Excellent hotel in a great location on the edge of the old town, with less than a 5 minute walk to the medina. A traditionally decorated hotel which is well kept and has some amazing features. Plenty of lovely options at breakfast. Try the Moroccan tea, but it is very, very sweet. There is also free parking at the hotel. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The piano bar is a nice area for a drink at the end of a busy day. We had a great stay.

From start to finish loved my stay here had a superior room with 3 big widows facing the old town the views were amazing and the room big with bath and large bathroom comfortable king size bed and overall large room.|Breakfast included was nice and fresh and ate at the hotel the first night and the meal was exceptional. The pool was good not too cold and relaxed for a few hours around the pool. Definitely will return as Tangier has something most towns don't a bit of attitude and history. Brilliant staff printed my boarding pass and lovely every time and booked taxi back to airport for me too.

Great location for visiting the medina and other sights in Tangier. We had a lovely room that looked over the pool. Comfy bed and nice large room. |Breakfast was great, fresh fruit juice and Moroccan bread with plenty of meat, cheese and hot food.|The staff in the restaurant, reception and the porters were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived a little early but we were able to check in which was very much appreciated.

I love this hotel. It’s very homey. Younger and older staff are all extremely kind. Particularly the Staff at breakfast. Comfy bed, Charming rooms, Excellent showers, Pleasant Pool, Location is spot on. I’m always looking forward to coming back. This is my second time and there will certainly be a third one. Yes, of course it’s not a real five stars, but the price is absolutely reasonable for what you get.

I enjoyed my stay. It's a refinished classic hotel. The marble in the bath reminded me of a classic hotel in Barcelona. The rooms were well equipped and kind of cool with an art deco flair. The furniture matched and was impressive. The formal dining room was beautiful and the breakfast area was also nice. The piano bar served all sorts of alcohol, but unfortunately wasn't providing live music during my visit.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa de France and was impressed by its historic charm and stunning views of Tangier. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, blending classic style with modern amenities. The staff is attentive, and the breakfast on the terrace is a true highlight. Perfect for those seeking a blend of history and luxury in the heart of Tangier. Highly recommended

This a lovely hotel right in the heart of the old town of Tangier. 2 minutes walk to the main streets and 10 minutes walk to the port and beaches. Take away the surroundings and you could think that you are in the French riviera and that James Bond could turn up at any time. Being a five star hotel it certainly has the charm and feel to it. Having spent a week there we felt it was let down by the attention to detail in what it takes to be a five star hotel. 1. No bottled water supplied to the room. 2. Extremely cheap toilet rolls in the rooms. 3. On three occasions we had to ask for new towels as they weren't replaced after cleaning. 4. The coffee machine at breakfast was terrible as was the coffee. 5. The toaster took between ten and fifteen minutes to make your toast. 6. The breakfast offering could have been better. 7. Every morning we had to ask for a teaspoon for the coffee. 8. We only had one sachet of tea and one coffee in our room and no milk. 9. The safe in our room had battery acid leaking out of the safe door. Don't let this put you off as the hotel is probably the best around the area. The management just need to work on the little things a bit more. And yes, we would stay there again, and please get a better coffee machine and toaster.

Lovely location, the rooms and hotel are outdated although still charming. Unfortunately, the lack of service and general helpfulness by staff on a few occasions outweighed the good interactions. I found the perceived appearance of old world charm not worth the value of the hotel. The one lasting distaste I have is over the price of Grand Taxi to the airport. I enquired at the desk if it was the same return price from Tangier (150 dirhams) and he replied - no $200. I double checked with a driver the next day and he confirmed it was same return price. Upon leaving the bell boy, as we loaded the luggage into the taxi said it was $200 dirhams. Maybe it’s a cultural quirk I’m missing but just felt like although I’d paid for a relatively nice hotel I felt they were trying to squeeze every cent out of me through slyness!
