Nice 4-star hotel perfectly located next to the sea in a lovely little seaside resort town, not far from Gallipoli. Rooms are clean and functional. The breakfast buffet is good, there is a pool and a small private beach (but no sand) just across the street. The parking lot in the back is perfect, the reception staff was very nice and professional, housekeeping and breakfast team as well. Bartenders maybe a little less so though, and as I always dined outside, I couldn't rate the restaurant.

Good in parts||Stayed here with a group of travellers from a Great Rail Journey tour. First impression, the sea front setting is quite stunning. The rooms are bright and have various outlooks, some have sea views, others no view. The balconies are on the small side. Although bright, there is limited artificial light when it comes to the evening and I could only use one power point for charging various appliances. The breakfast buffet provided a good choice, but the dinners were less impressive. The anti pasta - three items served on the same plate, not ideal if the choice wasn’t to your taste, there was a choice on the second and third course, although portions on the main course tended to be small with a lack of vegetables. Dessert was buffet style with quite a good choice. With a number of large groups the dining room could be a little noisy in the evening.

Fairly average but clean hotel but a good location between two small, but charming villages. Lovely restaurants in Santa Maria Al Bagno and the promenade walk to Santa Caterina was lovely too. |Breakfast is not good…tinned fruit, burnt scrambled eggs and some mornings there was a real lack of pastries - not really acceptable at a 4 star. It’s like the food was sometimes left out for day two if it wasn’t finished the previous morning. |Spa is fairly poor and small. |Good location though but you need a car to travel around and it’s paid parking at €10/day.

We stayed for ten nights at the Grand Hotel Riviera in July. On arrival we were told that we had one of the best rooms in the hotel and it was spacious with a view of the sea. The positives for the hotel were the attentive staff, the cleanliness, and the beautiful tiled floors! We were very disappointed with the pool area which definitely needs an upgrade and didn't feel as clean as everywhere else. The boarded area on the rocks is fine but be aware that getting in and out of the sea is tricky with lots of rocks to clamber over. The sea was quite rough during our stay which meant either the red flag was up or it was even more hazardous getting in and out. There is a lifeguard . Another disappointment was the bar area which is in the foyer of the hotel with a few chairs on the patioed terrace at the front overlooking the busy road. We were half board and there is only one restaurant so dinner is served in the same place as breakfast. We were expecting fresh melon, pineapple etc but there was only tinned fruit although a melon platter was available to buy on the menu. There was fresh juice. Apart from that breakfast was sweet pastries, sliced bread and some continental hams etc. Dinner was often strange, a few good dishes but not many. There is a barbeque once a week on a terraced area near the pool which the staff work really hard at but the food was really poor which seems a shame. The area is very quiet, there are some bars/restaurants around a 15/25 minute walk away both left and right out of the hotel. We would advise hiring a car, there is a local car hire place but enquire before you go as we couldn't get one for 5 days. We visited Lecce and Gallipoli which were interesting but we weren't impressed with any of the beach areas that we visited. Overall very quiet area, would advise a short stay, hire a car and definitely shoes for the sea.

This hotel is nicely located next to the sea, but service is very bad for orders at the pool or at the beach. The people barely speak English (too bad for a 4stars hotel) and got orders of everyone mostly wrong all the time. Other than this, the hotel is clean, rooms are ok, but some molds in showers. Also, this hotel is for retirees, if you are under 60, you should find another one

We've just spent 10 nights in this hotel. The breakfast food was far from fresh. The scrambled egg was burnt most days or soggy other days. Tinned fruit and pastries that tasted like they were left over from the previous day. The evening buffet was so bad that the amount of food left over on plates was shocking. There was no lunch available when we enquired even though we were told it was available, The pool was so cold it was empty thd whole time. Around the pool area there was ants everywhere. The room air conditioner was not set individually and it was so hot at night we were unable to sleep. We were advised to leave the window open,in which we done. The next morning both of us were covered in mosquito bites. The last day we were there ,we had no hot water at all. We did complain to management and we received a small discount off our bill. I would not recommend this hotel af all. It is not a 4 star hotel by no means.

We’ve just got back from this hotel after a short visit for my Special Birthday! Lovely location within walking distance to lovely harbour and 2 small towns! Room was ok but after paying for a upgrade thought it could have been a better view and balcony, (very small) Food was very orthentic but would have been nice to have more variety! Staff in restaurant very helpful but my husband tried to organise flowers and a cake through the reception but was met with a negative response which was disappointing! Mostly a pleasant experience!

An outstanding hotel that delivers in every way. |We arrived late and they had kept back a cold plate for us. The rooms and facilities are immaculate and cleaned regularly. The total is stunning. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and this is on par with some. |Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. |We chose half board and could move dinner to lunch if wanted.|The staff on reception go over and above and Alexandros was exceptional, helping us with taxis and tours.|The two local towns are a short walk away and had plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. |Be warned the night starts at approximately 9pm and can last until the very early hours, so take a nap in the afternoon.|The area is very safe and clean. |Not many other English people here which was fabulous to soak up the Italian atmosphere.
