After reading other reviews I was expecting a property past its prime. I was wrong! We loved our stay at Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. From the moment we checked in we were completely taken care of. The Grand Club breakfast was a highlight. Our suite was huge and spotless.||||Service was above and beyond. Xavier the concierge actually walked with us to the convenience store to help us buy baseball tickets. Our son has a food allergy and the food and beverage staff went through every item in the club to make we knew what was safe for him to eat.||||Overall, a wonderful stay!

This was my second stay since February 2025. We really appreciate the location of the hotel and proximity to the airport as wel as the train station.||Its location right next door to Nakasu Yatai and connected to the Canal City Shopping center was beyond convenient. The breakfast offered at the club lounge is one of the best in the hyatt system. I dont know why or how come but the coffee was great, better tthen Hyatt Park Tokyo, and Park Kyoto and for rooms that start at $1000 per night and above that's saying alot. The rooms were large, clean, and everything was functional, All the staff provided great service and were most accomondating including front desk, club lounge service staff, the concirege helped with suggestions and dinner reservations, as well as the front door staff assisting with arriving and departing by taxi and luggage help. I love visiting Fukuoka and tthe Hospitality of the Residents and Truly enjoy stayinng at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. The property offers great value for your dollar- is very reasonably priced for the level of property, rooms, and service received. I would happily return and stay at this hotel. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Already planning on returning later this year with my grown kids and their spouses.

Great location and excellent staff! We had to rush our check-in because our rental shop was about to close, but the staff was quick and efficient, helping us check in and making sure our bag made it to the room. To our surprise, a bag we had sent a few days earlier was already waiting for us in the room—such a nice touch! The lobby staff also let us park our rental at the front while we checked in, which saved us the hassle of looking for temporary parking. We only stayed one night, but it was a good one!

The BEST service I have ever had at a hotel. The staff and hotel managers are great and so respectful of the guests. The hotel is in a great location as well, and the food at the lounge is spectacular. I strongly recommend visiting here if anyone is thinking about it. I cannot wait to take the rest of my family back here because I had such a great experience.

Good: Sauna area, very nice! Very quiet and peaceful canal view. Average:Breakfast. It’s fine, but not extraordinary The location - not super convenient, need 5 mins walk to metro station. Although it’s next to canal city mall, there are limited shops choices.. and no supermarkets

Definitely the best The Ritz-Carlton hotel I had stayed unlike the usual old grandeur style. The Ritz‑Carlton, Fukuoka is newly opened on 21 June 2023 and is Kyushu’s first Ritz‑Carlton, occupying the top nine floors of a stunning 25‑storey glass towerStayed at the Deluxe Suite (75 m²) this trip which is very spacious, comprising of a king‑bed bedroom and a separate living room perched on a quiet corner The bathroom is another highlight with a sculpted free‑standing tub, rainfall shower, and dual sinks carved from luxurious Mont Carmelo granite—each detail framed by sweeping cityscape views and natural sunlight pouring in. Throughout the suite, refined touches include natural woods, artful Hakata‑ori textile accents, and ambient lighting—creating a serene atmosphere that pays homage to local crafts

I have always been a regular guest of Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. The Front Reception has always been cordial in their check in procedures. The feeling of warmth and welcome have always been there until today. When I encountered the most pugnacious and repugnant Restaurant Manager- Takamasa Ueno who was harassing me by following closely behind me after I decided to use the bathroom on the third floor as the toilet at the lobby was filled with immense crowds and screeching children which severely aggravated my hypertension and anxiety attack. My heart was pounding irregularly and without my medication, I was afraid I might collapse again. Instead of empathising with my situation; he started following behind me while at the same time continuously bickering about me using the toilet on the other floors. I apologised and made my way to the restaurant; but he was still irascible and got his staffs to give me a hard time while still giving me his contemptuous glare. After ten minutes of deliberately trying to antagonise me, I confronted him and brought it up to the front desk but apart from the nice girl; the other two men remained stoically quiet and Impertinent.||So much for the Grand Hyatt International chain of hospitality! What a bunch of disgraceful staffs. A total Embarrassment and Liability to the Hospitality Industry! ||No apologies, no explanation whatsoever just stoic disrespect! Disgusting indeed. They seriously need to go back to the drawing board of what hospitality is all about! For what it was worth: Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish!

As a Hyatt Globalist member, I was disappointed that my room was not upgraded, and I was not allowed to have breakfast in the main restaurant. The most serious issue was that the room was extremely hot and stuffy, with the air conditioning being severely inadequate. During the evening peak hours, the temperature in the room would rise sharply, making it very uncomfortable to stay in. On the positive side, the newly renovated club lounge was quite nice. There was sashimi available and the overall quality of the food was good. However, the shortcomings with the room and breakfast arrangement really affected my stay. I hope the hotel can improve the air conditioning system and room upgrade arrangements for loyal members in the future, as these are important factors for guest satisfaction. While I appreciated the improvements in the lounge, I believe that basic comfort and member benefits should always be prioritized. Overall, I had mixed feelings about this stay, with both positive and negative aspects.

Yelp
Perfect location next to Canal City for shops and restaurants. Also a good location for taxi drop offs. There are a bunch of Yatai stalls. My friend told me about it and to go by 5 pm. Sure enough we couldn't even get a stool to sit on by 6 pm when they supposedly open.

Yelp
Great location. Excellent service. Family Mart located right across the street. 5 min walk to the Yatai Stalls.

Yelp
Really disappointed with this experience as I expected a lot more from the Hyatt brand. Older rooms, saturated with old smoke even though it was non-smoking, and a puzzling policy that prevents hotel guests from sitting anywhere in the lobby table area. They also seemed very unfriendly to foreigners. You can probably get a better lodging experience elsewhere in the city.

Yelp
Staffs are good and friendly. However two major issues. Under hot weather, AC in room is not very good. It takes forever to make my room cool. Secondly, i have been spending hundreds of times staying in hotels globally. However this is the first hotel where they asked us to make reservation to use pool. Wtf? Making reservation to use pool???? Are u fucking kidding me? Dont go here if you want to spend time with your kids or family. This is definitely not a kid friendly hotel or if you want to have good swimming time in hot steaming weather, go elsewhere!

Yelp
This grand hyatt is definitely one of the best hotel I've experienced in Japan. Yes, this grand hyatt is old, the decor is old, and definitely needs an updated. But it is very centrally located in Fukuoka City. It's literally right inside the Canal City shopping mall. It's walking distance to hakata station and to Nakasu, which all the Yatai are located at. We had an amazing stay here mainly because of the helpful staffs. They helped to hold on to our luggages while we took some side trips in Kyushu region. The concierge staff was very helpful professional. Prior to the trip I was able to contact concierge to help make a few restaurant reservations. I asked for an omakase sushi restaurant and it was a great recommendation. Upon arrival I was greeted by her and she handed me an envelop with all the reservation details, maps printed out for the taxi driver. It was the first time I felt so well treated. I was going to be late to one of the reservation, the concierge was able to help make a call for me to help push back the reservation slightly.

Yelp
This is still my favorite hotel in Fukuoka. Just look at my pics and you will understand why I love this hotel. I arrived here when a Typhoon was approaching Kyushu from the south. I landed in a heavy rain down pour. Please read my previous reviews because I have been here at least ten or more times. My room 1112 cost me 16,200 yen, which was a little more than usual. Under 15,000 yen is a good price for this hotel.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Hyatt property. It was probably my favorite hotel we stayed in of the 4 we visited on this last trip to Japan. The hotel rooms are huge, but by Japanese standards the rooms are absolutely cavernous. It's located in Canal City, which is a popular shopping district. If you're coming in by plane or rail you'll probably end up at Hakata station. It's an easy 10 minute walk from there. The location is super convenient. You can walk to a ton of bars and restaurants. Check in was easy. I don't speak a lot of Japanese, but the front desk people spoke perfect English. They gave us a high room with a great view of the city - especially at night when everything is lit up. With globalist status, we generally take advantage of the late checkout but it was nice that it was offered to us proactively. The amenities kits in the room were nice. They also left us some complimentary sweets. 10/10 would stay here again next time we're in Fukuoka.

Yelp
I like the location of this hotel. I've stayed here about a half dozen time in the past 10 years or so, and I seem to keep coming back, so I must like this hotel. Location is good, it was about 700 yen taxi ride from the Hakata station. Staff is always available to assist you with your luggage and check in upon arrival. All the staff I encountered spoke good English. Room - I regret I didn't upgrade this time around. The basic room I got was pretty small (perhaps large enough for Japanese standard). Poor design of the room made it not so convenient to do anything. Desk I had in my room was tiny, made it difficult to have enough space for my laptop and anything else I needed for work. Electric outlet was limited. Only found two by the desk. It would have been nice if they have outlet or USB charger by the bed side. The kettle and coffee was inside the cupboard. It was so tiny, I tried to use it but it was difficult. If I had more space at the desk, I would have used my desk area but the desk was occupied with my laptop. Bed was okay. Not too hard like many other Japanese hotels. Shower was spacious. I really liked the roominess of shower. The shower head was set as low, I am not that tall, only 5'6" so iI was fine but it would have been nice if the shower head was installed at higher place. They do have TV in the bathroom but the angle of it was sort of strange, not sure how you were supposed to use it. Counter space in the bathroom was limited. More I think of it, this hotel is probably designed to accommodate tourists than business travelers, then it makes sense the way things are set up in the room. During my stay, I had a chance to eat breakfast at the fifth floor Japanese restaurant. Everything tasted so good, I enjoyed it. It was just rice and soup was so hot, I had to ask for ice cube to add to my soup and porridge. I was thinking there is no silly law suites here so they can serve food so hot and wont get in trouble. I wasn't used to such a temperature hot dish. Hotel is next to the canel city shopping mall. They had very nice Christmas illumination, I enjoyed strolling outside to enjoy the lights. Although I didn't get a chance to use the gym as I couldn't wake up early enough, I went to check it out anyway. It is free for registered guests. They only prefer if you bring gym shoes only used inside. If your shoes are bit dirty, they do have plenty of shoes and socks to use. Plenty of equipment, clean gym, I would have definitely enjoyed getting exercise done here. Since we tend to consolidate and reduce luggage for any business trip, this hotel is ideal as they have renal shoes (free) and socks. If I get a chance to come back to Fukuoka, I will remember to upgrade my room to fully enjoy what this hotel can offer.

Yelp
Pretty nice hotel. The location is also pretty good. You can access a shopping center really really easily from there. It's also very close from tenjin so good bars and restaurants are at walking distance. Rooms are nice and clean.

Yelp
This is your typical park height. Room and service at a very high level. What was unusual it that it attached to a shopping mail. Park Hyatt hotels are of a consistent high standard and this was no exception. It was about 5 minutes by taxi from the train station and 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. We only stayed here one night so I don't have lot to compare. As we were going out for dinner we arrange to have the luguge collected at 5:15 am and a taxi to the airport not long after. When we returned from dinner there was a note explaining the arrangements we had made. The bathroom had a seperate shower very unusual for Japan. If I go to Fukuoka again I would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Windows that could open but are locked. I was told it is for my safety. Air conditioning that reeks of mold. How safe is it to breath mold spores? You can't afford windows that don't open far enough to keep people from throwing stuff out so you poison their lungs? Thanks Grand Hyatt. I am changing hotels.
