisine and commendable service.

My experience at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Restaurant was awful. Not only did my family and i take an hour and a half to get our food but when the bill arrived, additional costs were added which did not correspond with the menu nor was prior communicated. The quality of the food (specifically the fish) was unpalatable. The steaming of the fish was inadequate, the bammy served with the fish was undercooked and the pastas were extremely spicy. Overall, my family and i did not leave this restaurant satisfied.

Very expensive for a room that definitely was not worth that much. I ve seen hotel bathrooms have no locks on bathroom door, here there is no door at all for the bathroom/ toilet. The bath area (yes it was a small area not a bath tub) had a hole in the ceiling with a pipe with shower head poking out with Luke warm water.. No free plug points near the bed (only one in the entire room next to their minim fridge). No blanket provided. The room just felt "SAD".

The hotel was nice and the staff are amazing. There are no phones in the room that we had. I don’t know if all of the rooms are like the but it seems they are updating the construction around the hotel.

Gorgeous setting on Port Royal at Grand Hotel Excelsior. Lovely music and ambience 🥰 even saw a Ray jump out the water while’s sipping on a glass of Ice cold white wine 🥰

It was a lovely place to experience. I you and individual that loves tranquility and not into the loud and extraordinary you will like it here. I would visit again.

It wasn't what we were used to. They were renovating. The staff was very nice. The location is close to the airport and right by the water. The onsite restaurant was nice with great views. I will stay there again on our next visit. Hopefully, the renovations will be complete.
