Wonderful hotel very elegant and impressive. The team exceptional in all departments throughout the hotel.|The breakfast buffet and service again faultless. The bar service and cocktails great especially my dry martini by Domingo. The restaurant on our last night wonderful especially the young manager who managed to find us a table for three on our last as I’d omitted to reserve one….full marks

Recently stayed 4 nights at Grand Hotel Majestic GB and it was the most perfect experience. All the staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel is so beautiful and charming, you feel like you are royalty from another century. Our room was spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated. The breakfast has everything you want and more. The restaurant I Carracci was one of the best meals we had. The location is perfect, close to everything. If you want to treat yourself stay at this fabulous hotel.

I felt like orphan Annie that entered Daddy worbucks home. This hotel was so elegant. It was already decorated for the Christmas season as it was Thanksgiving time. If you want a true memorable experience I would stay here. We were 3 people and had a small suite. It had 1 kind bed and pull out sofa. It was perfect. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They made dinner reservations for us, found us car services to drive us places, even found us things to do in Milan which was our next destination. I give a 5 plus star.

We have travelled all over the world and stay in the top hotels. We have enjoyed the luxury of the Grande Majestic for many years and continue to be impressed by the rooms, the location and the remarkable staff. The General Manager, Mr. Biondi, is the most hands on manager we have ever encountered. He knows who is staying at the hotel, checks frequently on their well being, and is responsible for the Grande|Majestic being the hotel of one's dreams. We happily visit Bologna just to stay at this outstanding property.

Google
A beautiful hotel with top-notch staff. The room was gorgeous, the bathroom was huge, and the amenities were abundant. It blew me away that they even provided makeup remover (I've never seen that before in a hotel - such a small touch but so appreciated). And the breakfasts...outstanding! Great location too.

The Grand Hotel Majestic experience was first rate. The accommodations were excellent and the staff was exceptionally competent and helpful. From the front desk, to the wait staff, and everyone else, they made our visit to Bologna feel very special.

Google
Big let down and DOES NOT belong in the category for "Leading Hotels of the world". After traveling all over Italy, this was one of the most expensive stays, yet our least favorite hotel. The service was good and the rooms were beautiful, but the amenities were lacking. The bed sheets felt like sand paper and very uncomfortable, at the time of stay (November 28th) the AC was off so personally I was hot and had to get a fan sent to room which helped. The pillows aren't comfortable. I've had better sheets, beds, and pillows at 2 star hotels. The bedding and comfort is not 5 star hotel quality. The restaurant they have is NOT good, and we spent almost 300 Euro for sub-par food that we only ate 2 dishes for the 6 dish tasting. Great presentation. Great service, horrible taste. My date almost threw up after the first dish (truffle mushroom). The tortellini were hard and I even mentioned to the waiter who basically told me they were suppose to be like that and made it seem like i didnt know whay i was talking about. Not sure how the staff cant catch on to us not eating the food and the disgusted looks we gave with the food. Not to mention, the silverware was dirty, and they brought me a dirty knife 2 different times after each time asking for clean silverware. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again and encourage anyone else to look at other options since you are going to overpay for what they consider 5 star quality. I will just stay in Florence at the Villa Cora next time and take a train for the day if I need to come back to Bologna. But I will never come back here.

This hotel and staff exudes greatness. Davide, the front office mgr makes it happen for you and the staff executes. Veronica helped us in a very professional and patient manner when we needed medical Attention. We were put under the care of their staff physician who was superb. Thank you for making a difference for us. We will never forget this kind of great guest care in bologna. Congrats and continued success.

Yelp
The power keeps shutting off. The heat cannot be turned off and I had to take multiple cold showers to cool down overnight (in November!). Due to poor air quality in Bologna, leaving windows open to cool down is not enjoyable (obv not hotel's fault). A stranger identified my room as theirs and they were let into the room while I slept. This is unforgivable. I wish the rooms had chain llocks on doors. Mold growing on hand shower wand. I thought spinach was coming out of my mouth, but no it is mold dropping off the hand shower. Hotel itself is clean and quirky in an old world way. Everyone working here is so kind and helpful, and I know they felt bad for letting someone into my room. Hey, mistakes happen and this is an old building, but letting a stranger into my room is terrifying. Finally, there were two of us in our suite, but every night only one chocolate on the bed!

Yelp
We were woken up by house keeping letting a stranger into our room at 9:30am. After the sleepless night, 2 power outages to the room, the heat turning on max remotely several times throughout the night, and then meeting a strange woman in my room while I'm just in boxers, it was a bad start to the stay here!! . Overall the stay improved but the first 24 hours sucked here... +Excellent location, minutes away from central square, across the street from a good grocery store, and dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. Very walkable city location. +Room is quaint/historical. Many celebrities have stayed here decades ago, which is kind of fun to see their photos in the lobby bar. - Our room lost power twice the first day. - maid service let a stranger enter our room at 9:30am. Was a startling way to wake up... - Uncomfortably warm / No A/C / electrical issues -- you can see reviews going back 10-11 years about the A/C being out for repair. - some black mold in the shower on the shower wand crevasses; reminded me of gunk that might build up in a p-trap under your sink. I cleaned it for them with some hot water and hand towels. - Breakfast buffet wasn't good. Skip the buffet and get 0,85€ croissants across the street - they'll be fresh and sooo much better than the stale stuff in the buffet. Overall I ***love*** Bologna ***so much*** and this location is great, but we were uncomfortable here. We'll be back, but to a different hotel.

Yelp
Great 5 night stay in June. Excellent Bologna location, just a minute walk from Piazza Maggiore. Very attentive and helpful staff, good buffet breakfast, comfortable bed, walk in rain shower and great on site restaurant (one of the best veal chops I've ever had). Finely appointed common areas and I enjoyed the touch of the exposed ancient Roman road.

Yelp
We spent two nights here in July during a longer trip in Italy. The location is spectacular right in the middle of the city and it is certainly the nicest hotel in Bologna. The service in the hotel was great. Our room was very large and grand but the spaces could use some updating. Serviceable gym. Breakfast was fine but not great. Again, this is your best option while in Bologna and it's a total experience but it's not what I would consider a 5 star hotel.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel right in city center. Walking distance to everything you could want. I had dinner in the restaurant, which I reviewed separately. I was in Bologna to celebrate my granddaughters graduation from the university of Bologna in maths. This is the place to stay in my opinion

Yelp
Two stars because it is a nice hotel with comfortable beds. Thats about it. It is certainly not a five star hotel, which it purports to be. We arrived around 8pm and advised reception that we needed to leave for the airport at five am. At some point reception advises that the booking was for one person and they had to charge us for the second. I have never heard of this! So for the extra person for our 8 hour stay, they wanted €100! What the hell for? I looked on a booking sight and showed the receptionist that I could still book a room (which would come with a free bottle of wine) for two people for exactly what I paid. Receptionist kept saying that it would be more if i booked through the hotel. Lets follow the logic here. Why would i book directly through the hotel if the same room is less on a booking sight? The most irritating part is that she kept laughing inappropriately for some unknown reason. The male receptionist kept insisting that the € 100 was for the "free" hot breakfast. We reminded him that we had to leave before breakfast was served. He assured us that there would be a cart full of food in the morning before we left. Long story short, that did not happen. There was a cart with coffee and a few pastries. But wait, there's more! The man at the reception in the morning told us that if we had asked, they would have made us breakfast. That would have been nice if it was ever suggested by reception at check in! A real five star hotel would have just taken the initiative to prepare the bagged breakfast for us given the conversation had the night before. I also enjoyed how the staff talked down to us insisting that a €100 per person euro fee is totally normal. Because I've never stayed in a hotel before! Thats sarcasm btw. Again, this certainly was not a five star experience. And just to compare apples to apples, we stayed at a four star hotel when we arrived in bologna 10 days earlier. It was 1/5 the cost, the staff much more accommodating and was just as comfortable and nice. So do yourself a favor and ignore the alleged five star rating and save your money and nerves by staying anywhere else.

Yelp
Rating explanation: the air conditioning malfunctioned in our room both nights. The hotel failed to adequately inform guests of the problem affecting the entire hotel. We only learned about the severity of the problem at 3am when my wife and I had enough of the sweltering humidity and abandoned opening the window because we already had been bitten by Mosquitos. There were several irate guests who asked the reception desk "why am I only being told this now, while I am checking out!" The hotel made no effort to refund or compensate the sleep deprived guests. My wife and I spent more than EUR300 per night and we slept 2 hours per night in total,15 minutes at a time. The bedding was luxurious and very comfortable; however, our bed was 2 twins mashed together with no dividing pad. Pillows and sheets were great but not good enough to compensate for the AC fiasco! This hotel gets 2 stars because the location is great and the breakfast is free and plentiful. I will never stay here again. I paid extra so my wife and could sleep well and in comfort. The AC situation was mismanaged and WE PAID THE PRICE!

Yelp
Pretty decent hotel bar although could do with a bit of an update. Drinks were well made and in terms of London pricing, given it was a 5 star hotel, the drink prices were very decent.
