Grand Hotel Seeschlösschen Sea Retreat & SPA

Perfectly located on the beach with beautiful view from the rooms on the seaside. Nicely decorated rooms, friendly staff and a very good breakfast. Pools both indoor and outdoor and fitness room is also a big advantage. We had a great stay at this beautiful hotel.

Excellent location, right on the beach. Yet plenty of other restaurants and shops in walking distance. Lovely, bright, spacious rooms with great views. The lobby has cosy seating for afternoon tea. Breakfast was a real highlight; served in a restaurant with massive windows, a big patio and great selection of food. We sat and chatted for hours! There is an indoor pool, plenty loungers, sauna and treatment rooms. Staff were friendly, helpful and very polite. We hired bikes, explored the area and walked for miles along the beach. All round fabulous stay for our family of 3 generations. We‘ll come again!

I had complained separately in person as well as on their own review platform before. Now one month later, there has been no response. I had been hesitant about choosing this property because they had already poor reviews on booking.com, however I had hoped to have a different experience. Positive: it is a stunning location right on the beach and from the rooms you have a beautiful view no matter if you’re looking into the green lush field or onto the water. You have direct access to the beach and breakfast is a great buffet with a lot of variety. Some of the rooms as well as the The dining area has been recently renovated. Housekeeping is spot on and everything was very clean. Negative: Upon arrival they had confused our bookings and it wasn’t prepared for three people just for 2 nor was the breakfast included as booked. Despite calling beforehand to make sure that everything was all right with the reservation. When we arrived, we asked if we could still eat something and reception said yes we can and we had still 15 minutes according to the opening times of the restaurant but when we walked over, they said no we already closed the kitchen. Either these are your opening times or they are not. Construction was going on and we were awoken at 7 AM. There was no information at time of Booking that there would be construction. Various amenities did not work in the hotel room such as my shower there was no water and it took a couple times asking for somebody to come. Order a salad in the restaurant for 8pm and add 815 it still was not ready. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety to choose from. However, your breakfast chef cannot interact with guest. He is rude and makes inappropriate comments. For nearly 300 Euros a night I have a different expectation

We left this place very tired and disappointed. Tired from being quiet all the time, because place feels like a hospital more than family friendly summer holiday destination… Also they supposed to be pet friendly but actually dog can be only at the room… Not at the outside pool area, not at the terrace, not at the nearby beach, not at the restaurant… So one of us had to be with the dog so that she doesn’t freak out from being alone all day long. Talking at the apartment terrace at the evening is also not wise idea, since your neighbors will complain immediately. So you can look at the see in silence.. We payed 1480€ for 3 nights and for that price we got smelly room with stained carpet. We paid extra bed for our daughter and it was behind the door so it looked very unfortunate. We expected that the breakfast would be the highlight of our stay but it was really cheap. Big offer at first, but really cheap product. For gluten/lactose intolerance there is basically no offer. I got defrosted gluten free bread and thats it. There was some cheap lactose free milk. Really unsatisfying considering the price and reputation of that place. On the bright side: stuff is very polite and friendly. Location is amazing and view is breathtaking. But thats not enough definitely. Apartment must be much better/modern looking for that price range. Food should be much better quality and up to standards of pricy hotels. Pet friendly should be clearly defined on website. About the atmosphere I assume one cannot do much, but some music could bring a spirit of joy a bit.. It is too depressing. We will treasure it as one experience we wish we payed less.

Excellent service, pool, fitness area, room with balcony and spectacular view over the bay. Breakfast was superb. In a hotel with three or more stars, I would expect tea and coffee making facilities as standard equipment. A coffee machine was provided only on request.

Whenever I rate a hotel or restaurant I look at three things:||a) service/courtesy|I booked a room with seaview. When entering the room I found that it was obstructed seaview. Hence I contacted the reservation and was told that I must have overlooked the comment. I told them, that my reservation clearly mentions seaview. After 5 minutes I was offered a different room with the request to pay 60 Euros more. I told them that I would leave and asked them to clear my credit card. 10 minutes later I was cold and shown a room with unobstructed sea view. If hotels leverage different channels such as HRS, orbitz, expedia, etc. they should make sure to clearly describe the rooms AND not to get into discussions with customers who have paid a premium. ||b) price/value|The room I finally got had a good price value and the ambiente of the room was very nice. ||c) room or meal/ambiente|The room was nice. However the bed was split into two parts on a wooden floor. So, the bed are wandering apart if you move across the border. The sea view was very nice. The bathroom was great as well.||The best thing about the hotel is the terrace where you can have breakfast looking directly towards the sea.

This Hotel is definitely the best place at Timmendorfer Strand. Breathtaking views, spacious rooms, good service. Grand Hotel , the name speaks for itself. This time the pools were not available due to renovation and Corona restrictions. Prices therefore still very high, but the location a bit more towards Niendorf, which is a bit more quiet is the best. The Restaurant and food is on a very high standard. Beach is just on your doorstep.

Good location with beautiful sea view, a good restaurant, spacious room (we had a junior suite) with balcony partly overlooking the sea and partly the beautiful gardens. The bed was disappointing; not a double bed but two small single beds placed together with unconfortable single duvets and cushions.||Service was reasonable but the minibar overlooked and not properly stocked. We ordered room service the last evening of our stay; it arrived but had to chase it. The hotel only accepts Visa and domestic cards but not American Express which is unusual for a Grand Hotel.

We've been with the family at the apartments of the grand hotel Seeschlösschen. Just across the street. Very nice and comfortable place to stay. You can stay in your privacy and still can use all comfort of the grand hotel. Will return for sure.
