I stayed at the Grand Hotel Łódź at the end of August, and while our stay was otherwise very pleasant, my iPad was damaged by the valet parking staff while my car was being parked.
I reported the incident immediately to the hotel staff before our departure. They handled the situation professionally at the time and advised me to send an email with photos of the damage, which I did right away. After several weeks without any response, I called the hotel and was told that my message had been forwarded to the person responsible and that I should expect a reply shortly.
Unfortunately, no response ever came. I sent a follow-up email, but to this day I have not received a single reply. This kind of lack of communication is not acceptable and certainly not the level of service one expects from a five-star hotel.
In addition, our car was parked outside, where it became dirty, even though we were under the impression that valet parking meant the car would be stored indoors. Either the parking arrangement itself was questionable, as it appeared accessible to other people, or the valet driver used the car for personal driving. This concern was further raised when we later found a photo of our car on a car-spotting website, taken in a very unusual location.
