Here's How to Plan a Trip to Naples and Ischia

"I stayed at Grand Hotel Parker's, a formal but friendly 79-room hotel located on a hill in the swish Naples neighborhood of Chiaia. Book a suite or Deluxe room for splendid views of the city, the Bay of Naples, and the island of Capri." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Parkers has a welcoming and attentive staff. The hotel is well appointed and seems to be the best hotel in the city. The room was very sturdy and quiet with quality linens and a two floor suite. The location of the hotel was tough if you like to leave and walk around, as it’s the height of summer and Naples is brutal on the main roads with no shade during August. Not Parker’s fault that it’s in a location that feels unwelcoming. That said, the Chiara neighborhood is apparently very safe and upscale for the city. Net net this is likely the top hotel in Naples and I credit the staff with being nice and attentive,

On our recent trip to Italy, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Parker's. We were a little concerned about staying in Naples based on previous stories we heard. Any reservations we had were put to rest when we drove up to the hotel.||Grand Hotel Parker's is located in a very safe residential area outside of the city center. However, it is extremely walkable to a number of delicious restaurants and high end shops. It is also close to a beautiful park and you can easily walk to water.||When you walk into the hotel it's like walking into a museum. The walls are lined with beautiful paintings and the lobby is adorned with sculptures that look like they were lifted from the Uffizi Gallery. ||The room was very comfortable and had a small balcony that provided a view of the Chiaia district below. The highlights of our stay here were the breakfasts and the fantastic service.||Every morning, we sipped cappuccinos while staring out the large windows that looked out to the water and to Mount Vesuvius. The staff not only brought out a variety of pastries, yogurts and fruit, but they were attentive to any custom requests (e.g. cold americano) and offered made-to-order dishes. Everyone was polite and friendly.||This warmth and affection also extended from the desk attendants and especially to the concierge. Unfortunately I forgot the gentleman's name, but he was always ready to help with a big smile, and he provided two restaurant recommendations which turned out to be the best meals of our trip. He would always greet us when we came back and asked how we liked it. He truly helped provide a family-friendly atmosphere.||If you are going to stay in Naples, I highly recommend Grand Hotel Parker's for the A+ staff, wonderful views, and convenience to the water.

The Hotel is 20 - 25 minutes by taxi to most attractions downtown. I did take off one star for location as some may want to stay closer to town. We liked the location as the Hotel is in a fairly quiet area which makes your room a perfect retreat when you need a break from the noise and heat. The room was very nice, old fashioned service is all around you. The staff are very attentive and are there to help you at all times. Typically we like to plan our own activities however this trip we decided to utilize the concierge services. Glad we did because Marco helped us numerous times: - organizing cars and drivers - recommending restaurants - recommending a beach club - buying tickets and making reservations Marco was very good, a true asset to the Hotel! If you want to go to Naples and stay at this Hotel! They also have great food. Be prepared for a finer dining experience. The restaurant has a large Terrace (level 6). This Terrace has amazing views. Pretty warm in the summer time so make sure to adjust the AC in your room to 18-19 degrees C.

we enjoyed an outstanding junior suite. the powder room downstairs was a great facility. The gym was adequate; the restaurant on level 10 was very good. We had one of the finest meals of our life at the Michelin star George restaurant. Truly outstanding. Service throughout the hotel was first class. personal, welcoming and professional.

From Tony's warm greeting to us -- first time guests treated like old friends - to our reluctant departure this was a great stay. Just the right size property -- ample space but never feels crowded. The tower room felt like having our own little Villa. Mike at the pool is a gem, the bartenders are charming, and the piano bar is a little slice of old school charm. Spa treatments are wonderful, we booked on arrival without difficulty. Conchetta's massages are magical. Fantastic sleep, great bed and blissfully quiet. Hotel location is a great starting point for wanders around the island, and the taxi driver they scheduled for us for a day trip to Sant'Angelo was utterly delightful. We shall be back!

Unbelievable hotel, offering amazing views. Staff were professional, warm and extremely helpful. This made our 2 night Naples stay an unforgettable experience. ||The rooms were exceedingly spacious, and the hotel iteself is beautifiul. I highly recommend having an afternoon drink on the rooftop outdoor terrasse, offering spectacular views of the bay (and city). ||Will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Naples and looking for a great experience.

We stayed in the Grand Parker Hotel while visiting Naples. We could not have been any more impressed. It truly is a “Grand” hotel. The art, the marble, the dining, the staff, the food /drinks were all are amazing. This is a beautiful and smartly managed space.

From the moment I arrived at this exceptional 5-star hotel, I knew I was in for something truly special. Every detail, from the warm welcome at the entrance to the breathtaking rooftop views, was sheer perfection. The service? Absolutely flawless. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive — it felt like being among friends who were also world-class hosts. A standout among them was Marco, the concierge. Charming, accommodating, and effortlessly graceful, Marco went above and beyond to ensure our experience was seamless and memorable. His recommendations were spot-on, and his personal touch made us feel truly valued. Now let’s talk about the view — *wow*. Dining on the rooftop with a sweeping panorama of the city skyline was like eating in a dream. Whether you're there for a romantic evening or a special occasion, the setting alone is worth the visit. And it wasn’t just the food and ambiance that impressed me. The attention to detail extended to every aspect of the experience. The slippers provided were plush and cozy — a small touch, perhaps, but a deeply luxurious one. And the vanity beauty sets? Divine. High-end products that made freshening up feel like a spa retreat. In short, this hotel didn’t just meet expectations — it soared far above them. A perfect blend of elegance, warmth, and world-class service. I can’t wait to return. Bravo!

Yelp
By far away, one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel extremely welcomed by the staff. The hotel has been newly renovated. The rooms are very quiet, but yet very spacious and have a modern upgrades to them. The hotel itself feels very luxurious. Going up to the terrace for breakfast or in the evening. The views of the city are absolutely incredible. I was fortunate to have a balcony and a view of the city. During breakfast, the owner was making the rounds taking to the guests that were visiting, which was something unique. But just the overall customer centric experience that the hotel provided was absolutely impeccable. The Grand Hotel Parker's is one the oldest hotels in Naples. An is apart of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. I was able to redeem 4 nights worth of Hyatt points. I cannot say enough about how incredible stay was!

Yelp
The staff at this hotel makes the experience a 5 star hotel. I just can't say enough about each and everyone I interacted with during our stay. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner who comfortably walked over and introduced himself during breakfast. Interacting with many of the customers, He was looking for feedback. Food was good. Rooms were comfortable. Just an overall great experience.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with impeccable service. Arrived early and was directed to terrace where we enjoyed the gorgeous view with some drinks and snacks. Room is comfortable, concierge service is always helpful and the location is a nice break from the bustle of Naples.

Yelp
The hotel is ok. Staff was nice enough but the restaurant is disgusting. The service was awful and the food was literally inedible. It's a 5 star hotel and they fed us the worst food we ate in our 14 days in Italy. The hotel may overlook the water but it's not near anything. The shower takes a plumber to figure out how to work it and water gets everywhere. The mini bar is pitiful and they give a complementary bottle of wine and there is no opener in the room to open it! They offer fire sticks but the. Tv in my room couldn't accommodate it.

Yelp
This hotel was the best pick for us in Napoli, and there was nothing about it that we did not love. The rooftop restaurant here alone was worth the stay. Clean room with a beautiful balcony and lots of small but much needed amenities in it. We didn't have a spectacular view, but the view that we did have was so captivating in a rustic sort of way. The elevator was cute and very charming, but again, the view from the restaurant up top early in the morning is truly wonderful.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! From the entrance, to lobby, to the downstairs bar. They have multiple classy sitting areas that you can have a cocktail and bar snack. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Once upstairs on our floor (5th floor)I walked into a bright white and beautiful elevator area. Once in the room there was a full mini bar and spacious, split bathroom. Multiple lighting options, HUGE king bed, big desk, spacious closet and chase lounge. There were beautiful French doors that led out to a small patio with the most gorgeous views of Bay of Naples. If you stayed on the 5th floor you had your own service elevator to the gym. It's night we got in we were starving but didn't want to leave to hotel so went to the sixth floor to the restaurant George's. All I can say is WOW. Best meal I've EVER had. Decided on the 6 course meal and it was the best decision ever. I chose to pair the courses with wine and omg best wine I had the entire trip in Italy! Afterward to to the champagne bar where the views are stunning. While I stayed here they offered a car service for the day so I took advantage and went down to the Amalfi Coast and was the best part of my trip. The only bad thing about my stay was the fact that they were doing construction work and didn't let their guest know they'd be working at 6 in the morning. Other than that beautiful stay at a elegant hotel. Would definitely book again!

Yelp
The staff is amazing, their level of customer service and diligence is fantastic. From every greeting to interaction and your meals, they are always providing a 5 star experience. The hotel has renovated floors with modern elements and gorgeous bathrooms. Please be sure to request a renovated room if you are used to more luxurious rooms. But what you get at the Grand Hotel Parker's is a phenomenal view and a private balcony! It's stunning. Overlooking the bay, Mount Vesuvius and Naples. All of the street facing rooms have this impeccable view. Breakfast was included very morning which was actually really good. It was continental and warm foods (eggs, meat, salmon, etc). The servers were consistently checking in and offering casual conversation which was great. Doesn't hurt that mimosas are included during brunch. We enjoyed the downstairs bar as well, the servers were more than attentive. Unfortunately due to renovations, we were not able to see the incredible rooftop bar nor use the spa amenities, but if the renovations are anything like the rooms, it'll be worth the wait! We'd specifically like to thank Francesco and Daniele for ensuring that our experience was beyond exceptional, they went out of their way to accommodate two walk in guests with no reservations. I'm confident that the experience I had with my husband is what the staff exemplifies day in and day out. If you are looking for a truly beautiful hotel experience, you should absolutely stay at the Grand Hotel Parker's, you won't be disappointed. The location is central to the shopping areas and walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Each night we went out and walked back to the hotel with no issues. The hotel does have a garage if you are traveling via car. There is wireless free internet at the hotel. I am using it now to write this review and have connected via our phones and had no issues.

Yelp
I LOVE this hotel. I'm not sure why the reviews are so poor. I stayed here in 2009 for a work trip. Then again in December of 2017. Since my last stay, the hotel has been renovated. We had a room with double beds that faced the sea w/ a balcony. I mean come on! It doesn't get any better than that. The beds were nice and comfy. I had no problem sleeping. The shower and bathroom is marble so be careful, it can be slippery. But honestly, I loved their attention to details with the robes, slippers, etc. I used everything and really got my relax on. I didn't hear noise from guests next door. The elevators are smaller than typical Western ones. But traditional for European lifts. The 6th-floor breakfast terrace and views were amazing. I would say get there early if you want a table. We arrived at 8:30ish and were able to sit close to the windows and had the best view. However, about an hour after being there the room was full. We had other guests ask if they could join us at the table. The staff in the restaurant were super wonderful. They turned tables over quickly and I had some of the best cappuccino's I've had in my life! There was a food and wine event happening in the lobby while we were there. Like a silent auction. Had no trouble getting a taxi/uber from in front of the hotel. It was also within walking distance about 7-10 min to the funicular.

Yelp
Yeah, this place kind of sucks. Its nice on the outside but the rooms are a dark/musty and the bathrooms are far from modern. The staff is rude and I swear one receptionist gave us bad directions out of spite. The service at the restaurant is even worse. At least the toiletries smell nice and the 6th floor terrace has good views.

Yelp
Place looks good in appearance, service was great. The bad thing about this place is after you turn on the water, and turn off, it you would hear a loud plumbing sound as if it's clogged. Had their breakfast and there were black little bugs around the bread, cheese and pastries. I couldn't eat after I saw it. Told the manager and he said he would take care of it and nothing was done. The next day, there were still little black bugs on them and some flying insects ... P Then I saw a black roach come out of the sink in bathroom and I turned on faucet to flush him done.. Wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and probably one of the nicest in Napoli but the service can use some improvement. Room was a decent size but had scuffings on the wall but other than that it was clean. Definitely expect better at a hotel like this. Breakfast was pretty terrible. Everybody that worked here seemed like they hated being there. This place has such potential because of how beautiful the hotel is but the service just needs to be greatly improved.

Yelp
Would have gave it two, but the price drops it another star. Rooms are just old, not classic. Things like a coffee or hot water maker aren't here. Internet is a joke, so don't plan to be able to work from this hotel. Staff goes from cold to rude. Restaurant is very pretentious and arrogant. Required guests to have long pants on terrace, in summer 90 degrees so asked us to sit In bar terrace next to it. I look over at restaurant terrace and what do I see, a guy in shorts. Area is supposed to be in a nicer area, but is dirty and away from shops and restaurants. Only good thing was we discovered a family run pizzeria and rotisserie called Corsari which was great.
