Price was reasonable when we booked, but I only had one request: a working A/C on one of the hottest days of the year. On check-in, the guest in front of me complained to the receptionist that their A/C was not working, they were then offered another room but assured them it’s all good and maybe they didn’t use it correctly. First thing I tried in the room: turned the A/C control dial down and full fan. Well. The air was smelly and only very lightly cool if at all (possibly due to the moving air). I live in Austria and I do not own an A/C, so I am used to not having one (I understand some people want it freezing cold, I don’t). That said, bedding is super nice, location nice (big street works around the entire block at this time, but I guess it’s cheaper because of it), and the shower was top. So, for that, perfect. We had to catch two large spiders in the room, but that can happen anywhere. Why they locked an arbitrary €50 on the card wasn’t super clear nor explained (“for the room”), I assume mini-bar (which we never use), but it’s one of those things: hey we don’t trust you so we charge you first and only then you get it back once we verified you didn’t take anything. Weird vibe for a hotel that prides itself on “vibe” as a concept. So, yeah, if you get this for a good price, take it, otherwise, don’t expect this to be a “I’ll pay extra and it will be extra nice” kind of stay. It’s okay, but that’s good enough most of the time.
