Grand Hotel La Cloche Dijon - MGallery Collection

We have been staying here regularly for the +20 years as a perfect stop between London and Italy. Service is excellent from the moment you arrive and are greeted with a smile and warmth by the legend that is Adil (a pilar of this hotel!). Rooms are very comfortable (all categories). Breakfast is excellent with a vast assortment of everything you could want. Car park is secure and easily accessible even for low sports cars. Thank you Adil for being brilliant always and making us feel so welcome!

I really appreciate the location of this hotel; from my room, I have a lovely view of Porte Guillaume and Place Percy. Since my family and I require two sets of bathrooms and toilets for our daily needs, I reserved two rooms, and the hotel staff kindly arranged adjoining rooms for us. The room design is smartly optimized, making efficient use of every space. Additionally, the door to the dressing area can be angled to create a separation between the bedroom and the entrance, which I found very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel as an excellent choice for a stay in Dijon.

We picked La Cloche so we could relax in our room and at the spa directly after a long transatlantic journey. We arrived at check-in time (3 pm) and were told our room wasn't ready. Although the reception contacted housekeeping immediately, it took another 2 hours for them to prepare the room. No explanation, no excuse, no effort. We then found out that the spa was closed on Sunday afternoons, which meant we wouldn't be able to use the miserly 45 minutes of pool access included with our rate. Finally, when parking our rental car in the hotel underground parking, the automatic trunk hit the low ceiling and was scratched in a couple places. When we explained the issue at the reception, they had nothing to say. Perhaps because he heard we were talking about cars, the valet decided to add his two cents and rudely explained in barely veiled terms that we were idiots for not seeing the height of the parking ceiling indicated at the entrance and not knowing the height of the open trunk of our rental car. The manager of the hotel didn't feel any more sorry for us, rejected all responsibility, and explained that it would be completely impossible for the hotel to have a padded ceiling in the parking (like it's done in other places). If the staff isn't interested in providing a level of service or even politeness matching the hotel's luxury aspirations, I would suggest they consider seeking work at a truck stop instead. The room was nice and breakfast was good, though.

Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable, great location, and friendly staff. We paid €650 for one night, two rooms, three guests, which felt fair for the quality offered. What wasn’t fair was the spa experience. We booked the hotel back in early October for a stay in mid-December, mainly because of the spa. Nobody mentioned that reservations were required. By the time we tried, it was fully booked for hotel guests, yet still open for outside visitors. Yet no excuse, or any other offer. A real disappointment, because everything else was genuinely great.

We spent three night here to celebrate my birthday.|Our room was large, with a view over the city, interestingly designed open plan bathroom and deep pile carpeting which made it snug for January.|Large comfy bed, free soft drinks in the mini bar and a good coffee machine.|Not a sound from outside or the corridor.|The staff were warm, polite and attentive without fail and made us feel very welcome.|We had a dinner in the hotel dining room which was absolutely delicious. The chef spent some years in Asia and some of the dishes had an Asian take.|All in all a great experience.

As others have mentioned, the location is adjacent to the tram line, a 7-minute walk from the train station, across the street from a nice park, and it sits on the edge of the historic UNESCO city center. Be advised however, if you wonder off in the "wrong" direction, the area can get sketchy fast. After traveling most of the day and walking up from the train station, a little help with luggage during arrival going up the stairs at the front entrance would have been appreciated but was never offered till we were inside. Our Deluxe room was spacious and very nice. We did not use the services this 5-star Grand Dame hotel offers, but it did serve as a great base for exploring Dijon's historic city center and touring wine country to the north.

This splendid hotel is everything you'd want for your French village experience. Perfect location to walk everywhere or take the tram. Well appointed, attractive modern rooms & artwork, juxtaposed with the historic building blends beautifully. We felt rescued when we entered the reception area, as the VRBO we planned on was filthy, very moldy and uninhabitable for us. It was my good fortune to have this fantastic attraction available for my 65th birthday, to be our home base whilst exploring Dijon, surrounding vineyards & cuisine. We look forward to returning!

The room layout was cramped. The toilet was separated from the bathroom and lacked a basin to wash my hands. No bidet either. The exhaust fan if it was working was inadequate. The shower was located in the bath and no screen. So the floor became wet and slippery. The climate control did not seem to work and we couldn’t sleep due to the heat. It was December so opening a window wasn’t practical. One of the bathrobes smelt of massage oil. It hadn’t been checked before placing in the room. On one occasion when I was resting in the room, Housekeeping opened the door without knocking and was about to enter the room when I asked who is there and the door was quickly closed. When I complained I was told to hang a do not disturb sign to avoid any unwanted intrusion!!

We had a fabulous stay here. The staff, the facility, and the rooms were all great. Where it really matters in a smaller sized town, the front desk staff was there to open up the dirt to you through restaurant, recommendations, which were very good, and taxi services. Our room was well appointed with goof furniture, and a very nice bathroom which made the living space more open; remember in France, often times the WC is in a separate room from the shower. There was a lovely restaurant, witch very attentive staff, and good food Room service was quick, and friendly.

Great location, good restaurant and friendly informative staff. Stayed here for a few days. If you have a room facing the park across the street you are greeted in the morning with a nice sunrise view. The room was clean and spacious. Restaurant served various breakfast both local and regional. Dinner here with the atrium view was pleasant and enjoyable. Parking is convenient and safe. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone traveling in the area.

For the staff of La Cloche I would rate as 5 stars. I knock one star off for the room. While fairly comfortable I did find that it lacked air circulation. Just one vent for the room was not quite sufficient in keeping the room cool, especially after two showers are taken. We were on the top floor and this may be unique to the room we had. Great location - just a 5 minute walk from the train station and from the hotel all of downtown Dijon is an easy walk.

The staff was very friendly and the location is perfect! The room included a king size bed and had a wonderful view of Dijon. We were lucky in that it was a cool early Fall weekend so it wasn't too warm but in the heat of summer the rooms may get warm as there is no air conditioning. The rate we found on Expedia was a great deal and the continental breakfast was DELICIOUS. Amazing full French breakfast unlike anything we've experienced before!
