A Guide to Turin, Italy’s Most Elegant City | Vogue

"Among Turin’s best high-end stays, this hotel is ripe for refurbishment, but its central location and guarantee of five-star hospitality make it an ideal launchpad for luxury travelers." - Monica Mendal

This 5-star hotel is perfectly located downtown Turin. For example, the Museo Egizio is like 5 minutes walking distance. The staff is very kind, whether it is at the front desk or the breakfast area (breakfast buffet is perfect by the way). A special thumbs up to the barman (sorry, couldn't catch his name) who, for sure, really knows what he's doing behind his bar! The hotel is very old, but clean and refreshed. You somehow feel like you're in the late 20's while reading a newspaper in the entrance hall, it's got charm and elegance. It's definitely a good address for a short stay in Turin. The only downside is that single rooms are quite small. Which means that if you're staying only a few nights, that's all right, but for a long vacation, it wouldn't do, at least not for me.

We have stayed here through choice a number of times, travelling all the way by train from our home in North Yorkshire (UK). This time we felt our room was getting a little tired, especially worn surfaces in the bathroom. The principal staff are, as ever, very willing and helpful, though some on duty at breakfast looked harassed and could have been more pro active if (possibly) they had not been under so much pressure to perform. Breakfast food quality remains reasonably good but isn't as spectacular as the Sitea prices would suggest. Our main gripe came when, the day before our departure, we advised we had an early train to catch and hoped the hotel could provide us with a few breakfast eats for our journey. Shock! Horror! We had asked for something outside the spreadsheet. Not a good idea. Advised probably not possible. Early next morning, when we made the same enquiry, the duty manager was much more helpful and promised something to sustain us on our journey. But, he failed to produce anything before we had to take our taxi to Porta Susa train station which he knew was waiting for us!|So, in summary, the Sitea at 100 years remains a lovely place to stay but needs to up it's game and undertake improvements if it wants to remain Turin's premier hotel. We shall leave a separate review about their Bistro restaurant next door where we had two, unremarkable, dinners. Again, another area requiring improvement. At least the American bar and Beppe provided the reliable service we have come to expect from the Grand Sitea.

I did not expect my stay in Turin to be such a disappointment, especially in a hotel that claims to be five-star. The room I was initially given was dusty, the toilet was not working, and there was a strong sewage smell throughout the entire room. The bathroom had visible mold, which is completely unacceptable at this level. Only after three nights was I finally moved to another room. After the holidays, I eventually met a manager who was clearly a professional. However, during the first three days, the reception desk was staffed by very young and inexperienced employees who seemed completely lost and unable to address serious issues. I am sorry, but this is not a five-star hotel experience. Expectations and reality were far apart.

Perfect location, amazing blend of historic luxury and new tech amenities. The service was professional, friendly and top notch. They helped us with everything we needed, the breakfast was delicious. I have stayed in few different hotels in Torino but this was by far the best experience, definitely worth the price. My only note would be to improve the cocktails at the bar, but the location is so great you are only two steps away from all the best bars.

The grand hotel is excellent. The location is very central but it is in a quiet area. It has style and large comfortable rooms. Service was very pleasant. There is a good buffet. We enjoyed our stay.

It's a highly-regarded hotel, praised for its central location, and elegant decor. A consistent highlight for me is the breakfast experience. It's a generous and varied buffet that receives high praise for its quality and wide selection. Also a special treat is being able to enjoy breakfast in the hotel's charming private garden. The high quality of the food, combined with the pleasant setting, makes it a memorable and satisfying start to the day.

This is a lovely, well located hotel but it doesn’t rate as a five star. Our room was comfortable and charming yet dated. When we arrived there was no one to help with our bags. Turn down service is at 3 pm; you have to ask for a later time and when we did our face towels were mistakenly replaced with bath mats!|Breakfast is nice but the coffee meager. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and impossibly attractive. Do stay here, but lower your expectations.

The hotel is located right in the city center. All the sights are within walking distance. You can also walk to the embankment and the park nearby. We had a spacious room of good quality. Yes, it is not new and a little shabby, but in very good condition. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is varied and delicious. The staff is very responsive. Although if they recommend going to the restaurant opposite - do not go) The hotel does not have parking, but there is an agreement with a garage 5 minutes walk away. We enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
No reason to look anywhere else for a hotel in Turin. This is a beautiful hotel located in the City Centre near many shops and restaurants. Great breakfast buffet each morning, nicely appointed and comfortable rooms, excellent showers. But, what sets this hotel apart is the service. All the staff are incredibly responsive and helpful. Parking is a breeze for only 25 euros. Just park outside the front door and your car is moved to a secure, private garage. If you will need again within the next couple of hours they will park in their interior courtyard. We used Turin as our base of operations, but on two occasions we left for two days (skiing at Courmayeur and bullet train to Rome). In both cases we didn't want to haul all of our luggage. No problem--they held our luggage until we returned. We enjoyed our time in Turin and will definitely come back. There's no question where we will stay--Grand Hotel Sitea!

Yelp
Okay, so the 5 stars here might be because we booked the Executive Double Room...but WOW! We felt like royalty! The room was huge and had beautiful details like crown molding, high-end materials and a walk-in closet. Equipped with robes, slippers and other luxuries we almost didn't want to leave the room. The hotel itself was really nice as well, and we almost felt like Kevin in Home Alone 2. The breakfast included an impressive selection of meats, cheeses, breads, etc. It's too bad we only had one night here! As for the area- we were able to walk to several nearby shops & restaurants. Parking was a breeze.

Yelp
Where do I begin!! I love classy historic hotels and this one was exactly that. A great stay we had one night in July 2016. The room was large with a beautiful delicious bathtub and great products. Cozy and comfortable bed. Beautiful views of Turin out the windows that opened for fresh air. Breakfast buffet was exceptional and filling. Check out my photos for more love. A perfect location in beautiful Turin!

Yelp
Located in the best part of town, right in the center of the old city very close to the Piazza San Carlo and the Piazza Castello and most of the attractions in this kind of quiet but lovely town. The hotel is meticulously kept, and the service is attentive and friendly but never intrusive, just what we look for in a property. Breakfast was excellent with something for everyone and great custom cappucini each morning. Beautiful branded robes, slippers and amenities in the spotlessly clean room, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return.

Yelp
Getting straight to the point, this is one of the GREAT hotels. Every detail has been lovingly considered. I usually lean toward economy, thinking where I sleep is relatively unimportant compared to other aspects of my travel. I decided to treat myself on my first visit to Torino, and I'm so glad. This hotel either has the most enlightened owners/managers or its employees just love working here or, most likely, both.

Yelp
Fabulous fancy hotel. Pretty pricey but super nice and amazing breakfast. It's also located really close to the egyptian museum. If you stay here go to the patio behind the restaurant and look for the cute little turtle family.

Yelp
Basically a nice old hotel, but missing many details. Breakfast is more like a conference buffet. Room is lacking an iron and hair dryer. Bar is ways too expensive (8 EUR for a small beer).

Yelp
This hotel would have been a 4-5 star experience aside from the fact that they turn off the air conditioning to your room during the hottest part of the day! Thank goodness it is just 70 degrees today! Without air the Windows provide limited air to make the room only moderately tolerable. I can't imagine returning on my next visit next month! This should be noted on the website and prior to reservation! My husband went to reception and they told him nothing could be done, but 5 minutes after posting the air conditioning was turned on. Not sure there is a correlation but happy my husband went down and happy that they were so responsive.
