Grand Hotel Imperiale (Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany) 2 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The town of Forte dei Marmi sits along a gorgeous stretch of Tuscan coastline, so it’s reasonable to expect a luxury hotel that owns a private slice of that beach to be somewhat beachy and sun-drenched in aspect. Grand Hotel Imperiale’s setting in the center of a decidedly non-sandy pinewood, 200 meters inland, defies this expectation. The result is a hotel that, despite its coastal setting, is less about flip-flops and beach towels and more about the sort of classic elegance that seems to come so naturally to Italians." - Tablet Hotels

My stay at this hotel in Forte dei Marmi from September 27 to 30, 2025, was truly exceptional. The hotel is elegant, peaceful, and perfectly located — a true reflection of Italian charm and hospitality blended beautifully with a touch of Gulf warmth. Everything about this place was wonderful: the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the attention to every detail. The management and staff were beyond amazing — from the front desk team and their professional manager to the restaurant staff, housekeeping, and the team handling luggage — everyone was genuinely kind, respectful, and always ready to help. They even offered me extra time for my check-out with such grace and understanding. This hotel is the perfect definition of comfort, relaxation, and understated luxury. I felt safe, welcomed, and cared for every moment. A truly special place that makes you want to come back again. 🌿✨

I’d like to start by noting that the hotel is scheduled for renovations, which is wonderful news. That said, even in its current state, the property still has a lot to offer. At night, the exterior has a magical silhouette, beautifully lit and elegant. The restaurant is outstanding—my sister and I especially loved the breakfast spread, which was fresh, plentiful, and delicious.||We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room to lounge and unpack. Unfortunately, I struggled with the strong scents used throughout the property. The lobby and hallways carried a heavy fragrance, and inside the room it was overwhelming. I have perfume allergies, so I asked for the perfume sticks and flowers to be removed, but the lingering scent remained strong enough that I had to sleep with a mask on.||The first night, our air conditioning wasn’t working. When I asked to switch rooms, I was told the hotel was full, but thankfully the engineering team fixed it by the next day. I didn’t press to move again since I assumed all rooms would carry the same scent.||The staff were consistently polite and respectful, though I wish they had been more proactive with information. Forte dei Marmi is a beach town where hotels typically have their own cabanas, yet no one explained where the Grand Imperiale’s were located or that food and towels were available there. My sister and I wandered from one cabana setup to another, being turned away multiple times, before someone finally clarified where we should go. A small detail like this could have saved us a lot of hassle.||In the end, we mainly used the hotel as a base to explore nearby towns, since the scent in the room made it difficult for me to spend much time inside. Still, the restaurant was excellent, the staff were kind, and the hotel retains an undeniable charm—one that I hope will shine even brighter after the renovations.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Forte dei Marmi, and while I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant beforehand (communication leading up to our stay wasn’t always easy, especially when trying to book reservations and request connecting rooms), once we arrived everything completely exceeded our expectations. Even though we weren’t able to get connecting rooms, the hotel thoughtfully placed us right next to each other, and every single reservation we needed was perfectly taken care of. From the moment we checked in, the service was outstanding—warm, genuine, and attentive in a way that made us feel right at home. We were traveling with a big group and lots of little kids, which can sometimes feel overwhelming at a hotel, but not here. The staff never once seemed bothered—in fact, they were consistently kind, patient, and welcoming, always greeting the children with smiles. It truly made such a difference. The location is also perfect—right in the center of town, just steps away from shops, restaurants, the beach, and even the fair. For places a little further out, the hotel provides a smooth and reliable shuttle service. There was always one ready to take us wherever we needed to go, and whenever it was time to come back, we just called and they picked us up right away. The rooms were spacious, the food was delicious, and every detail we could have needed was handled with care. The spa was an absolute highlight for me—I had one of the best massages of my life, completely customized to what I wanted. I’m honestly still thinking about how amazing it was. Meanwhile, the kids loved the indoor pool, which was perfect for them. This stay turned into one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. I’ve heard the hotel will be renovating soon, and I can only hope they’ll add more connecting rooms for families. Regardless, we would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Forte dei Marmi. I cannot wait to return!

The hotel has a beautiful view and the overall service is decent, but the reception staff were not helpful at all. I asked them to book a taxi for me and they didn’t. Almost everything has an extra charge, and no services are included with the room. Also, they were not clear about the breakfast — at first, they told me it was €30 per person, then at checkout they said €50 because I wasn’t a hotel guest, which they never mentioned before. Very disappointing communication.

All the staff are great. I will be happy to be back for sure! Also the rooms are clean and amazing. The service and hospitality we received from the room service and the front desk by booking restaurant for us and helped us with great location to visit was incredible. Thanks and really appreciate it.

Just returned from a lovely family stay at this boutique hotel, and it truly delivered the warm, boutique experience we were looking for. From the start, we were supported by Laura (Reservations Manager) who went out of her way to accommodate our requests and ensure we had the best room possible. Her help made our stay feel smooth and personalized.Jelena from F&B team was super helpful and amazing when it comes to service. The hotel management was incredibly friendly and welcoming ,Special thanks to Franchisco (GM) and Alice (Reservations Manager) for their hospitality and support throughout our visit. It really felt like home cozy, relaxing, and very family oriented. The kids absolutely loved it! The hotel itself is set in a peaceful pinewood area, just a short walk to the beach, designer boutiques, and charming downtown shops. There’s also a kids park just around the corner, and the hotel provides a shuttle and plenty of bicycles, which we enjoyed using daily. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, and we’re excited to see the renovation upgrades planned for later this year, it will only get better. The food quality was good, and the overall experience struck a perfect balance of luxury and ease. Looking forward to coming back next year to see the new version of this already beautiful place.

I never start a hotel review talking about the Spa, but in this case I have to. I have had massages all over the world, but Barbara at Hotel Grande Imperial just topped them all. I would book this Hotel again just for the massage.||Now the Hotel. Very classy, elegant hotel where the staff say yes to everything with a smile. It's 200m from the main town area and beach front which is great. My room was amazing, modern Italian chiq. I was pleased from arrival to departure.||But a final word for Barbara. Bellissima, grazie.
