The Grand National Hotel by Saint Peter

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Grand National Hotel in Sydney. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—every staff member went above and beyond and truly made our day. The food was incredible, and even their selection of snacks had such impressive flavor and quality. The décor throughout the hotel is stunning, creating a welcoming and stylish atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable. Also highly recommended their breakfast, their breakfast is highly recommended—every dish was incredibly delicious, beautifully presented, and wonderfully creative. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning on our next visit to Sydney. A huge thank-you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable🫶🏻

I stayed at The Grand National Hotel by Saint Peter by myself the day before my wedding. I’ve stayed at boutique and chain hotels all over the world and this was by far the best. The rooms, restaurant menu, snacks and service were incredible. The welcome snack made by the Saint Peter kitchen was obviously 10/10 and I thought the range of premium Australian-made snacks and beverages was a great touch. The staff were all great from front desk to the restaurant staff. Everything I asked for was accommodated. A special shoutout to Chris, the Hotel Manager. He made me feel incredibly well looked after all weekend, was very flexible and even allowed my groomsman to hangout in the bar and one of the rooms in the morning for some wedding photos. Nothing I asked for seemed like an inconvenience. The location is obviously great too, being in the heart of Paddington and surrounded by market-leading restaurants and coffee shops. If you’re looking for a way to treat yourself or a romantic inner city getaway, I would strongly recommend this place. PS. You’ll see that The Grand National Hotel has only got 5 star reviews since the refurb and takeover by the Nilands in 2022.

The room décor was truly tasteful. The mini bar with snacks, and the arrival canapés were delightful and thoughtfully curated. Wonderful service !! both the hotel and restaurant staff were consistently warm and attentive, making the entire stay feel genuinely welcoming. Breakfast and the seafood served at the bar was fresh and beautifully prepared. Our only regrets were not making a dinner reservation ahead of time, as the restaurant was extremely popular; and booking an accessible room, as the bathroom was not an ideal setting for guests without accessibility needs. Overall, a wonderful experience with outstanding service !!

From the moment we walked through the hotel door we knew we'd chosen a special place for our 25th wedding anniversary. It puts the bougie in boutique but in a sophisticated and intimate manner. The room is beautiful from the artwork to the carpet. The bed luxurious. The mini bar generous and considered. The bath heavenly. Attention to detail and quality at every turn. Dinner at Saint Peter is an unforgettable experience. Breakfast the following morning delightful from the welcoming staff to those madeleines and that cream. My husband would have liked a bucket of it! Upon checking out we felt like we'd spent a long weekend. We will return to the Grand National next time we need a luxurious staycation.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay and will do again. The area is fantastic in the heart of the eastern suburbs and close to the beaches and Centennial Park. Coffee shops, cafes and dinning options are abundant, go there hungry so you are ready for a festival of amazing food culture. We had 2 fabulous breakfasts at the hotel - we knew the food was extraordinary - we didn't appreciate how next level it would be! Our room had a balcony and a view across the roof tops with gorgeous appointments and very comfortable bed. What ever you need just ask and it shall be done. Bathroom size generous, a beautiful feel, amazing tub for a soak, shower seperate. A very gently scented room to be relaxing in. A welcome evening drink and delicious snack -more like entree in its portion, was sublime - flavours so well balanced just what the doctor ordered ! You need more time really to use the facilities and explore the area. Two nights is not enough! Our main dinner was in the Saint Peter Dining Room. Each staff member is so well trained and delightful, the degustation menu is truly an event of epic proportions. We loved the theatre of it and admired the alchemy. What an achievement that this is being done here, in Australia. Big congratulations to Josh and Julie for their incredibly hard work, creating a team with care and thought and producing a product that is just fantastic on all fronts. I loved the thoughtful elements of the space right down to the crockery . Everything and everyone feels generous. The experience will stay with me forever and we will certainly go back again to stay!

We are going to struggle staying at any other hotel after experiencing The Grand National, the rooms are opulent yet inviting with every amenity you could ask for. From the complimentary and stunning tuna tartare on fermented rice cracker when you arrive in your room to the three course breakfast including a divine marron scrambled eggs in the morning. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Do yourself a favour and dine at St Peter, you can see why it’s been rated the best restaurant in Australia and one of the best restaurants in the world - an unforgettable, exquisite experience

Everything about this hotel is top quality. Chris welcomed us and took us up to our room. Our bed was huge and the white linen was thick and cool and fresh. The pillows were thick and fluffy and so was the doona. The toilet paper was 3 ply and the shampoo and conditioner actually was good for my hair! There were bathrobes and free snacks and drinks in the mini bar. We got a chefs taster as a welcome snack - just the beginning of the most delicately and deliciously constructed food we were to enjoy at the chefs table that night and for breakfast the next morning. Having access to the chef as we ate our 11 course degustation menu was educational, welcoming, friendly. Then for breakfast we had a three course meal of fruit and ricotta with granola, a Marron tail with scrambled eggs on sourdough and then a beautiful prism of golden banana bread! Our stomachs ached we were so full, but there was no way we were going to miss any of this delicious food. The service, the amenities, the food, the way the people made us feel cared about and welcomed made this an exceptional experience that we will remember for life.

We had a lovely stay for our 10th-anniversary, with the staff being very welcoming and helping to make it feel like a special occasion. The rooms are cosy and very quiet and comfortable. The amenities are high quality and generously provided. We dined at Saint Peter below, which was its own magic experience, and would happily recommend the dine and stay combination. Breakfast was as good as everyone says!
