Basildene Manor is undeniably a beautiful and serene retreat. The accommodation is well-maintained, and the rooms are tastefully decorated, offering a peaceful escape amidst picturesque surroundings. The gardens are stunning, and the overall ambiance is calm and relaxing – exactly what you’d hope for from a heritage-style escape in Margaret River.
However, the tranquility is somewhat marred by the intrusive and aggressive pitch for the Accor Vacation Club. What starts as a friendly conversation quickly reveals itself to be a high-pressure timeshare sales tactic. It feels completely out of place in such an otherwise elegant and relaxing environment. For guests simply looking to unwind, this can be a major turn-off.
Another drawback is the lack of standard room provisions, especially considering the premium price point. Essentials like a vanity kit, shower cap, and other small conveniences you’d expect from a luxury stay are noticeably absent. While the setting is undeniably lovely, these oversights do leave a bit to be desired in terms of value for money.
In short, Basildene Manor is a charming and peaceful property that unfortunately allows an aggressive marketing strategy to intrude on the guest experience – and at this price, you'd expect more thoughtful amenities and a completely pressure-free environment.
