Grand Park Royal Cozumel

Room was great but had to negotiate for an open view. 9th floor was great.|Had to ask for coffe pods every day.|Room was clean and other amenities provided daily.|The food was hit and miss|Seafood restaurant was very bad, over cooked everything, mushy shrimp, watery clam chowder. We tried twice, then they shut it down for the rest of our stay. Hmmm|Hamburgers by the pool were good with fresh fruit and toppings, though I thing the staff was tired of it. Not unfriendly but no chance of a smile either.|The buffet for breakfast had good made to order omelets and a variety of breads, cheese and fruits.|2 other restaurants were fair, not like we have had there before. Also not nearly the quality as we had right outside the doors on the economy. |Disappointing that our choices were to eat bad, or okay food we paid for with the package or go out. When you're on vacation by the ocean and love seafood what would you do?|Also had to be there when they opened at 6 to avoid hour(s) waiting for a table.|At that time, the sun sets at 6:30 so it was not possible to do both. Choices. |We don't drink much but found the only sure way not to have a watery drink was to have wine or beer.|Overall we will not be staying there again or recommending this resort.|The ocean beach was a nice 80°F but the 3 pools were too cold to use, but it was January and the average temperature was 81°F, still its a winter adventure in Cozumel!|This was our 3rd stay and was the worst.

Positive: Concierge staff and front desk staff were all so amazing! Some of the friendliest people we've ever encountered on vacation. Negative: Room just needed a little updating. Extremely poor lighting in bathroom area. Door wouldn't close properly without assistance. Even for the room service staff. The walls are all blank but with nails as if there should be some decor, drawer knobs missing.

This is a fairly small resort that feels like home. It's not over crowded, the staff is absolutely fantastic. The lady that cleaned our room (Maribel) did a fun surprise for the kids by arranging the kids teddy bear and baloons we had in the room. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Lots of food options including Italian, Mexican and buffet for dinner and fresh seafood for lunch. There is a Caffe that offers ice cream as well as coffee, cappuccinos and other caffeinated beverages, as well as sandwiches and pastries. The resort also does special events with fresh fish, or tacos almost every day. Beach was small and a bit rocky, but there was so much fish, and it's protected from the waves so it's safe to swim even on waiwy days. The entertainment team was really fun, especially Edgar who would stop and join the kids in the game of chess. He always went above and beyond. The resort has local vibes with a lot of the guests being from Mexico. The resort is only 10 min ride to town, where you can walk around the tourist parts or get I to the local shops and restaurants for more authentic experience and great Mexican food . This is our second time Grand Park, and most likely not the last.

Pros: Room: Superior Ocean View King Double Room was A Superior Room. Room Number 2019 is Best in the Hotel on Top Floor with Panoramic Views of Ocean and Majestic Cruise Ships docked at the International Cruise Port. Tip: Rooms below 5th Floor cannot see the ocean but can see beautiful lush gardens and palms. Food: Really Good Breakfast, Seafood Restaurant on the beach open 1pm-4pm serves Clams Chowder, Fish of the Day, Giant Grilled Shrimp, Fish or Shrimp Tacos. Dinner was great with a variety of great tasting foods. Temperatures of food sometimes cold. Italian Restaurant available by reservation was Not Good. Go into town for Real Italian Food @ GUIDOS Italian Restaurant or Woodys Bar on the Town Square. Entertainment was very nice and lots of scheduled activities throughout the day. Con’s: Swimming Pools not kept clean. Always with leaves and sand. Hot Tub Did Not Work and was dirty, dingy and not maintained. Really Disappointing as Hot Tub was primary draw for staying at the hotel. Overall a Beautiful Hotel Resort with lots of Palm Trees and Waterfalls. Highly Recommend and Will be Coming Back.

This place is actually great. I’ve done my fair share of all inclusive and there isn’t many place that I would go back. This place is one of the place I would come back Pros: let’s start with room service 24 hours a day, how cool is that? Then confort, the rooms and the beach chairs are amazing, lots of pillows the way I like it. Staff is friendly and happy to be there. It’s clean, room service is on point. Wifi works like a charm. Shower is hot and strong pressure. Best filet mignon ever at the pescados restaurant. Elevators everywhere. There is a safe. Location is amazing, you can walk to town. Cons: the fridge is the room isn’t stocked very well. We are on day 3 of our trip and only had 2 beers (and other non alcoholic beverages). The beach is very small so it feels up very fast. The restaurants à la carte are first come first serve, so you can wait 2 hours for the Italian which is the most popular (not worth it)

The funtastic team are awesome! Edgar, Quenan and Danny, thanks for the good laugh I had with you guys! They are very dynamic and make you feel like home. Had a very good welcoming by Christopher at front desk. The beds are very confortable and the service is awesome ☀️ A grand thank you to Joyser, Gil and Damian at the beach bar, so thoughtful and good company! Had a great service by Jorge at the morning restaurant! The only thing that need improvement is the food, i didn't enjoy it. Felt like going outside the resort to eat. Otherwise, I had fun and enjoyed the sunsets. You have to know that sometimes the cruiseships Block the view.

Resort is old and tired looking, with very uneven walkways & a very small 'beach' area. The buffet food was not good, the Italian restaurant was great one night, not so great a second night. The Mexican restaurant had bugs flying all over and on the desserts that were out for guests to help themselves. Staff didn't really seem to care too much about that when we told them. The snack bar with burgers/hot dogs/pizza/fries was not good either, soggy, cold fries and pizza. The entertainment was terrible. Some of the bartenders at the pool were nice and friendly and made good drinks. The a/c in our room was very loud. Would not go back.

I stayed here recently and I have a few things to point out as someone who holds their food and safety and food handling certificate as well as someone who works in the same hospitality industry. 2 out of 10 people tip the wait staff/bartenders, this creates a huge level of animosity from staff to guests as they are trying to make a living while serving people who can afford $400-$600 a night, the same guests who apparently can’t afford to tip $2 for service. I feel bad for the staff who are not making my extra cash as other counterparts at similar resorts. Grand park should be encouraging tipping as an optional or appreciated add on during their check in process I guarantee staff would be alot more happy. As someone who has run large scale food productions I CANT understand how 9/10 dishes are served cold or warm at every single restaurant and buffet As a large corporation Grand Park should be extremely concerned about their lack of food and safety procedures like none of the food being kept or served at safe temperatures. I see complaints about this from years back it’s ultimately up to management to address this issue not the workers. so why don’t you care as a corporation to fix the problem? Joyser was one of the best servers I’ve ever had, he was up and down the pool areas providing top notch service. He is amazing! Quenan was a lovely addition to the entertainment team, he is so much fun! The short haired lady who does photography and speaks Spanish was extremely nice and very funny. Aldo was pushy with time share add ons, if we weren’t investing in the timeshare there was no help or extremely expensive help offered The ladies at the Italian restaurant checked in on me when I dined alone to make sure I was safe this was a wonderful reminder that the staff care about the safety of women on the resort. All in all I would not stay here again unless the food safety issues were addressed, time share wasn’t such a huge push, activities were actually scheduled when they said they were and the jacuzzis they offered online were actual heated tubs. Visiting in peak season for Canadians and entering freezing cold pools, all five of them was pretty disappointing. There is a lot of potential but it’s up to the corporation to care about euro staff and guests!
