Wow. That is a Bottom Line Up Front statement from a Lifetime Globalist that sums it up for the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. It was convenient to take the subway via the Nanakuma line to my venue for the week, and the Grand Club was a tranquil oasis to get work done. The entire property was fantastic (especially the rooms), and the connected mall had a water show that rivaled the Bellagio Water Show as well as hosted a myriad of convenient cafes and dining establishments. Ironically, it was my subsequent stay at the Hyatt Regency Yokohama that reminded me to call out the concierge service at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka. The Team Leader at the club level at the Yokohama property, Kayo, had been a concierge at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka for several years, and it was wonderful to reminisce together. Along that vein, Ayum, the concierge at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka was excellent. Thapa (Front Service) was exceptional. Kensei, the Assistant Manager F&B, as well as the Grand Club staff have my gratitude for outstanding service for the week, and the entire club level staff has my thanks. This was a phenomenal stay.

Huge rooms with comfy beds and gigantic bathroom, attached to a mall with great sporting brands and good mixture of f&b outlets. The subway station to bring you to Hakata is around 2-3 minutes away from the corner of the mall but the city is small and you can walk from hotel to Tenjin easily. ||Outside the hotel is the river promenade where you can eat at one of the many Yatai stores this city is famous for. ||This hotel is definitely grand, and only one of two Grand Hyatts in Japan so expect the typical huge lobby with the grand circular staircase and lots of marble. I arrived after 3 PM and was able to get my room quickly - I redeemed a free night certificate, and the only available room was a twin-bedded room and it was huge. The closet definitely reminds you that this hotel is probably at least 10 years old with its wooden design, but I was very impressed with how well maintain the general conditions were. The gigantic bathroom was spotless and silicon seal around the wall and edges were not mouldy at all, except for a small patch near the main sink. Amenities were typical Grand Hyatt standard, though there wasn’t any herbal tea provided in the pantry, but you can call them for Rosebud tea.

The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you like shopping. Right behind the hotel, there’s a shopping mall ( Canal City ) with a variety of stores and restaurants. The mall also has fountain shows which I found very fun to watch. You can easily walk to it without needing to worry about transportation. The room itself was spacious and luxurious, definitely worth the price. The bed was super comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a busy day. The hotel even provided cozy pajamas, which added to the comfort. The food in the Grand Club was also amazing. They had a wide variety of food and they promptly restocked the dishes when they saw that the plate was empty. The service at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka was exceptional as well. The staff were extremely kind and always available to help. Whenever I asked for something, it was delivered quickly, and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. It was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would definitely stay there again!

Google
Excellent hotel with highly responsive service. The hotel decor and rooms are well maintained. The hotel is at canal city which appears to be a popular shopping mall which puts on Bellagio-esque water shows with music.||||The club floor is well maintained with good food options, worth the price. The only minor downside its location is not as convenient as some other venues.

Google
Grand Hyatt Fukuoka is in a fantastic location, directly connected to Canal City, which is especially convenient when traveling with elderly family members or kids. Another great feature is the hotel's breakfast option. The check-in counter, luggage service, and concierge were all very helpful, making our stay smooth and hassle-free. However, the hotel rooms feel quite outdated. The furniture is old, and in our room, the chair was nearly broken, with its leather peeling off in pieces. Despite this, the room size is very spacious compared to other hotels in Japan—we had enough space to open our luggage comfortably. Overall, it’s a good place to stay, especially for families with children, but an update to the room interiors would make the experience even better.

Hotel is at an excellent location, right beside Canal City Mall. Mall does not have a supermarket but it is also walking distance from MaxValu (AEON supermarket) and right in front is a Family Mart. It is also a short distance from a subway station which also connects to Hakat Station. It is a 15-20 minute drive from the airport.||||Breakfast selection is not overflowing but quality of each dish is superb.||||Room is a but dated but bigger than what you would expect from a typical Japanese hotel. Overall, the room with a queen bed should be comfortable enough especially if you will be out all day. I just hoped they have more English channels on their local cable TV.||||I reached out by cold email to their reservations and was accommodated by Wakako Sakata, who is a godsend! She was very accommodating and was attentive to all our (varying) needs--since we were in a group. She thought of everything for us and was just an absolute delight.

Google
The hotel's lovely staff who made our stay felt really welcoming. The room is very large for Japanese standard ad well equipped with good shower and bathtub. The location is really convenient for nightly fountain light shows, shopping and Ramen Stadium at the Canal City Hakata Shopping Complex. Location is great and is within walking distance to the Hataka station.

Google
Great location and the hotel staff were really friendly. Recommend the breakfast buffet We were there only one night so didn’t get a chance to check out the rest of the amenities. But the corridor to the rooms and the rooms themselves were a bit outdated. I can see how this would have been a really nice place 15-20 years earlier but needs a bit of a revamp. That said, again great location and you can walk to some nice restaurants nearby.

Yelp
Perfect location next to Canal City for shops and restaurants. Also a good location for taxi drop offs. There are a bunch of Yatai stalls. My friend told me about it and to go by 5 pm. Sure enough we couldn't even get a stool to sit on by 6 pm when they supposedly open.

Yelp
Great location. Excellent service. Family Mart located right across the street. 5 min walk to the Yatai Stalls.

Yelp
Really disappointed with this experience as I expected a lot more from the Hyatt brand. Older rooms, saturated with old smoke even though it was non-smoking, and a puzzling policy that prevents hotel guests from sitting anywhere in the lobby table area. They also seemed very unfriendly to foreigners. You can probably get a better lodging experience elsewhere in the city.

Yelp
Staffs are good and friendly. However two major issues. Under hot weather, AC in room is not very good. It takes forever to make my room cool. Secondly, i have been spending hundreds of times staying in hotels globally. However this is the first hotel where they asked us to make reservation to use pool. Wtf? Making reservation to use pool???? Are u fucking kidding me? Dont go here if you want to spend time with your kids or family. This is definitely not a kid friendly hotel or if you want to have good swimming time in hot steaming weather, go elsewhere!

Yelp
This grand hyatt is definitely one of the best hotel I've experienced in Japan. Yes, this grand hyatt is old, the decor is old, and definitely needs an updated. But it is very centrally located in Fukuoka City. It's literally right inside the Canal City shopping mall. It's walking distance to hakata station and to Nakasu, which all the Yatai are located at. We had an amazing stay here mainly because of the helpful staffs. They helped to hold on to our luggages while we took some side trips in Kyushu region. The concierge staff was very helpful professional. Prior to the trip I was able to contact concierge to help make a few restaurant reservations. I asked for an omakase sushi restaurant and it was a great recommendation. Upon arrival I was greeted by her and she handed me an envelop with all the reservation details, maps printed out for the taxi driver. It was the first time I felt so well treated. I was going to be late to one of the reservation, the concierge was able to help make a call for me to help push back the reservation slightly.

Yelp
This is still my favorite hotel in Fukuoka. Just look at my pics and you will understand why I love this hotel. I arrived here when a Typhoon was approaching Kyushu from the south. I landed in a heavy rain down pour. Please read my previous reviews because I have been here at least ten or more times. My room 1112 cost me 16,200 yen, which was a little more than usual. Under 15,000 yen is a good price for this hotel.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Hyatt property. It was probably my favorite hotel we stayed in of the 4 we visited on this last trip to Japan. The hotel rooms are huge, but by Japanese standards the rooms are absolutely cavernous. It's located in Canal City, which is a popular shopping district. If you're coming in by plane or rail you'll probably end up at Hakata station. It's an easy 10 minute walk from there. The location is super convenient. You can walk to a ton of bars and restaurants. Check in was easy. I don't speak a lot of Japanese, but the front desk people spoke perfect English. They gave us a high room with a great view of the city - especially at night when everything is lit up. With globalist status, we generally take advantage of the late checkout but it was nice that it was offered to us proactively. The amenities kits in the room were nice. They also left us some complimentary sweets. 10/10 would stay here again next time we're in Fukuoka.

Yelp
I like the location of this hotel. I've stayed here about a half dozen time in the past 10 years or so, and I seem to keep coming back, so I must like this hotel. Location is good, it was about 700 yen taxi ride from the Hakata station. Staff is always available to assist you with your luggage and check in upon arrival. All the staff I encountered spoke good English. Room - I regret I didn't upgrade this time around. The basic room I got was pretty small (perhaps large enough for Japanese standard). Poor design of the room made it not so convenient to do anything. Desk I had in my room was tiny, made it difficult to have enough space for my laptop and anything else I needed for work. Electric outlet was limited. Only found two by the desk. It would have been nice if they have outlet or USB charger by the bed side. The kettle and coffee was inside the cupboard. It was so tiny, I tried to use it but it was difficult. If I had more space at the desk, I would have used my desk area but the desk was occupied with my laptop. Bed was okay. Not too hard like many other Japanese hotels. Shower was spacious. I really liked the roominess of shower. The shower head was set as low, I am not that tall, only 5'6" so iI was fine but it would have been nice if the shower head was installed at higher place. They do have TV in the bathroom but the angle of it was sort of strange, not sure how you were supposed to use it. Counter space in the bathroom was limited. More I think of it, this hotel is probably designed to accommodate tourists than business travelers, then it makes sense the way things are set up in the room. During my stay, I had a chance to eat breakfast at the fifth floor Japanese restaurant. Everything tasted so good, I enjoyed it. It was just rice and soup was so hot, I had to ask for ice cube to add to my soup and porridge. I was thinking there is no silly law suites here so they can serve food so hot and wont get in trouble. I wasn't used to such a temperature hot dish. Hotel is next to the canel city shopping mall. They had very nice Christmas illumination, I enjoyed strolling outside to enjoy the lights. Although I didn't get a chance to use the gym as I couldn't wake up early enough, I went to check it out anyway. It is free for registered guests. They only prefer if you bring gym shoes only used inside. If your shoes are bit dirty, they do have plenty of shoes and socks to use. Plenty of equipment, clean gym, I would have definitely enjoyed getting exercise done here. Since we tend to consolidate and reduce luggage for any business trip, this hotel is ideal as they have renal shoes (free) and socks. If I get a chance to come back to Fukuoka, I will remember to upgrade my room to fully enjoy what this hotel can offer.

Yelp
Pretty nice hotel. The location is also pretty good. You can access a shopping center really really easily from there. It's also very close from tenjin so good bars and restaurants are at walking distance. Rooms are nice and clean.

Yelp
This is your typical park height. Room and service at a very high level. What was unusual it that it attached to a shopping mail. Park Hyatt hotels are of a consistent high standard and this was no exception. It was about 5 minutes by taxi from the train station and 10 minutes from the airport by taxi. We only stayed here one night so I don't have lot to compare. As we were going out for dinner we arrange to have the luguge collected at 5:15 am and a taxi to the airport not long after. When we returned from dinner there was a note explaining the arrangements we had made. The bathroom had a seperate shower very unusual for Japan. If I go to Fukuoka again I would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Windows that could open but are locked. I was told it is for my safety. Air conditioning that reeks of mold. How safe is it to breath mold spores? You can't afford windows that don't open far enough to keep people from throwing stuff out so you poison their lungs? Thanks Grand Hyatt. I am changing hotels.
