Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga

Stayed here recently for a 10 day stay for business and had an amazing stay. The spa was a welcome respite from a long day of meetings and report writing. The location to surrounding attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores is ideal for a long stay. The service is highly professional and excellent, I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped into the lobby. I want to especially commend the hostess at breakfast and her entire team of wait staff who made breakfast truly enjoyable every morning. She greeted me every morning with a smile, remembered my preferred table and my hot green tea which I enjoy greatly. The wait staff was quick with their service, removing my plate when I was finished and asking if I needed anything. I normally do not eat breakfast but eating breakfast here was the highlight of my stay every day. I also wanted to thank the spa staff for maintaining the spa so clean and welcoming. I had a massage while I was there and it was a great experience. The masseuse was very professional and knowledgeable about deep tissue, you cannot go wrong with spa services here. Thank you to Grand Hotel Kempinski for a very wonderful stay and will definitely choose this hotel for future stays in Riga, that is a promise.

It’s very nice and Probably Riga’s best hotel in terms of stars/price range (there is no real ultra luxury competition) but not without its flaws. Check-in was excellent with a lovely charming French lady (Emilie), a really positive, kind, engaging professional welcome. Stayed in a Junior Suite which was very nice, good view and flawless in terms of hard product. Pool/Spa area very nice and service very nice. Stage 22 restaurant/bar very nice and good quality food/cocktails and lovely service - Lobster sandwich was outstanding. Unfortunately on first night my bill included some items I don’t order which was disappointing- they apologized and removed but shouldn’t happen here especially tired travelers should not need to double check their bills. What didn’t I like - well let’s talk about breakfast and Eggs Benedict / Avocado Egg Toast. It was disappointing. We ordered eggs Benedict and avocado with egg. Both came with hard boiled eggs. The staff were all very pleasant but there seemed a lack of oversight or training. Even when I asked to change it they asked what was wrong. The second attempt was better in egg cooking but swimming in very thick hollandaise. Not pleasant. I didn’t risk it the second morning and just ordered fried eggs (which were perfect). That said, the service was all very pleasant and proactive and everyone was kind, despite they can’t match what they aim to offer in the a la carte selection. Concierge/Bellboys were very nice and knowledgeable- had a few casual conversations with them and they clearly enjoyed their jobs and were super nice. Would I stay again, yes as I’m in Riga quite regularly.

We stayed at Kempinski Riga for one night and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—professional, warm, and attentive. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, and the coffee was genuinely amazing. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the food was exceptional—both in presentation and taste. What really made the stay special was that it was my birthday, and the staff surprised us with complimentary champagne and snacks delivered to our room. Such a thoughtful gesture made the occasion feel even more memorable. The room was luxurious and very high quality—spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom featured both a bath and a separate shower, all spotlessly clean and finished to a high standard. The SPA was another highlight—calm, beautifully designed, and very high quality. The pool was pleasantly warm, the different saunas added a nice variety, and the locker rooms were spotless and exquisitely maintained. Highly recommend Kempinski Riga for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in the city.

This was our second stay at the Grand Kempinski in Riga. The rooms are clean and beautiful with good air conditioning. The breakfast is delicious and the upstairs restaurant is great. It is the people working here that make staying at the Kempinski exceptional. From a warm welcome to extremely helpful front desk associates to having your coffee preference remembered at breakfast, the employees here elevate the experience. I highly recommend and plan to return when visiting Riga again.

The hospitality here at The Grand Hotel was absolutely amazing. The lobby bar and cigar lounge are nice and relaxing amenities. The 22 Lounge up top has a great view with a good sized bar. Elizabeta was an amazing hostess here and made us feel at home! Thank you guys again for having us we will be back!

Fantastic stay! Staff is so friendly, welcoming, professional and attentive! Rooms are clean, spacious, high end! We had a Big bath tub in the room separated from a shower room. Spa areas, lounge rooms downstairs and pool are amazing, clean and very well kept! Gym is open 24/7. I love that there is a quiet whisper area and no phone zone in the entire spa and pool areas. Located just in the heart of Večriga (Old Riga), therefore is walkable to all the restaurants and landmarks you want to visit! They also have been able to hold my luggage a day prior to the check in as i stayed with my family in Riga for one night before staying in the hotel. The hotel overall has relaxing, quiet vibe and it’s so luxurious and situated in the old authentic building. The only small comment i have is about the restaurant they have on the 8th floor: it says online the bar is open till 00:00 and we wanted to have a drink during our last night, we came there at 23:30 and the girl who is working there said they have been already closed for drinks :( didnt impact on my impression about the hotel, as the stay was wonderful overall. P.S. we had a stunning view over Latvian National Opera so we had a chance to listen to the last performance of the season on Friday June 20th from The window as they were streaming it on a big screen Paldies! We had a wonderful time!

Very spacious and well-designed rooms. Excellent beds. Location could not be better, most of the things on walking distance. Very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet a bit limited, but omelettes better than in any other 5 star hotel as the cooking technique differs from the normal.

I’ve celebrated my birthday at Amber Restaurant. On Sundays they offer brunch which was amazing - super great choice of food, including, ordering a la carte most popular breakfast dishes as Egg Royale, Egg Benedict, waffles and so on. Prosecco as cherry on top. Oh, and coffee was really tasty as well. Super friendly staff. They made my day - thank you!
