Grand Hotel Gozo is a good place to stay when in Gozo, located just up the road from Mgarr harbour. The rooms are pretty decent to be honest - often quite spacious, especially the rooms with a nice balcony view. Worth getting the upgrade if you can! Service in the bar can be a bit patchy at times, though. I'm sorry to say that sometimes the staff come across as a little cold and stressed out. They could probably update the bar area generally, it kind of gives retirement home vibes! Overall, a nice hotel! I haven't tried their restaurant so I cannot comment on that or the quality of the food provided.

The Grand Hotel in Mgarr, Gozo, is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for stunning views and warm hospitality. The location is unbeatable—perched above the harbor, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramas of the Mediterranean and Comino. Watching the sunrise from my balcony and lounging by the outdoor pool with those sweeping vistas made my trip truly memorable.||The staff here are genuinely exceptional. From the moment I arrived, everyone was friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. I want to give a special mention to the room cleaner, who kept everything spotless and was always cheerful and accommodating. The rooms themselves are comfortable, with good air conditioning—much appreciated during the warm Gozo days.||Food at the Grand Hotel is a real highlight. Breakfast is generous and varied, but the rooftop restaurant is the true gem. It absolutely deserves its Michelin status; every meal was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. For anyone passionate about food, dining here is a must. The rooftop bar, with its panoramic views, is a lovely spot to unwind, though it was the only area that offered a bit of respite from the lively family atmosphere.||That said, the hotel is very family-friendly, which means the pool and common areas can get quite noisy with children. Even the rooftop bar, while more relaxed, still allowed children, which made it difficult to find a truly peaceful, adults-only space. This was very disappointing, especially for those seeking a quiet retreat.||Overall, the Grand Hotel Mgarr stands out for its spectacular views, outstanding food, and genuinely kind staff. If you’re traveling with family, it’s an excellent choice. If you’re hoping for a tranquil, adults-only experience, just be aware that quiet spaces don't exist. Still, the hospitality and culinary experience make it well worth a visit. ||

I spent 17 days at the Grand Hotel in Gozo. The hotel has amazing views of Mgarr Harbor. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable with soft white linens. I enjoyed meeting Ramesh, the room keeper. Every morning, he always had a smile on his face and he made sure that I did not need anything. Every time I saw Youssef, the Manager, in the lobby, he always acknowledged me and asked me how I’m doing. He was so friendly and professional. The reception workers Rod, Simon, Yana and Jennifer are also so helpful. Breakfast was also very pleasant. The buffet was great and Rahul, Alook and Julian were very attentive to the guests. The pool is very nice with fantastic view of Mgarr Harbor. I also want to acknowledge Paul, Justin and Pushcar. They work very hard and still made time to check that I had everything I need. I ended my stay with a nice massage from Jella at the spa. My holiday was fantastic! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a pleasant stay in Gozo.

Read the bad reviews so was concerned but didn’t need to be it was a lovely hotel..the staff aren’t the best but you can’t beat the price and lovely views!! Our room was clean and spacious .. booked a superior twin in the new wing . The pool is amazing… we really rated our visit here and would stay again. Just not a lot of customer service if that bothers you… it didn’t us…. Highly recommend and I’m very fussy!!! The breakfast was average but still the whole deal was great value…. Go to ferdies restaurant a few doors down from hotel rather than walking down the hill…. Great food and cheap!! We will definitely return here.

Had another lovely holiday at the Grand Hotel Gozo. The young man Harion who cleaned our room was so friendly and put a smile on your face. It was so nice see him in a morning. If you stay there and bump into him you won't be disappointed. I would also like to say the bar staff are so friendly and welcoming.

Beware of this hotel! The description and photos of the hotel do not correspond to reality. The photos in the description were probably taken when the hotel opened, over 20 years ago. It is hard to imagine how it could be classified as 4 stars. The hotel is very old and full of mold, there is a foul smell everywhere and the cleanliness is deplorable. I chose this hotel because of the reviews but they have nothing to do with reality. I received a room that smelled of mold, the bathroom was infected with all the rusty plumbing, dust, hairs everywhere. I requested a replacement and was offered a superior room I did not care if it was superior with a balcony if it was just as infected, I care if it was clean. Unfortunately, this one was the same. I realized that all the rooms are the same, the cleanliness is practically non-existent, the bathroom plumbing looks terrible and is rusty everywhere, the windows are not washed, there is a strong smell of old and mold, the carpet in the hallways is not washed. The toilet bowl did not work properly, the fan in the bathroom made an infernal noise. The refrigerator does not cool, it practically maintains the temperature as in the room. Very old furniture. The elevators are not washed. Spiders everywhere. A horror movie could be filmed in this hotel. If the rooms look like that, I wonder what the kitchen where they cook looks like. The hotel urgently needs renovation.

We've had a brilliant time here, we are on the 7th floor with a beautiful view of the harbour and sea, clean tidy room spacious housekeeping very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was nice, perfect location for us. It is in the process of having work done to the hotel but didn't spoil are time here, plenty of parking as there's 2 floors underneath hotel to park on so are hire car was safe, Great hotel.
