Grand Hotel Preanger

We had a short family vacation in Bandung and stayed a night here. It was a short but nice stay and the hotel is perfectly located right in the center, just a short walk to Braga street where you can explore local food spots and shops. The hotel is one of the older historic buildings in Bandung, dating back to the Dutch colonial era, but the property is well maintained and still feels clean and comfortable. It has a swimming pool and depending on where your room is, you can catch the sunrise with a mountainous backdrop. The room we stayed in was spacious enough and instead of curtains, the windows had sliding wooden panels, which gave it a unique touch. Overall, a convenient and comfortable place to stay especially for bigger groups.

Great room, nice hotel, truly reminiscing the good old days. You can still feel the charm and aroma of its past 5-star glory. While the property is well-maintained, it’s clear that a renovation would help make the rooms feel newer and fresher. The only area that really needs improvement is the breakfast—adding more protein options would make it much better. Overall, still a good hotel worth staying at.

Just had a memorable stay at Grand Preanger Bandung, a 5-star heritage hotel that stands tall with its timeless charm right in the center of the city. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a warm, classic ambiance that instantly transported us to a more elegant era. The architecture whispers stories of old Bandung, yet the comfort? Very much modern-day five-star. 💫 The rooms were clean, spacious, and cozy, making it easy to settle in. The staff? Exceptionally welcoming and attentive—service that makes you feel like a VIP. A highlight for us (especially my little one)? The swimming pool! Kids will love the outdoor space to splash around, and parents can enjoy some relaxation under the city sun. But—because no review is complete without some honest notes—here are a few things I hope the hotel can improve: The hair dryer in our room didn’t work, and the power outlet nearby was faulty. A small issue, but one that can easily be fixed for a better guest experience. The toilet floor tends to pool water when the shower is used, which could be uncomfortable and slippery. Overall, Grand Preanger remains a beautiful, nostalgic choice for anyone who wants to experience Bandung’s classic luxury in a strategic location. A little refresh on facilities, and this gem could shine even brighter! ✨ Would I come back? Yes—because charm like this is hard to find. 💖

The entrance is grand, however the room I was very rundown and the bed even older. This is not a budget hotel, yet the mattress was the worst I've ever slept on, with springs coming through. The linen was stained and old. The electrics were ancient and potentially dangerous. I requested to change rooms but none were available on a public holiday weekend. ||While I'd read reviews saying the rooms were 'tired', none actually spelt out just how bad they were. Our group had three different rooms, another was as bad as mine (despite being a suite), while the third seemed fine and the mattress comfortable. ||The hotel is in a good location. Signage currently displayed in the hotel apologies for inconvenience while they're upgrading the rooms. There was noise due to this but as I was avoiding spending time in the room, it wasn't an issue. Lets hope the renovations are extensive.

Stayed four nights at the historic Hotel Preanger, right at the 0 km point of Bandung city. It’s very close to Braga Street, perfect for young people who enjoy a hipster vibe. Besides its strategic location, the staff are extremely friendly and polite, with the unique humility and warmth of Indonesia. Among those I remember are Farrel at the reception, and most memorably, Pak Sugeng the concierge — very kind and respectful. Having a chit-chat with him felt like meeting an old friend, talking about the hotel, Bandung, and life. What a man. I hope to meet him again the next time I stay here.

We had the best time staying here. The staff are very helpful. Staff Sugeng assists us to find the best driver to go back to Jakarta. He really makes things easy for us. We will definitely come back again.

I stayed at Hotel Grand Preanger and had a really nice experience. Even though this is an old hotel, it still feels very pleasant and comfortable.||I booked an Executive King room, but they gave me a free upgrade to a Suite Room. That was a great surprise!||All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their warm service.||The location is also very good — it’s in the city center, so it's easy to go anywhere from the hotel.||The only thing that was just okay was the breakfast — nothing special, but still fine.||Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for a relaxing and convenient visit.
