"Jakarta is an exotic place, to be sure, and many of its hotels are heavy on showmanship. But Jakarta is also the capital of Indonesia, a vast nation, and an important player in the global economy. As such, it needs a few no-nonsense business hotels, of which the Grand Hyatt is king. Fears of a bland and homogeneous hotel experience prove baseless, however; the Grand Hyatt is up to the standards of the best business hotels in any major city. The look is perhaps a bit less modern than that of the latest business hotels, incorporating traditional Indonesian materials and craftmanship. But this is no museum — every modern amenity is accounted for, from the electronic controls that run the 428 rooms and suites to the 24-hour business center and extensive conference facilities. The fitness/leisure center is beyond comprehensive, with an outdoor lagoon swimming pool that has to be seen to be believed, and several outdoor tennis courts - all right in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world. We recommend a drink on the terrace at sunset to the sound of the call to prayer from nearby mosques. Those of you being called will have better things to do, but others will also be touched by the multitude of voices calling it the end of a long and hot day. In fact everything one could wish for is on-site, or close at hand; the location is central, adjacent to the Plaza Indonesia (prime shopping territory) and close to a number of government offices and cultural institutions. For reasons I will not detail here I had an unexpected stay at this Hotel. It was absolutely delightful. Yes, this very handsome hotel is in a great location with terrific facilities but what really makes it stand out from the pack is the wonderful team of people that work there. From those that greet you as you arrive to those that check you in, to those that are responsible for making the room sparkle its people that make staying at hotel a fabulous experience and these people get it and do a wonderful job. I must make special mention of front office Assistant Manager Kezya, what a star and ambassador for Hyatt Group, their brand is in safe hands with her and the team.

I try to come here every year, and every year it’s a horrific experience with the most incompetent staff of any hotel in Jakarta. I arrived at 4pm and the room was still not ready. As a Hyatt globalist, the absolute bare minimum I expect is that my room will be ready by the specified check in time of 3pm. The hotel was not even close to full occupancy, so there is no excuse. They told me I could wait in the lounge for the room to be ready, where I could also have something to eat and drink. I went to the lounge and there were no staff working there (it requires keycard access to enter). Finally, I found staff who called other staff who opened the door. It turns out there is nothing to eat or drink there and they had lied to me at check in. Literally before even getting into a room, these staff made this stay a terrible experience. The hotel is also incredibly musty and moldy, so there is not a single redeeming quality to the hotel or experience, despite being extremely overpriced. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

From the moment we landed until check out everything was perfect. Warm hospitality, fun kid activities, and a truly wonderful stay. Bonus points the hotel is connected to Plaza Indonesia for super easy shopping, and it’s just walking distance to Thamrin City. And special kudos to Eve from Club Olympus for pampering me during the spa massage - felt like a princess! Truly unforgettable. Definitely 5 star experience!

Overall pleasant experience. Central location connected to Plaza Indonesia. Special thanks to Millencia (at the Grand Lounge) - she was very attentive and was top notch in terms of understanding the needs of the customer, especially as a Hyatt Globalist. Thank you! Good airport pickup service as well - they provided portable WiFi on the road, which was a nice touch. Hyatt Globalists can access the Grand Lounge, which serves average food. Rooms are spacious.

Great hotel, right in the heart of Jakarta. Fantastic garden with a number of outdoor swimming pools so you can "touch" country's nature. Extremely rich and diverse breakfast for everyone's taste - local, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, etc. Live band was playing every night in the cafe bar area, artists from St. Lucia and South Africa are extremely good and have produced wonderful shows every evening. One thing that was annoying - sauna was not in operation and all sorts of hotel employees and maintenance staff were hanging around in the spa area without any purpose.

This is my go to hotel when staying in Jakarta for many reasons such as the location is unbeatable, the rooms are very comfortable and the food across the restaurants here is of a really high standard. However the main reason other hotels in Jakarta can't tempt me away from the Grand Hyatt is because of the level of service offered here. I always feel so welcomed and taken care of here, there above and beyond service strategy wins my heart over every single time and keeps me loyal to the brand. Can't beat that!

This is a gorgeous hotel! The room was comfortable, the bedding and pillows were nice, and the hotel staff was wonderful and helpful. I loved the included breakfast: they had a lot of options, fresh fruit, pastries, and fresh egg dishes. Who can say no to a matcha donut? 🤤 It was the perfect way to start every day. Everything about the hotel it is great; I have zero complaints. The location is also nice if you want to be close to options for shopping. I'd happily stay here again!

The Grand Hyatt Jakarta is a large oasis amid a very busy city. The design of the hotel is certainly generous with large, ample spaces and facilites. The service here simply outstanding!||||For the solo traveller, the hotel offers substantial convenience. It is directly across the MRT and is connected to the Plaza Indonesia Mall with a pletora of shopping and food choices. ||||I've always chosen to stay in Hyatt properties as the quality have always been consistent and familiar to me wherever I go. The Grand Hyatt Jakarta certainly lives up to the brand expectation with ease. I look forward to be back again very, very soon!
