Grand Mosque of Dakar

A big mosque, with a North african style in Dakar, for me it has a lot of Moroccan architectural aspects. Like all mosques you can't enter if you are not a Muslim, but still merits a visit

Very beautiful mosque located in the center of Dakar

Pretty from the outside, arrived before 10 pm but it seemed close. Walked around the fence.

5 stars, it's the biggest mosque i've ever went to and on top it is very peaceful, focus is very easy when praying 🙏🏾

Horrendous surroundings full of dirty aggressive thuggish men. I wanted to just see it from afar (and noticed there were MEN tourists wearing shorts within the confines of the gates, but because I was visibly foreign and a woman some dirty thugs did not let me take pictures from outside the gates. Disgusting behavior.

For tourists: not worth seeing. Can’t judge from a religious perspective.

The Grand Mosque of Dakar seemed to be closed when I was there, so I didn't get the chance to go inside. It was quite lively, but outside, there were dozens of beggars and homeless people.
