I stayed at the hotel during the stormy weather in September, so the choice of hotel really mattered as naturally that was the most secure place to stay at. I must say I was very impressed by the hard working concierge service, especially Luka, who was guiding us from the moment we arrived at Lake Como to discover that there was no way to get to the hotel by land due to a landslide. I had established connection with the hotel concierge before arrival via WhatsApp and it was very convenient and reassuring once I needed to find out more info on arrival to Lake Como. Also, as the hotel is located in Menaggio, Luka went out of his way to tell us about the best sites we could visit in one day once the weather cleared.||The room and the hotel were impeccable - the room was cosy and clean and the hotel had that grand feel to it yet modern and not intrusive. ||We enjoyed the bar with its bespoke cocktails and amazing service. Also, the spa was a great getaway place when it was raining outside and I spent 4 hours inside. It truly has everything to relax and take it slow. I especially enjoyed the various showers with essential oils. The artificial fire room imitating the forest campfire was a great retreat where we were sipping hot tea to cool down after the sauna.| |I stayed at another famous hotel in the area, but it can't be compared to Grand Hotel Victoria on many levels. The breakfast service here was also superb with great variety of food. The food was really tasty and most importantly the buffet had everything you could imagine with quick personalised service!

This was our third (and favorite) luxury hotel on our Backroads tour. Our room was right up a marble staircase. The staff are unfailingly attentive and friendly, and I was really pleased to see that they were all wearing white sneakers (!!) which probably contributed to their lovely attitudes. Best breakfast buffet I've ever experienced, with rosti, figs, omelettes, and pastries galore. Dinner was delicious as well. The hotel is right across from the gorgeous lake. I would most definitely love to return to this hotel.

The staff truly made our stay exceptional. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine sense of hospitality were evident at every moment, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A special mention goes to Mrs Speziale, who graciously upgraded us to a room with a better view as soon as it became available during our stay, a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. The concierge team was also outstanding, managing to secure tables in fully booked restaurants and arranging a driver for us even at the very last minute. The spa was another highlight: impressively spacious and perfectly designed for complete relaxation. We also loved the various areas dedicated to rest and leisure, including the swimming pool and the beach club. Everything seems carefully planned to ensure that guests can fully enjoy themselves, even over several days. Breakfast was remarkable, generous, varied, and delicious. Fresh watermelon juice, chocolate fondants, focaccia, and many other options made every morning a real pleasure. The only minor drawback was the payment policy: the room had to be prepaid by card over the phone to confirm the booking, unlike other hotels where paying on-site is possible. Still, this small inconvenience was far outweighed by the overall quality of the service and the thoughtful touches that made our stay so enjoyable.

Absolutely fabulous place! The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Room was spacious with two bathrooms and a terrace, plus some lovely treats left in our room on a daily basis. Breakfast was so delicious and abundant - fresh juice and fruits, hot buffet, cheeses, meats and breads. And the view! Stunning. I didn’t want to leave!

The setting is sublime! Our room, while well outfitted, was just larger than a small walk in closet. The desk politely told us we had a special room...and that it was. On the 5th floor, likely a former room of the "help." Steps up to the rear facing balcony with a reasonable view. And the spa....wow! And, OMG, could they make it any more confusing. It takes a tour and a few visits to figure the thing out. The bathrooms in the spa are NOT outfitted with the amenities you find in the room. No lotions or any shavers. And try to find the towels, both in the locker room and outside in the spa area. No jacuzzi is over a warmish 90 degrees F or so. And, it's very very dark which I guess the designers think is cool. No, it just adds to the confusion of the set up. The GHV is a beautiful place but needed a bit more thinking and practicality. Do not expect 5 star perfection. Expect 4 star in a flawed 5 star property.

We ended our honeymoon here and couldn't have asked for a more luxurious experience. The staff is friendly and caters to every need with a smile. The location is great, as Menaggio offers the most town-like feel (compared to other more touristy-feeling towns on the lake). The hotel is walkable to the town center and ferry stop, but is in a location that provides privacy and quiet. All meals we had at the hotel were great. Our only regret was not spending enough time in the spa!

Stayed here with my mom for a few days and we absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond, the room was spacious and had two bathrooms, and the view and grounds were spectacular! ||The breakfast buffet was abundant and included with the room. Fresh fruits, juices, hot buffet, large variety of meats, cheeses and pastries, and plenty of gluten free options if needed.||We didn’t get a spa treatment, but we checked it out and it looked incredible - various pools and saunas and steam rooms.||I want to go back!

Dream hotel at a dream vacation destination! If I ever make it back to Lake Como, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Grand Hotel Victoria again! The location is great, the property itself is stunningly beautiful, and the service was solid. My fiance and I stayed in one of the standard rooms which didn't offer a great view, though the room itself was decently spacious with modern and sleek decor. We had plenty of space during our 5-night stay, and the bathroom was also nice with a big shower, a good amount of counter space, and comfy robes. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were welcomed in our room with a bottle of champagne and a variety of fruits plus little biscuits. Throughout our stay, housekeeping was good except they kept taking one of our robes for some odd reason (so we kept having to call to get another robe lol). We also chatted with the concierge on several occasions about logistics of getting around the lake, and they were quite helpful. With my fiance's Hilton diamond status, we got complimentary breakfast which we took advantage of every morning. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, though I would caution against outdoor seating if the sun will be beating down. Nonetheless, the breakfast space is SO bright and beautiful, plus you get lovely views of the lake while dining (whether you sit inside or outside). The food itself was a bit of a letdown in our opinion since a lot of the pastries that we tried tasted a bit stale... Now, what really made this hotel stand out to me was the spa! During one of our more chill days in Lake Como, we spent several hours enjoying everything that the spa had to offer from lounging in the main pool to sweating in the saunas to relaxing in the variety of calming rooms. We usually don't go to spas so this was much needed, and I would highly recommend bringing a swimsuit and spending some time here during your stay! Finally, I do want to call out that when we visited at the end of May, the ferries to Menaggio from Bellagio or Varenna would stop running at around 7pm - 8pm. And since we enjoyed dinner in Bellagio / Varenna on several occasions, we ended up having to take the ferry to Cadenabbia before figuring out a way back to Menaggio from there. While there are taxis around (that we did use twice), Grand Hotel Victoria does offer a private car service which was super helpful when it was rainy or when taxis weren't readily available.

We were on a Tauck tour of Lake Como and this was the first stop of our tour. The hotel and surrounding area is beautiful. The room was very modern and new and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fabulous both days we had it. We also had dinner at Victoria Beach one night. It is part of the hotel.

Great location on Lake Como. We were welcomed a bit early, since our flight from the US delivered us to Menaggio prior to noon. After grabbing a coffee in the town square, we were given a room to catch up on the jet lag. Everyone made our stay a pleasure, from the front desk staff to the restaurant wait staff. We didn't have time to visit the spa, but others in our group raved about it. The beach club area was beautiful with a wonderful restaurant (more casual than the main hotel restaurant), and the breakfast buffet was great too (so many choices, and quite fresh). The shower was powerful and offered plenty of hot water. Just a great experience all around! Grounds are attractive, especially around the pool.

Wow. Not sure about the rest of the lake, but certainly the best place to stay in Menaggio. Beautiful property, outstanding staff, the view of the lake lives up to every image you may have seen. Whether you're on a budget & choose a smaller room or can spend more and select a suite, spend a few extra Euro and get the Lake View. You won't regret it. Also make sure you select a room option that includes breakfast - was likely the best breakfast I've EVER had. Looked forward to breakfast every morning. Last two last points: eat one dinner at the hotel restaurant (Lago). It's a bit pricey but worth it, food is divine. Daily usage of Erre Spa is included for guests and is probably the best spa facility (even not selecting a treatment) I've ever been to. I could go on for 2 pages about how modern, innovative and comprehensive it is, but best to just experience it yourself. Enjoy.

Wow wow wow! If we could give this hotel 10 stars we would! We had an issue with our Airbnb and so booked this hotel last minute and it did not disappoint! The experience is 5-star from the minute you walk through the doors. They are located within walking distance to the little town of Menaggio and the water shuttle - we took that to explore Bellagio one day. It is about an hour to drive to the hotel from the Como train station (and taxis are hard to get) and so I would recommend booking transportation in advance. The breakfast buffet is AMAZING and we loved the nightly music on the front lawn. Our favorite part was probably the spa (don't forget your swimsuit!) - it rained all day one of the days we were there and so we spent the day in the spa, which has a hot tub, cold dunk, multiple saunas, a mushroom room, a salt room, etc... simply amazing. There is also a beach club owned by the Hilton which would be lovely on a nice day, due to the weather we only had aperitif and dinner there (the food is REALLY good). Lastly I would be remiss not to tell you how amazing the staff is. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and made our stay over the top. We are already excited to go back.

Well located in the heart of Menaggio, this hotel provides convenient access to the lake como triangle. I am rounding up from four stars because of the hard product, breakfast, location and cleanliness. I will highlight that this price point the service felt a high brow, and while I felt valued as a customer there were a few awkward interactions with staff that made me feel that I was a burden on the staff. Don't set your expectations for a water view room if you're booking a standard room, the slh integration out of Hyatt into Hilton makes me Think that a one category upgrade will likely be the norm for Hilton diamonds. The grounds are immaculately manicured, and the renovation is well executed. No trip here is complete without visiting the spa area which is quite possibly one of the best I've experienced. It's important to remember that lake como is a luxury destination and a five star hotel of this caliber is certainly not a value spot. That being said the breakfast has passion fruit, smoked swordfish and an extensive cheese selection. No complimentary black truffle but I left each morning more than satisfaction with the selection.

This is not a mere hotel, this is a luxurious immersion of service, class, and appeals to the senses. This was stop number 4 of our honeymoon and my wife and I loved every minute of it. Even the fire drill that they had for the staff on our second to last day. From the moment we were checked in by Martina to the moment we checked out and I requested a Small Luxury Hotels pin, the staff and property exceeded our expectations. The hotel has a majestic essence and not only is the location prime, but so are the furnishings and grounds. The high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, excellent bar and the Victoria 'forget me not' diffuser scent (we bought it) that permeates throughout the halls and common areas make me smile as I write this. It's right across the street from the lake and there's a reason it's called Grand Hotel Victoria Concept & Spa. It's large, luxurious, and the spa is an oasis in the middle of the paradise that is called Menaggio. The property was clean and classy. In our room we were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco, a sweet treat, fruit, and a nice note signed by Marco the General Manager. I believe that our room was considered a Prestige room. It was very clean, comfortable, and had a nice view. The bathroom had nice marble flooring and 'R Collection' products. It was spacious. We loved the state-of-the-art functionality of the lights, thermostat, and curtains that only worked when our key card was inserted. Overall, we loved the room and that Chromecast worked on the TV set, so we were able to cast our photos of our trip on the screen. Next time I hope to book suite to experience a larger size and different view. We had breakfast and dinner at Lago. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was chic. Simone and Salvatore were very attentive along with the whole staff ensuring we enjoyed the ambiance, our meals, and the service. It was amazing seeing how attentive the staff was and we loved the presentation and preparation of the food. The food comes at a premium but because of the dining experience and service we had dinner there on 2 nights. This was such a wonderful and memorable experience that I look forward to returning here when it's a little warmer. We were there during the last week of the season and the staff left such an impression upon us that we want an excuse to see those that made our stay so special. I also want to fly out just use the gym. That's my excuse to use the gym, get in the pool, and stay in a suite. We bought the Victoria Forget Me Not scent and it will definitely remind us that we should return in the future. Thanks to Marco and team for making our stay magical.

I never leave reviews, but this place was so spectacular that it deserves my first ever hotel review. The hotel is beautifully located right on the water, with a gorgeous green front yard and balconies overlooking the lake. The hotel is also only steps away from cute restaurants and shopping, and has a dock for any boat trips you may book. The rooms were fantastic. We got two king rooms, one with a roll away bed. While it was a little cramped with the added bed, the rooms are huge for European standards, and the views were amazing. They were clean, comfortable, and dressed with luxurious robes and towels. The housekeeping was wonderful and friendly, and the staff even came by offering us fruit one day at our door. The standout of this property, in my opinion, is the staff. We only stayed for 3 days, but we got to know them on a first name basis by the end of our trip. They helped with luggage, dinner recommendations, and wine selections all with a smile. They clearly work so hard to make the guests feel like royalty, and it should not go unnoticed. I highly recommend Grand Hotel Victoria to anyone and I will be coming back on my next trip.

So this is where I fell in love with limoncello! I didn't ever care for it before. But I'd clearly never had the real deal. The hotel is lovely. Probably the nicest place in Menaggio. It is a quiet village. Beauty is the main draw.

Stunning hotel and location, beautiful room and grounds, incredible pool and spa, super friendly staff, perfect location. Oh and the boat ride was phenomenal. We visited other towns in Como but are so glad we picked this town and this hotel!!

Small Luxury Hotel and- well worth the designation. I have traveled all over Italy from Forestis in the Dolemites to Palermo and found nothing comparable to the service and focus on the guest equal to The Grand Hotel Victoria at Lake Como. If you can afford and are willing to pay fare, you will not be disappointed. Perfecto!

Beautiful place. We were welcomed with attentive service, chilled prosecco, and a room upgrade. The hotel is brand new with high tech amenities and room features. There are many staff always present and eager to provide assistance.

BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL!! While vacationing in Italy, my wife became very sick with COVID. We were already checked in to a Hotel in Venice and were supposed to travel to this hotel to check in the next day. I called and explained the situation. I told them my wife had COVID and we were at the hospital in Venice. At first they said they would not cancel the reservation due to their 4 day cancellation policy. I explained that I understood their policy, but under the circumstances, I felt they should make an exception; it would not be right to subject others unnecessarily while traveling and staying in their hotel. After a lengthy back and forth "discussion" about the ethics of the situation, they finally agreed to refund the points I had used to book through Hyatt. We did not travel or stay at this hotel. They ASSURED me that all I had to do was have Hyatt call and speak to the Reservation Manager and they would handle everything. Not only did they not handle everything, but for the following month they ignored Hyatt's attempts to contact them. In addition to that, they did not refund my points, and they charged my credit card on file for the amount of entire stay! I contacted Hyatt again. They finally got someone on the phone. Once Hyatt found out they charged my credit card for they stay, Hyatt took back the points. I am now in the process of disputing the charge with AMEX. The team of managers at this Hotel purposely misled me into thinking they would handle the situation. They lied just to get past the date of the stay, and then charged my credit card knowing full well what they had promised to do. This is one of the most immoral Hotels I have ever dealt with.

This has been one of the all-time best hotel experiences. The service was on point. Staff was always smiling, friendly, professional and welcoming. The renovations to this property has resulted in patrons lacking very very little. The subterranean spa is unreal; indoor pool, hot tub, Himalayan salt room, Ice room, rainforest showers! The outdoor pool was inviting! All pools were super clean and well maintained. This place is cleaner than one's home before a first-time visit from your in-laws! Breakfast each morning was included with our stay. Food was a cornucopia of hot, fresh, well-prepared cuisine that we blown away! Speaking to other guests, they were just as amazed by the breakfast fare. All staff members speak English fluently and many speak several languages. The entire town of Menaggio speaks English in every shop, every hotel and every restaurant. Lorena is the manager and she goes out of her way to make certain her guests are happy. She and her staff are true rockstars! My wife researched so many properties before booking here and finally chose the Grand Hotel Vitoria is was a gem. This place never disappointed. We will return.
