Grand Hotell Hörnan Hotel

Small but cozy rooms, bit cold in the winter. Very few electrical sockets, at least in my room. Heated floor in the bathroom, so that's a big plus. Certain rooms may need some minor TLC but overall the hotel has a high standard. The hotel is in the central of Uppsala and it is an old building so you will not experience complete silence. Breakfast is not a huge collection of different dishes, it is quality over quantity instead. The scrambled eggs were great. Overall very nice stay for the money you pay

We always recommend Grand Hotel Hörnan to all our friends who visit Uppsala. Lovely ambience and friendly courteous staff. The bar is especially charming place to enjoy a glass of champagne and wile away the day in style. Location is absolutely spot on, right on the river, perfect in the summer when al fresco allows. Enjoy !

I would not stay here again in summer. I had an awful experience due to the lack of air conditioning and the terrible noise from a nearby music club. Although it was only 24°C (about 75°F) outside, the thermometer inside red 28°C, about 82°F. Combined with humidity it was very unpleasant. I was not able to keep the windows open because of the noise: non-stop drumming and shouting which went on far too long. It’s a shame because the building is beautiful, and the staff is nice although somewhat distant. The breakfast is poor compared to a typical higher and Swedish hotel. There is limited parking next-door, which is not included in the price; make sure to book it in advance.||I suppose in the winter this could be a nice place to stay, but overall, I had a very unpleasant experience.

A lovely hotel in a great area in Uppsala, overlooking the river. Everything is walking distance. The hotel has a nice feel to it, very warm and welcoming. The bar is fabulous, smart and comfortable. I was in a lovely junior suite. |The rooms could do with a spruce up sometime soon, as there is a bit of chipped paint here and there. My only gripe is that the hotel didn’t provide shower caps which is annoying.

Had an exceptional experience at this hotel. Gorgeous property, small but well kept beautiful boutique hotel. Loved the fresh food selections with the included breakfast. Prime location and such stunning setting by the river. Staff were very kind and welcoming. A special shout out to Philip who crafted up a chai latte for me at the bar late in the evening. I really appreciated his extra effort and willingness to accommodate.

This is a cozy hotel, nothing "grand" or luxurious about it. The room was small but clean and functional. Breakfast was fine. The shower would have greatly benefitted from a shower door (not a half-open panel) as it was spraying all over. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is central.

Great place to stay in Uppsala. We can see the river from the room. Nice breakfast -- scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon,cold cuts, breads, herring, shrimp etc. There is an orange squeezer machine. Nice strawberry smoothie. Hot drinks are also provided. Our room is very clean and beds are very comfortable.Only tiny complaint was only get 1 package of coffee but many sugar. But no big deal as we can drink at breakfast.Love this place and highly recommend to other travellers

Firstly.. always do the homework before booking any hotels, many look superb on the pictures but when you get there and into your room that's when the story unfolds.|On the third floor room 324 opposite the lift and fire escape stairs..booked for seventeen nights for a business trip just under £2000 .. the major problem is the whole hotel is noisy.. I am situated with rooms both sides above and below me.. I am totally disappointed with the noise level from other customers slamming doors, walking about during the night, banging and sliding furniture about to listening to outbursts of clearing throats, breaking wind, serial noises.. do you get the picture now.|I complained the second night into my trip to up grade or move me to another room but it turns out the hotel is fully booked for the whole of my booking.| I will request a reduction at the end of my trip due to the dissatisfied situation it has left me in.|Everything else in this hotel is very good but please be aware before booking for a quiet hotel the staff and management are well aware of this current situation.|If the manager would like to comment and offer a solution I would be grateful to hear.

Super cute and clean hotel scandi vibe! Spacious and clean bathroom with comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Big windows with lots of natural light. Would definitely stay here again

Beautiful hotel with fantastic service!! The views of Uppsala were beautiful, and the location is great. Within walking distance of the University and right on the river. Would definitely stay there again.
