Grand Hyatt Barcelona

We chose the Grand Hyatt Barcelona to celebrate Nochevieja (New Year's Eve) with the whole family, and it was a massive success. Being part of the Amex Collection, the hotel met high expectations and provided a seamless experience from start to finish. The location is excellent, particularly the convenience of its proximity to Camp Nou, which was a nice bonus for us. The staff were incredibly helpful and genuinely nice, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The room itself was a highligh, clean, very spacious, and modern. I particularly appreciated the intuitive controls for the lights and window shades; it made the room very comfortable. Dining was excellent as well; we enjoyed the on-site restaurants, and the breakfast options were plentiful and high quality. If you are looking for a luxury stay in Barcelona that handles big occasions well, I highly recommend it.

Excellent Stay at Grand Hyatt Barcelona We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona for 6 nights and had a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is elegant, comfortable, and very well maintained, making our stay both relaxing and memorable. A special mention goes to Andrawill and Alexandra, who provided outstanding service throughout our stay. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, always going the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and well looked after. That said, the praise extends to the entire staff team everyone we interacted with was courteous, helpful, and consistently delivered a high standard of hospitality. Their warmth and professionalism really set this hotel apart. Overall, the Grand Hyatt Barcelona exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city. We would happily stay here again.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona for 7 nights in November 2025 and had a truly wonderful experience. As a World of Hyatt Globalist, I used a Suite Upgrade Award and was given a Junior Suite King, which turned out to be outstanding. The room was spacious, luxurious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean.||||The staff deserve special mention. Everyone I interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. The hotel’s location is fantastic as well, right in the heart of Barcelona, making it easy to reach major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation.||||Although the outdoor pool was closed for the winter, we thoroughly enjoyed the indoor heated pool, located in the spa area. The spa also includes a dry sauna, steam room, and additional facilities, and we visited twice because it was so relaxing.||||Breakfast was another highlight. It was varied, generous, and delicious, with a rich buffet. As a Globalist, I also received two complimentary à-la-carte dishes each morning, which was a great perk and made the experience even more enjoyable.||||I also had access to the Grand Lounge, which offered coffee and light refreshments throughout the day. From 17:00 to 19:00, they served a selection of tasty tapas, a lovely treat and a perfect way to unwind in the afternoon.||||Overall, my stay was highly positive. I would absolutely return to the Grand Hyatt Barcelona and would gladly recommend it to friends and fellow travelers.

I had an outstanding stay at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. The property is modern, elegant, and extremely well maintained. The staff consistently went above and beyond, offering warm, attentive service without being intrusive. My room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed.. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop restaurant and bar, Maymanta. The experience there is incredible. The food is creative and full of flavor, and the cocktails are top-notch. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, and the views over the city and the skyline at sunset are unforgettable. The breakfast buffet was excellent with fresh, high-quality options and great variety. The bar and lounge areas throughout the hotel had a comfortable upscale vibe, perfect for unwinding. Overall, the Grand Hyatt Barcelona delivers a luxury experience from start to finish. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

First night here and it has been a delight! We went to Sofia bar and tapas for a quick drink service 10/10! All staff you encountered is so delightful. Front desk staff was able to get us reservations to Leña within the hour of check in was such a great treat since it was our day of travel. Honeymoon treat was a plus! Did not expect it all it has been such a great experience!

Really phenomenal hotel experience! We got upgraded to a Junior Suite which had a huge, quality bathroom (big tub, giant shower, double sinks, etc). The view overlooking the city was also great. Location: 8/10: close to the airport, but about 20 min from main Barcelona attractions (Sagrada de Familia, etc). However, taxis are cheap and are always available in front of the hotel. There's also a Hop-on-Hop-Off bus (City Tour Barcelona) that picks up right in front of the hotel. Food: we're food snobs, so I was surprised that I really enjoyed the food at the hotel. We didn't try any of the on-site fancy restaurants, but we had the breakfast buffet every morning and it was SO good. Staff: All the staff were kind, accommodating, and helpful. Particularly the breakfast staff, who got us everything we needed including constant refilling of fresh OJ and espresso even while it was really busy and chaotic. Special shout-outs to Luis Daniel, one of the servers, and Raquel, who was the hostess at breakfast- they were so friendly and professional. Spa: We did the 90min spa circuit, and that was great. We went on a Monday evening and had the place entirely to ourselves. We didn't do any of the massages or other spa services because they were really expensive, but the hotel has a number of good spas within walking distance if you're looking for an alternative. All in all, 100% would stay there again, highly recommend!

Business-class hotel suitable for a 1–2 day stay. After paying the €8.25 local city tax (charged as a 5-star hotel), the rooms are just okay with basic amenities. Even a basic toothbrush requires calling room service, and they charge a €3 service fee just to bring an empty plate and spoon. In my view, a good 3 or 4 city-center hotel offers better room size, more amenities, and lower city tax.

I stayed here for four nights while attending a destination wedding — both families and dozens of guests stayed at this property, and most shared the same complaints. What should have been a joyful experience turned into a frustrating stay due to the hotel’s sheer lack of quality and care.||Restaurant – 1MPAR:|Service was consistently poor. Morning buffet food sat for hours under heat lamps, lukewarm at best and stone cold by the time it reached your plate. Staff were indifferent — no one cared if guests asked for freshly made eggs or a hot meal. During dinner, especially at a vegetarian-only event, the food was downright terrible: cold pasta, stale bread, and watery drinks. The chefs and waitstaff seemed completely disengaged, showing no pride or attention to the guests.||Hotel Room Experience:|The room was dark, poorly lit, and unwelcoming. After dusk, you could barely see enough to read or work. The bathroom emitted a nauseating stench of sewage every afternoon — a foul mix of methane and hydrogen sulfide that spread into the entire room, even when the bathroom hadn’t been used. Complaints went nowhere; housekeeping sprayed air fresheners instead of fixing the issue.||Overall Impression:|For a property carrying the Grand Hyatt name, this was an embarrassment. Between the indifferent staff, awful food, lack of cleanliness, and sewer odors, the experience was closer to a rundown motel than a luxury hotel. The management’s apathy during a large wedding group stay was especially disappointing.||Verdict:|A five-star brand delivering one-star performance. Would never stay here again — and would strongly advise future guests to look elsewhere.

This s now the "Grand Hyatt Barcelona" - see my review there. Essentially, lovely hotel with few, if any issues. Appreciated proximity to Camp Nou stadium and the quiet neighborhood.

Supposed to be a 5 star hotel but the pool was closed for refurbishment, and the internet was so slow it was barely useable. Got the operations people to come reset the WiFi and it was still at small speed. We were offered a spa option but the spa opening hours were not great for business travellers as it was only open from 1 or 2pm onwards. The rooms were very nice, but the unusable WiFi means I probably won't return again.

One of the best hotels we stayed for a family vacation. From the amazing breakfast and employees! Kudos to Anna for taking care of us during our stay! Highly recommended

The pictures on their website had promises of a well designed hotel. The lobby is gorgeous, the restaurants and amenity areas are beautiful. The room itself had an elevated minimalism aesthetic. These are all very wonderful until upkeep and maintenance is ignored. The comments in photos below tell you almost everything. What it doesn't convey is how thin the walls are and how noise travels easily from the halls and through the windows. We asked to be moved to another room and awaiting their response. Update: I originally gave a 1 star rating however after the staff resolved the situation and I have revised it to 4 stars. The staff moved us to another room and the team was very apologetic. Our new room is much quieter and the walls, mirror and other features are secured tightly in place. There are still touch ups required here and there but we're happy it's not the original room and that they were quick to resolve the matter. If they give you room 608, turn right around and ask for another.

Stayed here 3 mights end of Aug 2022 and wish we only had stayed 1 instead. The location is not ideal because it's quite far from town center and most of the tourist attractions and it's about 10 min walk to the closest metro station which is a bit brutal in summer time, especially you enjoy the siesta back in the room before going out on a venture again late at night. Or unless you just take taxi and don't want to deal with the sticky sweat. We felt the reception staff were a bit on the COLD side. They didn't really greet us when we were in and out the lobby. Felt like they just ignored us by turning their heads around or pretended to stare at the computer... We were upgraded to a very nice suite and the complimentary buffet breakfast was really great and staff friendly though. Endless food options and I appreciate the salad bars. Though some reported they have not been very consistent honoring Hyatt Globalist benefits... If you like the soccer game, the stadium is just a short walk away. The spa area is _not complimentary. I believe they were asking for 39 euro pp to use the facility at the time. Meh.

Nice hotel , excellent welcome gesture .. Great place to stay in.. Very clean room.. I would say I was happy to stay here ... Will surely recommend other guests to stay in this place..Quite near to all the public transport service..

I have stayed here several times on business most recently this June. This is a very nice, clean hotel with great air conditioning (you will need in Barcelona trust me). The breakfast is top notch with all kinds of food. The hotel is a very short walk to the metro and to lots of shopping and restaurants. It is a Hyatt property so you know the quality will be high.

If you are considering a stay at this amazing hotel, don't think twice! This Descartes influenced hotel is both luxurious and comfortable. We arrived around 10:30am after a long international flight and the staff checked us into a room early! The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. Philolosofia is an adorable coffee shop in the hotel with delicious food and drinks. The cafeteria had an excellent breakfast.

I came here for lunch at their Impar restaurant, the lobby of the hotel was modern and gorgeous. I had a weekday lunch menu, with a burrata starter and gnocchi main course and a glass of wine included. Definitely high quality cooking although not as creative as I had expected given the price (my dessert a deconstructed tiramisu was creative, however). It has a lovely atmosphere and service and I will definitely return. The coffee shop with it's library motif had also an excellent casual atmosphere.

Wow. What a wonderful place. Every aspecy . Only thing they need to cha get is to keep the pool open 24/7 or at least until midnight.

This is an amazing hotel! The customer service is a 5 Star . The rooms are beautiful and they also give you a tour of the room amenities. The room service is outstanding. I have traveled to beautiful places and hotels but never anything like this!

Stayed at the Sofia while visiting Barcelona. Service was excellent, and the hotel was very modern and welcoming. The staff was extremely pleasant, and helpful. Also, the were very knowledgeable regarding places to eat, and things to see and do. I would highly recommend the Sofia Hotel to my friends and family if visiting Barcelona. The location of the hotel is pretty centralized, and not far from anything you may be looking to encounter while visiting. The hop on, hop off tour bus picks up on the corner of the hotel, and taxis are always available on the premises of the hotel. They have breakfast daily, and their are a couple restaurants to choose from if you don't want to leave the hotel. There's a beautiful bar, with great bartenders to satisfy your every need when looking for a great alcohol beverage. All I can say is, if in Barcelona the Sofia hotel is a great place to stay, five star all the way! I will be coming back.

I am a Hyatt member, and stumbled upon this gem of a hotel. It is located in the business district, which may only be the only downside if you are looking to stay near all the action. From the moment you enter this hotel, you feel like you arrived home. The staff is unsurpassed, from the doormen, to the reception desk, and the incredible concierge. Special shout out to Matthew and Christian for going the extra mile. All their guidance, and recommendations helped make this visit extra special. Another added bonus, is the spa. You are invited to use the facilities at no cost, for one day. What a nice touch. The restaurants are also superior. Be So might have been one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Nico, the sommelier, not only gave us a fabulous wine tasting, but an education as well. The chef prepares the food with love. Can't wait to return to my new home away from home!!!
