This hotel is actually really nice for the price. The area that it’s in has a really close local market which was extremely wonderful to be able to eat and taste really cheap local cuisine. But the hotel itself was dated. And in need of renovation, the Staff for the most part were lovely. And helped you wear whenever they could. The food at the hotel was decent. And the pool was to standards. But the hotel itself especially corridors and rooms could do with some serious updating. As well as a major design floor is that especially if you’re staying in a suite. You will be receiving large gusts of wind channelling up the building. Which can keep you awake at night. But in conclusion especially for a longer period of time a good hotel.

We last stayed here in 2016 before the MRT line was open. We like the location in Katong as there are great shops and eating that has a more local feel. The welcome was lovely from Maria and she gave us a late checkout until 6pm as platinum members and we also enjoyed a free breakfast. The room upgrade was ok but it seemed just to be a higher floor without any kind of special view as we got before. The executive lounge is very average- not staffed and they don’t even do the evening drinks in there. A terrible limited selection of soft drinks and cookies. We get free entry as platinum members but I would be unhappy if I had paid for an executive room. They have also removed the free shuttle bus to and from the airport. A nuisance as the MRT direct to Changi is not open yet. ||The room was pleasant and fresh but the old style step in bath tub for a shower was not great. Bed was very comfy. Some noise from next doors loud TV late evening…||The pool is nice but most of the area was taken up with delegates from a swimming event…||A good stay overall but the bathroom needs a renovation and we might not bother coming back due to the lack of airport transfers and the poor executive lounge offer.

Overall, the hotel is good - clean, comfortable, and the room was nice. However, I faced a major issue with the broken plug holder in my room. It was not working, and I struggled a lot to charge my mobile and work on my laptop during my stay. This small detail made things quite inconvenient. If the management can fix such basic amenities, the experience would be much smoother

We had a great experience here. Loved that the Train and bus is at your doorstep to main attractions. Mall and food hall opposite has everything you need for your stay. Highly recommend this reasonably priced hotel! Lovely pool outdoors with plenty of seating and shade, shower rooms, water and ice dispensers were great for the hot weather. The Buffet restaurant had great seafood plus western and Asian selections, hot meats and several dishes, duck and roast meats, desserts, fresh fruits and icecream, coffee and juices all included with 40% off on Mon and Tues. Staff were super helpful, very polite and room was large and very quiet. Great hotel overall.

Gave me a complimentary upgrade to the higher floor with sea view access. Fantastic bed was very comfortable. Good sized rooms. Courteous and warm front desk staff. Well done!

Google
The hotel appears to be quite old, judging by the facilities and bathroom layout, but it is well maintained and clean. One issue I’d like to highlight is the discrepancy in the room size listed on the website. It states that the room is 32 square meters, but based on my own measurements, it’s actually around 25 to 26 square meters. In fact, all rooms seem to be roughly the same size, with no noticeable variation. The listed size may be misleading, and I hope the hotel can update this information to better reflect the actual dimensions and help guests set accurate expectations.

Room we stayed in was a bit tired and needed work. The towel hanger came apart with one touch. But you can't ignore the great location near the airport, mrt and parkway parade / hawker centre. Unfortunately they don't offer free shuttles to the airport anymore. We got late check out and it worked well

Yelp
I stayed at the Grand Mercure during the week of Christmas 2024. I had an amazing stay. Not sure if I've ever had a doorbell in a hotel room, but that was a cute touch. There's a slot by the door where you insert your room card and it turns on the lights and the TV as you enter. Likewise when you exit and remove the card, everything shuts off. Great feature! I had a very spacious king-size room on the fifteenth floor with a nice view of the ocean. There was a tub and shower. To have both is becoming rarer these days. The complimentary body wash, shampoo, and conditioner smelled great. The room had other amenities such as robes, slippers, iron/ironing board, coffee, tea, and a fridge. I never located an electrical outlet in the bathroom, so I couldn't use my electric shaver, and if I had one request, it would be that they install USB A and/or C ports (perhaps built into the lamps) so that travelers don't have to bother with getting converters. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay!

Yelp
It's very pricy! I recently stayed at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. Below were the key aspects of my stay. To be fare to the business, I had a video at https://youtu.be/bdRW8UTL-oE?t=33 Location: if you're interested in exploring the local culture and heritage, its location is excellent. There are plenty of charming shops, eateries, and food shops for local people within walking distance. Cost: it's very pricy. They charged USD$55.30 for a rollaway bed, on top of USD$229.48 a night. In addition, breakfast costs USD$29 per person. Accommodation: my room had a comfortable bed, modern amenities, and a nice view of the city, with complementary bottles of water. Service: their front desk was difficult to reach at night, especially for international calls.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel several times. It is close to the airport, Parkway Parade and many restaurants. The rooms are larger than most hotels in Asia. The housekeeping staff cleans daily. The restaurants have good food. We like the Breakfast buffet. The MRT is still under construction....that is a bummer. We like the pool and fitness center.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Singapore after several years, and I was here for a work related trip. Located in the Marine Parade district, the property is centrally located to nearby shops, and of course Singapore's famous hawker stalls. The hotel itself is clean and the rates are quite fair, compared to other hotels in Singapore. I was checked in by Joyce, a very friendly lady. She went through the rates, and processed the check in, to assignment me to room 629. My room consist of a king sized bed, with a suitable sized flat screen tv, nice small fridge, and vanity was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable, and because it was large, had plenty of room to spread around. The bathroom was nicely sized, with a clean sink area. The shower/tub combo was fine but one thing I wasn't too fond was the water pressure. Overall, room was clean and comfortable for a few days stay. I used the gym as well. The gym consisted of sufficient treadmills and elliptical machines. It was nice to have this access after fine dining in Singapore's hawker stalls! I also had access to the morning breakfast area. To my surprise, the food was quite delicious. I would stick to the Chinese dishes--the xiao mai, cha shu bao, and egg roles were good. If you get something to drink, stick with the coffee/espresso machine. The pineapple juice wasn't very good. Here's something to note: there are a ton or bus lines that leave the hotel bound for landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands, Sentosa Island, Merlion, etc. Be sure to purchase your tap card at a 7-11 prior to. Bus lines depart in front of the hotel. This would be a good choice hotel to stay in Singapore. Fair priced, overall cleanliness, and friendly staff makes this hotel highly satisfactory. Overall grade: A-

Yelp
I tried the Singapore Laksa with Lobster for in-room dinning. The taste is good. But maybe it's too creamy. As for myself, I prefer the Thai Tom Yum taste to creamy laksa.

Yelp
This area is conveniently located right next to a shopping mall. It is also close to a couple hawker stalls, a Koi milk tea, and a fair price supermarket. The MRT is not walking distance but they provide a shuttle service in the morning to get there. Our room was very nice and clean. They had robes and slippers! The bathroom had a window so you can watch tv when you're taking a bath or someone can watch you. ;)

Yelp
Stayed here for 1 night over the weekend a few months ago - and had a great time. I was impressed with the interior of the hotel. The Lobby and the Lift Area, plus the corridors leading to our room was pretty nice and clean. What I Love: The room was simple and nice. Bed was huge, decor is very modern-classic and simple. TV was new, and there was a nice long window on one side of the wall - so the view outside was pretty okay. It's connected to Parkway Parade - so you have a slew of shops, and stuff connected to the hotel. The body wash, soap, shampoo, etc. that they gave were very impressive actually. Specially packaged and smelt really good. What I Don't Love: The shower and restroom. It was very generic. Nothing too exciting. It was very, very, very clean though. I guess, I just like plush!

Yelp
We arrived in Singapore two days prior to our cruise sailing in SE Asia, and returned for two days after completing our cruise. We stayed at the Grand Mercure on each side of our cruise. Most people would probably want to be where more of the action is near city center. However, we chose this for price and convenience to the airport. We were so happy that they offer 1/2 hour and 1 hour free shuttles from the terminals at Changi Airport. This does not seem to be a common practice for hotels in Singapore. In addition, the shuttle will take you to the closest MRT station, but after talking to the Concierge, we could easily take the bus to almost everywhere. The bus stops right out front and they provided bus and MRT numbers for us. Our room was spacious and comfortable and water, tea and coffee were provided in our room. The mini fridge was nice for drinks which we purchased at the grocery store about one block away. The 7-11 is right across the street. The fitness room, pool and wifi were very good. They also had a room safe and ironing equipment and a hair dryer. We paid for the morning buffet breakfast which was good. I had cappuccino every morning with my breakfast along with fresh juices, fruit omelet and various pastries. The hotel was reasonable compared to others and I think we were more in favor of using the bus and MRT to get to where we wanted to go rather than paying double to be close to city center. I definitely recommend the hotel and would come to stay again. Everyone was friendly and helpful at the hotel. The only thing we didn't know about was that if you have the hotel arrange for a cab, they will tack on a service charge of about $8USD. This was not necessary as the cabs queue right at the hotel. Check the various websites for pricing. We got a good deal and booked several weeks before our arrival.
