The hotel is on a pedestrian street with wonderful restaurants, bakeries, and shops. We had two great dinners within a block of the hotel, we walked to the Eiffel Tower -- great location. The room was nicely appointed, well designed, with a fantastic shower. The terrific staff friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Grand Hotel Leveque.

We could not have asked for a better experience from booking to arrival to the entire time of our stay, the staff and everybody at the Leveque made our experience wonderful. ||Making reservations online was very easy. Due to a mix-up on my part, I called, and they fixed it immediately.|The location is terrific for anybody who's looking for a central place that is near many of the sites you will want to see, as well as a very close metro stop just a block away.|The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. As many people have commented on other reviews about many hotels in Paris, The Leveque's elevators are very small compared to American hotel elevators. This was not a big deal, and walking the stairs was not a problem for anybody.|One item of particular note is that every room has its own air conditioning thermostat control. |The breakfast is exactly what is needed, a light enough selection for everybody, and very fresh. I want to especially thank Wafa ( I think that is her name). We have gluten-free in the family, and she made sure that we had gluten-free bread. This was above and beyond a small gesture that meant a great deal.||A few other names I would like to acknowledge include Sonia and Niaz. Please accept my apologies to anybody I may have forgotten, because everybody was wonderful.|Outside the hotel, adjacent to it was an excellent restaurant, and right across the alley was a fresh produce stand, which we went to almost daily before our excursions.||Additionally, the alleyway has several other restaurants that are wonderful. You also have several cafes to choose from, as well as chocolate shops and cheese shops. These are all within a 2-minute walk.||Whether you plan to use the metro, or have a taxi come and get you, it's not a problem there.|| Overall, it's a wonderful experience, I would stay there again next time in Paris.

My family and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Leveque for eight days during the first week of August and it was an incredible experience from start to finish.||My husband and I were in room 503, a triple room with a balcony, while my sister and her husband had another triple room with a street view. My other sister stayed in a classic double room. Every room is charming, comfortable, and very well appointed. We especially appreciate the coffee maker and hot water kettle- perfect for early mornings when we had excursions before breakfast service began.||The hotel was immaculate, and every staff member we encountered, from the front desk and concierge’s to housekeeping and breakfast service, was kind, courteous, and incredibly helpful.||Our room was a great size by Paris standards and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a blessing in the August heat. Being on the top floor, we also enjoy peace and quiet with no street noise.||The location could’ve been better - Close to multiple metro stations, just a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and within walking ( 30 to 40 minutes) to many other attractions, if you’re up for it.||The hotel is located on a charming, cobblestone pedestrian street, with restaurants and grocery stores, just steps away. Even better, taxis can still drop you off right in front of the hotel, despite it being a pedestrian zone.|||This hotel exceeded all of our expectations and met every need. I highly recommend it, and would gradually stay here again.

Google
Location, location, location! Small rooms but everything is clean and updated. We got 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast is nice also. Tons of cafes and markets nearby and even a laundry one block away if you need. Easy walk to Eiffel Tower, Louvre etc. Would stay there again.

My family of 4 stayed here in July back during the heat wave . The air conditioning is great for those traveling in summer. We had adjoining rooms. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. They all spoke English and that helped us out. Lovely little rooms and very affordable compared to other hotels. We loved staying on Rue Cler market . We walked to a lot of places from here . We wanted to be close to the Eiffel Tower for our first trip to Paris and this hotel was perfect . Would stay here again if we ever return. Great wine shop next door as well .

I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Rue Cler was so lively, offered many food options, safe, and a glimpse into Parisian life. The hotel itself was lovely and the staff were so helpful. We had asked for a room on the courtyard- there was no courtyard but we didn't care- because we didn't know how loud the street side would be. The room was huge and allowed us much needed space. The AC worked really well- it was hot! I will stay here again. Easy to walk to Eiffel Tower, take Ubers around town, etc. Having lived in Paris before, this hotel EXCEEDED my expectations and was a great way to introduce my husband to the city. You will not regret staying here!

Have been going to the hotel for years. It is in a wonderful location on.Rue Cler. It is very comfortable. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are very helpful. You almost feel part of a family when you arrive. Stepping outside your door on the right fuel find a small café and on the left a wine store at cheese store. The street has many cafés and stores and it’s the perfect way to start your holiday in Paris.

Google
Cant beat the location. Street is so quaint with so many options. Eiffel tower is 15 min walk. The hotel is charming. The classic room was small. I expected that but was i hoping for an upgrade? Sure. What we were not expecting was the most uncomfortable bed we have slept in, in years.. I mentioned the lumpy mattress the first morning. The classic room below us was offered but i didnt want to risk a noisier room without knowing if the bed was any better. So my back suffered the first 2 nights before it got used to it. The other rooms did look nicer so perhaps my review would be different if i booked a more expensive room. Breakfast was ok for 15 euro. Going out is a better choice tho. If i come back to Paris I'd definitely stay in thid neighborhood again. Probably choose a different hotel.

Yelp
This is a small boutique European Hotel. For seasoned European travelers the hotel, staff, amenities, etc. will come as no surprise. The rooms are what you would expect - Queen size bed, table, closet and an ensuite bath. We used this hotel room as a home base and were gone 90% of the time. The room was safe, secure, and a welcome respite from the day's activities. The staff is excellent and are all accomplished English speakers. The complimentary breakfast was a delight and everything you would expect from a continental petit dejeuner. On the rue Cler in the 7th Arrondissement is replete with shops and restaurants - we adopted one and went there for most of our dinner meals. The competition is keen on the rue Cler so all of the food is first rate. If you have gone to Paris to see the city and not the hotel room, then this is your place.

Yelp
Paris is an expensive hotel city, its nearly impossible to find a good deal anywhere in the central areas. Grande Hotel Lévêque is not an exception but it does have some things going for it, though the word "Grande" should be removed...its a regular small European hotel. We s PROS: -Near perfect location! Rue Cler is an amazing local street with boutique shops, restaurants, and artisan food sellers of cheese, wine, meats, and more. Metro stop about a 5 minute walk away. -Very small, but clean and modern room. -Satisfying breakfast. CONS: -Very small room! -Double bed is pushed up in the corner...always awkward with 2 people. -Plastic cups instead of glass, and they don't replace them! -The smallest elevator on Earth. $700 for 4 nights is a lot of money, but its the Paris norm and actually cheaper than many other hotels. Still, I'll probably research further if there's a better place to stay on my next Paris visit.

Yelp
Staff was very unaccommodating and sometimes hard to even find someone working the front desk. Information I did receive from them was often wrong. The location is somewhat close to the Eiffel tower, but other than that there is not much to visit in the area. I highly recommend finding a different place to stay in Paris that is more accommodating and more centralized.

Yelp
This small boutique hotel is in the shadows of the Eiffel Tower and is well-positioned for walking many of the historical sites in Paris. We chose this hotel for that reason, but would choose another option the next time around. The elevator here is tiny, and that's ok, but just be prepared. One person and one bag can fit at one time OR you can place two bags in the elevator, press the button and meet your luggage at whatever floor you pick. Service was ok. The daytime front desk gal was the most helpful and friendly, with the evening/nighttime guys needing some coaching on being a bit friendlier. Though, at one point, we had run out of toilet paper (during the day) and the front desk gal questioned why we needed another roll. Really? That was uncomfortable. We also spent a day without our garbage emptied, but that wasn't a big deal. It just added to some lack of attentiveness by the cleaning person. Our room was tiny, bland and uninviting. In fact, it was so tiny that we couldn't unpack. After one night, my husband asked if we could move to a different room, and when the front desk gal showed him our other option, we jumped on it! Even though it was the same room category, it was larger, appeared to have been renovated, had some color, and offered room to move around and space to unpack and store our belongings. Hotel Leveque offers a $10 breakfast but since the location of this hotel is on Rue Cler, surrounded by cafes, it just didn't make sense to eat here. We regularly enjoyed breakfast next door or a few doors down and spent just as much or less. They also offer free Wi-Fi which worked well for us. Overall, there just wasn't anything interesting about this hotel to make us come back. Why two rooms in the same room category were different sizes really baffles me. The little things like leaving a full garbage can and questioning our need for another roll of toilet paper, well, those little things matter. The location of this hotel is PERFECT which is why we'll take a look at the other hotels also on Rue Cler next time we visit Paris.

Yelp
Ok. This isn't the Hilton but it has everything going for it. Location, location, location!! Friendly staff, clean if small room. You are only a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, and Rue Cler is a Parisian dreamland. The downside is the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor says. But who cares?? Look where you are! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Stayed here for three nights during my honeymoon in one of their updated rooms with a balcony overlooking Rue Cler. Pros: The staff are friendly, location is excellent, price is decent. Cons: You can hear every word and bodily noise of people in nearby rooms and hallways. The bathrooms are exceedingly small (even for Paris), and the bed was not comfortable, with scratchy sheets. You have to leave your key at the front desk every time you leave the hotel, which seems a bit unecessary to me. I stayed at other hotels throughout Paris and other cities in France, and this was not common practice.

Yelp
I came to Paris on a whim (literally booked my flight 8 hours before departure time) without booking a hotel. When I got there this was one of the only hotels that still had availability. Within walking distance from the Eiffel Tower. On a GREAT street in Paris! Rue Cler is adorable. Room was small but had everything i needed (safe, hair dryer, AC, TV, phone, etc). Perfect for those who are just using their room as a place to store their stuff and sleep. i've seen reviews on some sites where people have been complaining that wifi was not free, even though it was advertised as free on their website. i saw people paying for wifi at the desk. however, i was able to get a signal in my room without having to pay...so, take that as you will. Every time you leave the hotel you have to drop off your key at the front desk, which is kinda weird but whatever. The staff was very friendly and polite to me, all spoke wonderful english and helped make my stay in Paris a pleasant one.

Yelp
This hotel felt a bit overpriced for the quality of the room, but the location on Rue Cler made up for any disappointment we had. We stayed for three nights, arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday, for 170 euro per night for a double room. The rooms were extremely tiny, and only left enough space for us to move around the double bed. The decor of the room was a simple modern, with a small desk, bed and little bathroom the size of a cruise ship. All the fixtures were new, and everything reminded me of an IKEA style. There was a closet with room for about 6 hangers, and a few little cubbies. The elevator of the hotel was the smallest I have ever seen, and could only fit one person with a suitcase. The best qualities of this hotel were the service and the location. The staff were extremely helpful, and assisted me in making restaurant reservations when I emailed them before my arrival. They also assisted us with directions numerous times, and their English skills were perfect. The hotel is located in the heart of Rue Cler, which is lined with shops, markets and cafes. We enjoyed Cafe du Marche, Tribeca, Petit Cler, and Cafe Central in our days staying there. It was a wonderful home base, and an easy walk to all the sights in Paris. Not sure whether I would stay here again, but there were definitely some advantages that are worth considering returning.

Yelp
This hotel was ok. The best part about it was the location. It's on a cute street full of markets and cafes, and it's blocked off from traffic. The room itself was pretty small, but it was doable. The quality was eh - the bedside tables kept falling off, so that was annoying. Then in the morning there was a banging for an hour, sounded like knocking but I'm not sure what it was. Overall, if you want to be near the Eiffel (10-15 min walk) and have cafes etc on your block, this is a decent option.

Yelp
Our stay at Grand Hotel Leveque was a winner! I read previous reviews so just expected a decent, clean, PERFECT location hotel, and that's what we got! Rooms are small, clean, but comfortable enough, didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Staff was very friendly, helpful in getting tickets for attractions, and explaining the Metro service. Eiffel Tower was within walking distance as well as many excellent cafes. The Metro was just around the corner which provided great service to all attractions. The hotel offers a very unique characteristic, being that it sits on Rue Cler, a darling Parisian street for pedestrians only! It offers cafes, fruit and flower stands, a cheese shop, gelato and a fabulous bakery! We totally enjoyed our time at Grand Hotel Leveque and would stay there again!

Yelp
Location, location, location. We stayed 5 nites at this hotel and still rave about the location. It's a foodies paradise, a block away from the metro and next to so much good food (yes, i repeated myself). There are old and new rooms and we opted for an older room to save money. It was cozy and you could hear every noise in the other rooms, but it was ok with us since we were gone most of the day and nite anyways. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They have a cute wating area that they let us use to have our own picnic complete with cheese, fresh strawberries and baguette that we purchased from street shops (YUM)! The wireless does cost, but you can access the wifi for free at Petit Cler (next door) with purchase (may be a 24 hour limit). Finally, this is right next to the best chocolate place ever...i'll write a separate review for all the great restaurants. Yes, this is a Rick Steve's recommendation so you will see quite a few Americans. Safe Travels!
google avatar

Rich H.

Yelp
Summary based on one multi-night stay: --good tourist location on a street generally closed to traffic --caution: early morning deliveries can be noisy --friendly service patient with those with limited French --relatively inexpensive --is/was a Rick Steves' recommended hotel, so expect a lot of Americans

Big B.

Yelp
The location is the selling point here, so if that's all you care about book away. But otherwise it's extremely bare bones and not the best experience. First, expect no thrills whats so ever, two towels even with three guests, no appliances or ice machines, you leave the key at the desk. But granted all that is fine and what you would expect but! And here is my biggest problem. THE NOISE. You can hear everything from the street and it is compounded by the fact the hotel does not take into account guest patterns for their apparent renovations as I woke up to the sound of power saws and hammers the final three nights of my stay. As they consistently started before 9 AM with no regards to the noise. Also the cleaning staff can be quirky, left clothes lain on the floor and returned to the room to find them just lazily thrown towards the cabinet and the tissues were not replaced.

Yelp
This place is exactly what I wanted for the price. Hotels in Paris are expensive, especially in good areas. While it's a no-frills hotel, it has all the basic things I needed for a great trip! Pros: - kind, english-speaking staff. From check-in to luggage storage to ordering transit to the airport, they made everything easy. - fast (free) wi-fi - particularly impressive compared to wi-fi in other (more luxury) hotels I used in Europe. - room was very clean (hard to accomplish in tiny, old, euro-hotels) - AC in room - and it works very well! - EXCELLENT location!!!! It's an easy walk to major tourist sites in Paris. Quick walk to metro. And Rue Cler (the street it's on) is absolutely adorable and has a very authentic Parisian feel. Lots of markets, restaurants, and shops of all sorts (cheese, meats, and wines). It is clearly frequented by locals but all the shop keepers speak perfunctory english and clearly, regularly deal with clueless tourists. Cons: - It's really no-frills. But if you know that going in, you won't be disappointed. - My single room was tiny (seriously a third of the size of my freshman dorm room), but I expected that based on the other reviews. I recommend skipping their breakfast because there are great places to get it on the street (and eat outside).

Yelp
Hotel is in a very nice neighborhood near the Eiffel Tower. The check-in check out process was very easy and the room rate was good. The rooms were cleaned every day, and most of the front desk staff very nice and helpful. It would have been 4 stars, but my friend and I had a strange experience at the front desk the night before we checked out. One of our rooms keys was lost by the hotel and the attendant at the desk started questioning my friend about the room tax and asking for payment in cash as well as when he was checking out. It was uncomfortable and strange and we were very tried. The rooms also just had a comforter, no sheets or blankets and the walls very thin. Not sure if this is a Europe thing. If you want stay in an Authentic Paris neighborhood with minimal tourists and don't require fancy amenities, I would recommend.

Yelp
This is a great little hotel ... but only if you're in Paris to hit the streets and simply need a place to crash at the end of the day. If you're expecting lavish accommodations - spa, concierge, luxury bath, etc - then look elsewhere. That said, on my multiple stays here, I've found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and my rooms to be adequately comfortable and very clean. What's most ideal about the hotel is the location. First of all, Rue Cler is a very charming street (a bit like a slightly touristy version of Lamb's Conduit here in London). The pedestrian only street hosts a fantastic cheese shop, a honey shop, a patisserie, a couple of bistros and a wonderful - and newly opened - little brasserie (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/181177-le-petit-cler-Paris) (owned by the gourmet heroes behind La Fontaine de Mars (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/83958-La-Fontaine-de-Mars-Paris) - one of my all time favourite restaurants in Europe and only a very short walk from Grand Hotel Leveque). There's a Metro station at the end of Rue Cler as well as a few others in close proximity. Of course, with the Eiffel Tower, Hotel des Invalides (with Napoleon's Tomb), Quai Branley all within walking distance, you may have no need to take pubic transportation at all! A variety of room sizes and rates are offered here. A double room will set you back about EUR100/night. For the convenience and the location, I doubt you'll find a better deal (but if you do, let me know!).

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel five times. I like that it's a pedestrian walkway and that anything you need is right on the street especially for someone traveling alone the rooms are small but who cares you sleep there and I think that they're very reasonable for the location I love this hotel I will stay there every time !!!
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
The hotel is in a good location, very close to the Eiffel Tower. Friendly staff. My only issue was the noise. Our room (triple room) was located above a bar and it was so loud at night, we had a tour planned that next day and had to be up early but it was impossible to sleep with all the noise from the bar. Also the elevators are so tiny you can't really fit more than one person.
google avatar

Chasity J.

Yelp
Exactly what we expected! Great location, clean room, comfy bed, and kind staff! We will certainly be back! And yes, the rooms are small. But we didn't come to Paris to hang out in a hotel ;)
google avatar

Gabi F.

Yelp
Very quaint a cute hotel near the eiffel tower. Although i had a view of a wall; the room was clean and small but good. The front desk was good help. Conveniently located near restaurants and a good stay for 2 days since it is only near the eiffel tower and nothing much else.

Danielle P.

Yelp
Good location on a cute street, terrible room terrible shower doesn't even have a normal shower head. And it's tiny!!! The elevator is so small my luggage barely fit in it I had to push it in.

I O.

Yelp
Beware of bed bugs! Rooms need to be updated, very run down.

Yelp
stayed in this hotel, after I was given a switch and bait at another hotel. this hotel is great for americans. its fully AC-ed, ultra modern, has good breakfast and wifi. we stayed in the suite which was amazing. especially for honeymooners. also great walking proximity to everything (especially) if you ate as much as we did. there also a place called l'angolo divine that is a must for dinner. i believe it was near camp fiori...
