What to Eat in Xi'an, China

"A recently opened luxury hotel in Xi'an's Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone offering ultra-modern, Silk Road–inspired interiors and a calm oasis-like atmosphere amid the bustling city. The property houses five on-site restaurants, convenient walking access to nearby parks, and spacious rooms (the reviewer stayed in a grand deluxe king with floor-to-ceiling windows, an alcove sitting/dining area, and a deep bathtub with city views). It's especially notable for an extensive international breakfast buffet—steamed buns, spicy noodles, tamago, grilled fish and more—that the reviewer calls a highlight after long travel days." - Danica Lo

Grand Hyatt Xi’an (Xi'an, Shanxi Province) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In China, it’s already the future; here an eminently palatable mainstream luxury hotel can boast the kind of daring contemporary architecture and design that Westerners expect to see reserved for art museums. The Grand Hyatt Xi’an occupies the lower floors of the Maike Centre Hotel Tower, which is adjoined to the neighboring Maike Centre Office Tower by a distinctive skybridge — meaning many business guests never have to venture outside. The comforts, the services, and the facilities all do their level best to keep up with the cutting-edge aesthetics, and the result is one of the finest contemporary luxury hotels in the world." - Tablet Hotels

The Hotel is excellent. Modern and extremely well-designed. It has an excellent breakfast and spacious room and relatively big bathroom. It has also a very good gym, good equipments and water and towels at our disposal. As a negative point, we had an issue with the air-conditioner that, despite our complaint, was not solved. In general, I recommend the hotel since it is very comfortable and spacious.

One of the best Hyatt properties i have ever stayed! Super friendly staff and very cool hyatt lounge and club. The hotel is well maintained and family suite is spacious. there is actually a outside paito on the 25th floor, super cool! Will definately come back again in the future.

I have selected a hotel from the reviews, which has many excellent reviews. I was surprised when I encountered the service of this hotel. The manager here always lies. Firstly, they gave us the room that we haven’t chosen. We were informed that they had upgraded, but the room they provided was very uncomfortable. When we said we didn't want these improvements and wanted a room that we had initially booked, we were told that all the rooms were occupied and we would have to stay in the only remaining room. After about an hour of arguments and hearing the manager's lies, we obtained the number we originally booked. The attitude of the management was horrible. During the conversation, I was often interrupted and completely ignored. I had to shout loudly in order to get the room I bought. Only after this they gave it to us. This is completely unacceptable. To make up for the wasted time, they propose to us a car to go to the airport. We agree. And after that they forgot about it!!! We were almost late to our flight and called to us the cheapest didi. If I knew, I would order a car by myself, but we were run out of a time. Everything was completely horrible.

The room is located on a lower floor. The concierge department is polite. The front desk is not very welcoming and slightly cold. The corner room does not have any views but some bungalows and a building under construction. Overall recommendation 3 out of 5 If you are going to visit Xi'an, there are better options.

Grand Hyatt Xi’an is an architectural masterpiece, blending modern elegance with grand, spacious design. From the moment I arrived, I was in awe of the stunning arches, vast open spaces, and sleek contemporary style—it’s truly one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at! I had the pleasure of staying in the Grand Suite King Deluxe (Suite 3005 on the 30th floor), and it was absolutely amazing. The suite was incredibly spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing breathtaking views of the modern cityscape. The bathroom was impeccable, featuring an oval bathtub with stunning views—a perfect spot to unwind. For dining, Allegro was a great experience—an Italian restaurant in the sky, offering delicious food and cocktails with a view. The Grand Club was also a highlight, providing a private and exclusive space for cocktail hour and relaxation. The Grand Café, the main restaurant for breakfast, was spacious with an impressive variety of options, making for a great start to the day. The gym was massive and well-equipped, perfect for a proper workout. While the pool was a bit small, the spa and sauna area made up for it with a relaxing ambiance. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way—from the breathtaking design to the luxurious accommodations and excellent dining. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Xi’an!

The swimming pool was out of service and it was the main reason why we booked this hotel (and they didn’t advised us prior our arrival). No one speaks English, we couldn’t even order a glass of water at dinner (where everyone was looking at us like weird creatures) The room was dirty, the duvet had some nail polish on and the bathroom sink was not draining correctly. We don’t recommend this hotel AT ALL. (Also far away from everything)

Very bad security! Criminals are working at lobby in the night 1) at about 11pm, May 9 2025, when my door is opened, a scary muscle young man hiding outside my door quickly pushed himself into my room (rm3301) at Grand Hyatt Xian, China. 2) because there is no security camera watching inside my room, and the intruder is asking money in threatening voices, I run out to the elevator lobby where security cameras is operating, with just a bathrobe, without underwear and room key card. 3) the intruder followed me into the elevator, and put his foot on the elevator door so the elevator door can not be closed, to stop me taking elevator down from 33 floor to lobby and demanding for money. 4) after being threatened several minutes, i finally came down to the lobby. I immediately ask hyatt staff at desk to call police to arrest the intruder, but to my surprise, the ladies refused to do so for me, and they told me that i must call police by myself, so I asked them to call security personnel and further to my surprise, they refused to do so either, saying hotel security personnel works for the hotel security only but not for helping me, even I told them my room number, my passport number and I am in a hotel bathrobe, very unfitting at hotel lobby. So The intruder walked out hotel without being even questioned. 5) after i insisted some more time, ladies at hotel desk gave in to my demand and made some phone calls, so a young man in security uniform eventually shown up at the desk of the hotel lobby. Now I told him and the hotel ladies at hotel desk what just happened, and ask them to look at the security camera footage to see how that young intruder can get elevator access to 33 floor and find out who issued access key card to him. 6) i further asked why no one come to help when security camera clearly show a) someone hiding outside my room (a security camera is watching at outside my room 3301); b) when elevator is jammed at 33 floor and security camera can clearly see someone is threatening me. They gave no answers 7) before i got a new key card and went back to my room, I told them to report to hotel management ASAP and to tell me their findings and give me an explanation on this terrifying incident ASAP. 8) later, I could not sleep at all that night because i worried someone may break into my room while I am sleeping,,, Summary: i believe the general manager of the hotel Mr.Gai knows what is going on and it trying to cover it up.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Grand Hyatt Xi'An in a Grand Club King Room. We went to Xi'An mainly to see the Terracotta Warriors. For us, we found this hotel was isolated from the main part of the town of Xi'An. We needed to take a taxi to get into the town centre. Apart from that, the room, the staff and the food were all at standard of what we would expect from the Grand Hyatt group. For us, the location wasn't the best.
