The Best Hotels on Capri

"It’s hard to argue with a classic, time-tested grand hotel. Case in point: Grand Hotel Quisisana, which opened in 1845. Almost from the get-go, the hotel, just steps from Capri town’s central Piazzetta, was a favorite of politicians, poets, royalty, and rock stars. The terrace is a destination on its own, a place where people gather to watch life unfold on the streets below. But inside, it’s even better, with sumptuous guest rooms and public spaces filled with shimmering chandeliers, gleaming marble floors, and gilt mirrors, against a soothing palette of various shades of white."

Where Chefs Go: Nerano, Italy

"At their wedding celebration at the Grand Hotel Quisisana (established in 1861), Puck selected a local folk-dance troupe called Scialapopolo to entertain guests, which included the island’s very own mayor. A five-tier wedding cake made with Capri lemons set the tone for a significant day in this unique locale." - Marguerite Imbert

If looking for a once in a lifetime experience, stay here. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with pleasant staff and classic Italian decor. We had a pool view with terrace that was exceptional , peaceful and mesmerizing. Lounging by the pool, having lunch and cocktails was perfect and the view outstanding. End the day out front of the hotel having cocktails and the best people watching around.

We got to Capri by ferry from Sorrento. So nice to be met by Davide and Nino from the hotel right at the dock. They took care of our luggage and gave us tickets for the funiculaire along with directions to the hotel. What a magnificient building with a lively patio right in the front. Excellent location. Surrounded by stores/restaurants and scenic vistas. So nice to walk in any direction.||When we checked in, we received an upgrade so a great start. Roseann at the front desk was very helpful. Our room was spacious and beautiful. Bathroom amenities were good and the robes were very soft. They did provide water but curiously, there is no kettle or tea/coffee in the room.||The breakfast service was very good. Upon departure, they took our luggage to the port where we met Davide and Nino again and they loaded the luggage onto the ferry.

Another wonderful stay. The hotel had some room upgrades which was nice. The staff are always accommodating and pleasant. The food is delicious. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and always have had a great stay. I’d say Capri is getting too full with day tourists and very large crowds which takes a bit away from the Capri experience.

The Quisisana is the Grand Dam of Capri!!! This is the most wonderful hotel on the Island. The moment you enter the main lobby you are in the most special place. To the right at check-in, you are always treated with the best of care. The concierge with Antonio and the whole team are the BEST! The rooms are wonderful. My room has been redone and it is perfect. The housekeeper is so nice. They have a wonderful fitness center and the trainers are the best. The pool i the largest hotel pool on the island. the whole pool and garden area are a special sanctuary! Lunch here is a must. The food is awesome. At night you must have cocktails at the Quisi bar before going to dinner. It is the best bar and bar scene on the island. Cristiano and the team are so wonderful! I can't say enough positive about the hotel and its team. I can say that both team and hotel are why we have continued coming back for over 20 years in a row.

Hotel Quisisna is a beautiful five star hotel with gorgeous marble lobby, stunning chandeliers and beautiful Italian furniture with a modern flair. The hotel services is impeccable. The hotel arranges your ferry tickets to Capri with a greeter when you get off the ferry to meet you and with a porter to carry your luggage to the hotel. The service to and from the hotel is first class. Our room was beautifully decorated with a balcony and spectacular sea view. The outside Quisi bar in front of the hotel is so much fun to people watch and is in a great location right next to high end designer stores. Staying at this hotel for two nights made our Capri|trip so much more enjoyable

Literally it is the best hotel in Capri. They try their best to make you feel happy and comfortable. The room is pretty, clean, and comfy with a balcony with city view. Also, since they knew about the purpose of our visit (Honeymoon) they sent us two complimentary gifts in two different days and that was really nice of them and made our stay more special and enjoyable. I really recommend the hotel and of course we will definitely choose it for our future visits.

Slice of Paradise||You exit the ferry and in all the confusion there they are to meet you and escort you to a slice of paradise. It begins with the entrance to the hotel’s magnificent lobby and continues with its extraordinary team of professionals from top to bottom who smile and genuinely make you feel the warmth of welcome. Perfection continues throughout this hotel from its food and beverage taste and presentation; live music in the bar; beds and pillows that wrap you in luxury; beautiful views of the island throughout. And, finally, tears when you have to say “goodbye!”

Let’s not be ridiculous – this hotel is nowhere near the standard of other Leading Hotels of the World!!! I had issues particularly with the ladies at reservations, who were frankly rude and unprofessional. I repeatedly asked to speak with the manager, Mr Antonio D’Alisa, but never received a response despite several follow-ups. Is this really how a returning guest should be treated? Or the level of service one expects from a five-star hotel? The style is dated – even slightly tacky – and they simply do not deserve to be part of such a prestigious hotel programme. So if you’re used to top standards, avoid! I will also be sharing this feedback with Leading Hotels of the World directly. In line with the most basic principles of top-level hospitality, not being given the opportunity to speak with the manager is entirely unacceptable

Yelp
Gorgeous, stunning, world class hotel. Beautiful location in the heart of the town of Capri, with spacious grounds, gardens, pool, pool restaurant (La Colombaia) spa, breakfast room, and lobby bar/cafe with indoor and outside seating (Quisi). Guests have included celebrities, politicians, writers. Artists and designers. Apparently, F. Scott Fitzgerald stayed in Capri for 2 months while writing his first novel, The Great Gatsby, and spent his afternoons here, with his wife. Our good friend stayed here for a week and had an amazing time. It's a bit pricey for us - this week in September, was €1,000-€3,000/night. Although it does drop to €580 on one night, Sun. Sept. 29. Maybe some day we'll come off season., and enjoy this spectacular place.

Yelp
We had drinks and food here but did not stay over. The service is excellent and professional. The restrooms are some of the nicest in the world. The hotel grounds are absolutely fantastic. Have a drink and people watch and enjoy the local vibe. I imagine staying overnight in the hotel would be amazing.

Yelp
Did not stay at the hotel but we do go a lot to the bar outside and have great drinks. I recommend the princess drink, its champagne with mini strawberries and mint. Delicious. The service was great but I must admit it was a bit annoying that they brought us the check so quickly. Anyways the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. A good place to go to before going out to the club right next to it. We also met the designer Valentino at this hotel and took pictures with him. This hotel is very exquisite. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
My wife and I came here for lunch. We got pizza and local meats and cheeses. The prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly. Plus, they had great free wifi. Definitely glad we came!

Yelp
Stole my bag from inside my room - I stayed at the Quisianna the week of August 25,2021 for my birthday. I was so excited as it was my first trip to Capri and everyone had virtually recommended for me to stay this incredible hotel. I couldn't wait. The place is gorgeous. However, during that stay, my Dior Canvas bag, which I travelled on the plane with, was stolen from my room. I noticed it was missing during the middle of my stay despite not having used it since the plane. When I went to the hotel concierge, they were incredibly rude and couldn't help me. They blamed me for the bag missing and made me feel like a burden. I asked the hotel to direct me to the police to file a missing item report, and the hotel sent me to them after the police office was closed. I'm shocked by my experience here. It was my birthday so I was hoping to have a pleasant time but to have such a bad experiencing was traumatizing. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
Beautiful luxury hotel. Gourmet eating, beautiful views. Central location in lovely Isle of Capri. You cannot go wrong unless you don't like heights!

Yelp
The Quisisana is an amazing hotel with old world charm. Gorgeous, gorgeous grounds with impeccable service. The junior suite was well-furnished and very spacious. Great toiletries and amenities, I still have a bottle of their signature perfumed water and lotion. Having breakfast on the patio with a view of the pool and the Faraglioni in the distance is a memory that will delight me for years to come. We had dinner at the restaurant (Bar Quisi) one night and the pianist entertained us by playing a requested song. The food was delicious and service again was a high point. Another thing we really enjoyed was having cocktails in front of the hotel and people-watching on the piazzetta. The location is absolutely wonderful for exploring the nooks and crannies of Capri, of which there are many. The massages we got were amazing as well. Their spa waiting room has these very comfy loungers that "cupped" your body in the most relaxing way possible. All in all, this hotel is definitely worth the splurge!

Yelp
One of the most beautiful hotels and places we have been to in the world. We made memories at La Colombaia, memories in their bathroom ;) and memories in Capri for a lifetime. A wonderful, classy, elegant, gorgeous piece of Italy that appears handmade by God himself.

Yelp
Wow is the only way to describe it. What a beautiful and elegant hotel. From the gorgeous entry and bar on the steps to the understated italian pool overlooking the cliff, this hotel is the gold standard for capri. While there may be other equally as nice hotels, the best part of the quisiana is the location. Nothing beats being able to walk for gelato in just a few short steps from your room. A must visit at least to see the grounds on any trips to capri.

Yelp
This is an amazing hotel with probably the best location in Capri, right in the center of town. Serious shopping location for the ladies. Hotel is a grand old hotel with beautiful grounds, palatial lobby, and spectacular views from the back. They have rooms of all sizes and with city and ocean views at a range of pricing. They have a nice gym with weight lifting equipment, including free weights and machines, a few treadmills and elliptical. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with scrambled eggs, vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, and bread. The pool is very nice with a good view, it is very quite though and there are many old people. If you are younger and looking for a more social atmosphere, I would recommend a beach club, which still are quite as nowhere in Capri has any music played at the pool that I had been. I only had 2 issues with the hotel, the price of drinks, then the service. A can of soda by the pool with rum you 12 euros. You would think if people would be willing to pay that, they would have people waiting on them for orders, but no. I tell people you may able to die of dehydration at the pool at the Quisi because the service is so slow. It takes 10-15 minutes to find someone to take an order. The lunch by the pool at the Quisi was my favorite meal in all of Capri. The pizza and calzone are amazing, the seafood risotto was delicious and elegant. The chicken though was a bit dry. The squash Parmesan is maybe the best dish in all of Capri. Overall, great hotel, would score better with me if the service matched the price level.

Yelp
Stunning hotel, very luxurious, high class service. We ended up leaving Positano in a room we already paid for to stay in this hotel for a night and were happy to do so. Centrally located, gorgeous views. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Just ordered one coffee. A bit pricey,(5x normal price Here) but good quality and service.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Even ate breakfast next to Michael Kohrs. Upgraded room wasn't the best though. You had to walk 3 steps to get to the bathroom. My hubby fell down them in the middle of the night. Dangerous set up. We had a city view, they changed us to the pool front. Not the best place. Very nice staff. Breakfast was good. The donuts were ridiculous. My hubby is dreaming of the Nutella filled one still. OMG. Great concierge.

Yelp
We just stayed here as our first stop on our honeymoon in Italy. It was recommended by friends and it was everything we were told. From our welcome at check in to our check out, our only complaint is that we wish we spent a few more days here. Our room was beautiful with a great view, the staff was friendly and helpful, the concierge always seemed available and took care of reservations and our luggage for us with no problems. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the pool is great and the staff at the pool are ready to get you chairs, towels and umbrellas as soon as they see you. This is a 5 Star hotel all around. Even the buffet breakfast included with our room was amazing. We've stayed at other 5 star hotels in Italy and have not always been thrilled, but the Quisisana is one of our favorite hotels we have ever been to.

Yelp
This review is for the hotel bar II Quisi and not the hotel itself. My wife and I entered the bar and sat down to listen to a Ray Charles impersonator. Not one person in the bar was interested in listening to him. Everyone was sitting on the patio and couldn't care less about the piano singer. My wife asked permission from the waiter to take pictures of the room and the impersonator. Once she took a picture, the impersonator rudely asked her if she was going to take pictures all night. After that comment, wife said she was going to delete the picture and we got up and left. Leaving the Ray Charles impersonator back to singing to an empty room. The hotel should definitely reconsider hiring a impersonator with this type of attitude.

Yelp
By far, the best experience of our honeymoon thus far. We stayed at la minerva hotel which is beautiful but does not have a hotel bar. We stopped by this place to have a nightcap before returning to our hotel and met the best bartender in the world, yes, the world! Carmine! He actually smoked rosemary in front of us for our martini! Rafael and Paulo are a father/son team that manages the place to perfection. The piano player tied the entire night together with Elton John! We had to return every night because this place is too good to pass up! We are now in Positano and are considering s ferry ride back to Capri to visit this exquisite staff!

Anthony C.

Yelp
Absolutely the best hotel on Capri! The Quisi bar has an amazing veranda centrally located on the Via Camerelle which provides the last of the evening sun and people watching. Cristiano and the rest of the staff make you feel like family!

Yelp
this place is beautiful and a member of the leading hotels of the world. we stopped by for a drink, and let me tell you, it was the most expensive drink i've ever had (21 euros a pop!). however, it was delicious, and they served you an antipasti plate, olives and mixed nuts. by the end of it, we didn't even need to eat dinner! this hotel is gorgeous. highly recommend it, even just for a look-around.

Annie P.

Yelp
Came here every night for drinks. Definitely expensive but the ambiance and drinks were worth it. A most go to when visiting Capri.

Yelp
Did not stay here but stopped by for a drink. They served chips and olives with the drinks. Service was impeccable. Very high class place. The terrace is a nice place to just sit and enjoy your time. Have to say that it probably was one of the most expensive drinks I've ever had. About 20 euros. Ouch!!
