This place is NOT what it advertises. First, they claim to offer a continental-style "light breakfast." That would have been fine. However, that is not what was offered. Instead, there was a pot of coffee and some packets of instant grits.
There is absolutely no maid or housekeeping service whatsoever. Three days of wet towels because no one ever changed them, or made the bed. In fact, when we arrived in the room, someone's candy wrapper was still on the nightstand. I took a photo of it.
The website also failed to mention that it is adjacent to the train tracks, so all night long you get to hear trains go by (along with their whistles). This regularly recurring event shakes the floor and bed several times during the night.
The website also does not explain that the "Grand Ballroom" is across a very tiny courtyard from two of the rooms, so for two nights in a row we were forced to deal with noisy people partying and smoking in the courtyard, their shouts and cigarette smoke wafting up to our room. We couldn't sleep
until after midnight both nights.
Not once did we see any owner or manager. It's a shame that such a beautiful house is run by people who have no idea what hospitality means.
