Grand Hotel

The hotel is a bit old, but it still has some charm. The location is good, quiet, and convenient—especially for a first visit to Mumbai. The staff is helpful. I had to call them a few times because the Wi-Fi kept dropping, but they always tried to fix it. The nicest rooms are on the 4th floor with a balcony (mine had one), but the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor. Welcome to India 🙂 The staff will help carry your luggage. I didn’t try the breakfast at the hotel. There’s a coffee shop next door with delicious food, but it’s very busy—because it’s good.

Great rooms, and helpful staff. Definitely recommend for the price. But as other reviews note the hot water wasn’t always available. I also had issues with the key card working every day, which was a minor issue but annoying and something no other hotel I’ve been at has issue with. Location is okay, much louder during weekdays since it’s by the docks but quiet at night.

Staff were very friendly and helpful in checking us in and storing our luggage before our flight. The room we had was spacious and clean with fresh towels replaced each day. The hotel is an old art deco building located close by the Gateway to India and famous museums. The area around the hotel is generally quite for mumbai standards and surrounded historic old buildings. Breakfast had a wide variety of food both veg and non veg. If I am in the area again I would definitely stay at the Grand Hotel.

I had spoken to ma'am at the front desk and she was so especially caring and involved in the work. Her attention to detail, calm efficiency and proactive support made everything feel a notch higher in standard. As a woman traveler, feeling safe and respected matters deeply, and she created exactly that environment — with grace and confidence. Thank you for setting the bar so high and ensuring that guests like me feel held every step of the way. I will absolutely return and recommend this hotel especially to women traveling for work.

They turned off the boiler in the evening so there is no hot water. There is also only slightly warm water if the boiler is on. There is damp on the windows and our plug sockets don't work properly. The location is great however and the hotel is beautiful from the outside. Considering that we have paid 9000 rupees a night. I expect better

Beautiful heritage property in a great location. The rooms show signs of fair wear & tear though and need some renovation specially the washrooms. The staff is just amazing & so helpful. We had a daddy daughter trip and the way they are ready to offer assistance anything with a small child is remarkable. The housekeeping staff did a phenomenal job too. The only thing i felt which was a little off was the pricing 10k+ / per night for a 3 star property is kinda insane. But i guess it was the vacation season and the location of the property barely a stone's throw away from Marine drive / colaba which made it so expensive. Overall the place is amazing and no fuss, anyone travelling with kids can definitely stay there

Hotel is okay but compared to Germany the price is far too high for the standard you get. My room smelled old, even my clothes smelled like the room after three nights. The shower water was sometimes warm and sometimes cold. I booked breakfast upon arrival, but it wasn't charged. As a result, I had to pay double the price for it every day compared to when I booked it in advance. It wasn't worth it. Staff was friendly and generally helpful. Breakfast was okay.

I will come back to this hotel next time I'm in Mumbai ! Thanks ! The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located, in a quiet neighbourhood very close to the old colonial town and to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The staff is welcoming, efficient and helpful.
