We recently returned from Italy which included two nights in Rome at The Grand Hotel Palace. We are returning guests and have always felt blessed to have this hotel as our home away from home. As is always the case- the hospitality was unmatched, the accommodations spacious and immaculate, and the food and beverage on par with Rome's finest. What really makes this property most special is it's staff- long term, committed professionals who genuinally care about their guests. General Manager Walter leads an amazing team including the food and beverage staff, housekeeping, bell staff and an excellent front office staff (especially Giulia and Ylenia)... all of whom make each of our visits even more special than the last! You have a lot of hotel choices when going to Rome- you will never make a better choice than staying at the Grand Palace!

We loved staying here for four nights. The rooms are lovely and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. All the staff at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. They are very friendly and lepful and willing to go out of their way to help you. I would not hesitate recommending the Grand Hotel Palace Rome. I only wish that we could return here once again. Thank you to all the staff.

Amazing staff, great location. We waked to many landmarks no longer than 15 minutes. Not is the very center but close enough to walk to Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps, the Vila Borghese park and more. Right by the metro, just 10 mins walk to Termini. The hotel is a 5 star but the style is much different than what you would be accustomed in the US. Clean, and decent size room. The elevator is very tiny, only one. If you can't use stairs just give some extra time to go up and down to and from the room.

We stayed for a few days post cruise. Location isn’t the best- it felt a little bit unsafe walking back at night. I would probably say it’s a four not a five star hotel. Guessing it gets 5 stars due to the spa which we didn’t use. The breakfast room is in a beautiful ornate room but lacks atmosphere- the chairs and tables just don’t match and are not comfortable or five star. No tablecloths. Little Things that could make it feel more inviting and luxurious. No evening bar for drinks on your return to the hotel. The breakfast itself was limited and poor quality. The bedroom was a great size but lacked feeling of luxury five star hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Checking in was okay, staff were pleasant and the process was good. Our room was a little dated with a comfortable bed. Our bathroom had next to no counter space, and the tub was very difficult to get and out of to shower. There was also a step up to the separate toilet room.

Google
I would not consider this a 5 star hotel. we were disappointed in the room as the bed and pillows are not comfortable. The bath tub is small and a poor shower head. Normally these are not features I would need to waste time complaining about, but when you splurge for a nicer 5 star hotel, this one did not live up to our expectations. The staff was not overly friendly.

Google
Great hotel in perfect location, near Villa Borghese. Service is outstanding. For Americans that are used to a small, basic hotel breakfast you are in for a real treat. The breakfast buffet is ranks at the top I have even eaten. It opens early and stays open until near 11am. Easy to find your way back as it is next to the Hard Rock and the American Embassy.

Very elegant and modern but maintained the older aspects of the building. Comfortable beds. Spacious/modern bathroom. Get a top floor (7th floor) room with balcony. Enjoy your morning coffee/espresso from the balcony. Service was perfect. Made it easy get taxis.

Yelp
We wanted to spend a little time in Rome before a Viking cruise but didn't want to spend the $999.00 per person for one full day that Viking charges. I contacted the Grand Hotel Palace directly and they made everything so easy. They arranged for a car from the airport to the hotel . After the long flights, it was nice to walk out of the airport and find our ride to the hotel waiting. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved the room. The location is very good with short walks to the top of the Spanish stairs (go left out of the front door and straight down Via Liguria...it's flat and there's a stop for the Hop-On Hop-Off bus) and to the Trevi Fountain. The Coliseum and Forum are walkable as well. I would pass on the breakfast. It had a limited selection of hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, and some rather odd sausages) and was expensive at 25 Euros per person. There are many cafes where you can sit outside on the way to the sights. We spent less than half of what Viking would have charged with the hotel and shuttles. If we find ourselves in Rome again we will only look as far as the Grand Hotel Palace.

Yelp
Staff was outstanding and friendly. Breakfast was awesome, the spa was great. Indoor Pool was a cool touch. Excellent location. Would go back again.

Yelp
There are many good qualities for this hotel, but one major flaw: the room furniture is so bad that this is a room just to sleep, not for anything else. I will explain - we had a massive room (think 25sqm+). In it, there was a tiny, tiny table (enough for one handbag, nothing else). One very uncomfortable and small wooden chair. And one stylish, but small "rocking" chair that was uncomfortable to sit on for longer than 15 minutes. You felt like you were sliding off the armchair. No ottoman at the foot of the bed, no other furniture. After a long day of walking around Rome as a tourist, or after a long day or business, do you not wish to collapse onto a comfy sofa or armchair? Or if you need to do a bit of work in the room, on a proper desk with space, and a comfortable desk chair? If not, this is maybe the hotel for you. Breakfast is an exorbitant EUR25+ per person. So we did not take that. The pool in the basement, is actually just a plunge pool. In darkness. No good for exercises, maybe just for a dip? There's a "jacuzzi" but with one jet. Vertical, from the floor. Not even horizontal at seat level. The only thing normal was the sauna, which was decent. Now the positives. Location is good, in a quieter part of town, opposite the American embassy. There's good restaurants nearby, as well as an amazing gelato shop just north of the hotel. Taxi rides were EUR10-15 to all the major tourist attractions, and the metro station just 5 minutes walk from the hotel (up/down a hill though). Bed quality was good, wifi was good. Bathroom was good, with powerful showers. Housekeeping was clean. Refreshed complimentary bottled water each day. Soundproofing was good; in our entire week, we didn't hear our neighbours at all, despite the hotel being full. So.... lots of things going for this hotel, except the crucial bit about the room being functional. Which is a pity.

Yelp
Fabulous hotel and experience. It's on the best street. The wide street is canopied by lovely trees providing a shaded and much needed break from the heat; not to mention, it's beautiful. Also, quaint cafes align the street as well as fun shops. The hotel itself caters to an international crowd but I think a lot of Americans stay here as well; probably due to the American Embassy being a few blocks away. Service is exquisite. The concierge is beyond helpful and charming as well as the staff. Take a load of in the bar area with a variety of drinks and snacks. I recommend trying the Italian signature drink. It's apple juice, prosecco, a liqueur, and something else (I forget) but it's delicious. Of course, I had many bellini's and they hit the spot as well. Our room was spacious. Sitting and sleeping area, large closets and two restrooms complete with soaking/sauna tub. Bed and lines comfortable. Turn down service and clean up consistent and professional. Morning breakfast ok. (I like their service and selections but wish they had more patio seating.) Easy to walk to the Spanish steps, some museums and lots of restaurants and cafes. I suggest a taxi to the Piazza Navona and other touristy places, unless you really want a hike. I like to walk but the heat gets a little rough in the summer. It only cost 8.70 euros to go to the Piazza, so the expense is minimal. I look forward to coming back soon.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Grand Hotel Palace. We stayed in the junior suite! First, the staff was so kind. Second, the hotel is located across from the US Embassy and just far enough away from all the hustle and bustle. It still was in easy walking distance to all of the attractions but the streets were quiet enough to sleep with the windows open at night. We went to a local wine bar every single night that was in the neighborhood. Also the restaurant downstairs was very good - you must try the cacio de pepe! If we ever make it back to Rome, we will be staying here again.

Yelp
This is a splendid hotel. Wonderful location, on a quiet, shady street, within easy walking distance to the Villa Borghese, Piazza del Popolo, and the Spanish Stairs. The room was most spacious, and suited our needs perfectly, and the staff was friendly, competent , and kind. Highly recommended for you next stay in Rome.

Yelp
The Grand Palace Hotel is truly a wonderful place to stay while visiting Rome. Friendly staff, amazing service and excellent food make the visiting Rome a pleasure. We came to the Grand Hotel Palace on our honeymoon while visiting Rome for a few days before our cruise. The first thing you'll notice is the amazing staff, ready to meet your every need or answer any question with a smile and a polite and friendly demeanor. I just can't say enough about the staff here, they truly make the difference during your stay. Special thanks to Miguel (see picture I added) who gladly ordered coffee for me every day at 5am while I sat outside to enjoy a cigarette. He would take the time to chat with me and humor me as I tried to shake off my jet-lag. I just love this guy! The rooms here are a little small for some with American standards, but are actually quite spacious and comfortable by European standards. As an American, I found myself quite comfortable and satisfied with the space, about the same amount of space you would have in a suite on a cruise ship. Your room comes with a free breakfast and it's pretty good. Hot coffee and fresh squeezed OJ are delivered quickly upon request. In the evening it's really nice to take a seat outside and enjoy a glass of wine with a friend or family member. The service again is impeccable and you won't want for anything for very long. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and I would highly recommend GHP to anyone visiting Rome. If you are booking through Celebrity Cruise Lines, rest assured they have put you in an excellent hotel with top notch service. A completely deserved 5 stars!!

Yelp
An excellent hotel. The room was very nice and the room service quick and friendly. Very comfortable bed and accommodations. The hotel is located very close to the US American Embassy. Plus, numerous fine restaurants are close by. A short walk to a city square that has music and entertainment. The dining at the hotel is excellent as well. The transfer to the airport is about 90 minutes with good traffic so keep that in mind when departing. I will definitely book at the Grand Palace for my next adventure.

Yelp
Staff was nice but our room was smaller than expected and they had no upgrades available. We were on the fifth floor and it smelled like mold and windex. Like they sprayed windex to cover up the musty smell. Very small elevators but a huge grand stairwell with beautiful marble steps. The upholstery on the walls was a extra ugly faded pink and grey and the bathroom was a strange green due to the green shades. The balcony was bigger than the entire room with sun beds. This was a pleasant surprise. The bed was hard and not so comfy. There was an cool lampy looking chandelier above the bed. The girls at the front desk were cute and the bell hop was fast. They don't have music videos on the tele which was a pleasantry of the time spent in our other hotels. Over all I don't recommend this hotel but with a remodel and some improvements it could be worthy.

Yelp
This hotel has been impressive from start to finish. The location is top notch. Any restaurant or "must see" recommendation offered by the staff has been nothing short of amazing. The room has the beauty of a grand hotel of a former time but has the modern amenities expected at a high end hotel. I happened to be here on my birthday and was overjoyed to see someone appear at my door with a plate of fruit, a bottle of champagne and a hand-written note from the staff wishing me a happy birthday. That attention to detail will make this my "go to hotel" any time I return to Rome!!

Yelp
This was an amazing hotel to stay in on our last night in Rome. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy everything they had to offer. Centrally located and a beautiful property Grand Hotel Palace was everything you want in an upscale hotel. We checked in and were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a larger suite. We were on the top floor with a cute patio with gorgeous views of the city. The room was large- even for US standards and had a very sophisticated decor and feel. The bathroom was spacious and had a separate tub/shower and a good selection of toiletries. The staff was exceptional and arranged the cheapest transportation to the airport we experienced all trip! The restaurant, Cadorin had indoor and outdoor seating and a decently sized menu and great wine list. I ordered the ravioli at the suggestion of the server and it was ok- slightly above average for what I had during the trip but I do have to say the asparagus it was served with was great! Overall- a great experience, great room, and great concierge service!

Yelp
From check-in to check-out we were very happy and pleased with our stay. The location of the hotel is fantastic-- on Rome's beautiful Via Veneto. It is located very close to the must-see attractions but far enough removed from the throngs of tourists. This elegant boutique hotel is quite charming. The front desk and restaurant staff were very helpful and accommodating. We booked a deluxe room for a little extra space and were pleasantly surprised to get one with a small balcony, which we used each morning. It was spotless and the beds were comfortable. Our reservation included breakfast. We thought the food was good and the buffet had a good variety. The restaurant host told us that the hotel was remodeled 10 years ago and will be renovated again next year. Overall an excellent experience and we would stay here again.

Yelp
We initially booked 2 rooms for our 2 children and my wife and I. When we checked in, they gave us 2 rooms on the handicapped floor. As a result, rooms were equipped for handicapped, no door in shower to be able to enter with a wheelchair, etc... I understand there is a need for handicap equipment in some rooms, but we never ask that and we are not handicapped yet... Besides that, the 2 rooms were smelly, floor and walls were old and very worn, some fixtures were falling apart, etc... When we start to complain that was not the level of quality we expect from a 5 star hotel, they showed us 2 other rooms, a little better, but still very old and worn out. When we looked more closely to the hotel in general, it looks worn out everywhere, walls, wood panels, furnitures, floors... the hotel needs a complete remodeling. As we were not satisfied even with the other rooms they showed us, we asked for our money back if they couldn't find a solution. Then the manager came in, was quite bully the way he talked and was very defensive instead of being nice. After arguing for a while at the point we said "let's leave and get refunded", he offered in last resort a big suite (like presidential suite or something). It calmed us down because as a consequence we were upgraded quite a lot. But as we say, suite was pretty from far, but far from pretty. Furnitures were old, worn out (couches) and very uncomfortable. A/C was making a loud rattling noise, so to be able to sleep we had to shut it down. The indoor pool was not working the first day and second day water was freezing cold (around 20°C). The second night, they forgot to do the turn down service, and they didn't give not even one little bottle of water for us. In conclusion, hotel is old and need full remodeling, deco is outdated and worn out, and staff especially the manager is not that nice and gave us an attitude instead of apologizing. It's not the kind of service and quality you expect from a 5 star hotel.
