We would have loved to give it 5 stars, but since this is an honest review, we can't. We have traveled the world, stayed in countless 5-star hotels, and visited nearly every country, we expect top-tier service when booking a 5-star property, nothing less.||We’ve never left a hotel review before, but this stay was a bittersweet mix of excellence and disappointment. Take our opinion with a grain of salt, we’re picky, and might help you if you value high standards and ethics.||||STAFF REVIEW:||Julio, the valet, and Martin at reception were absolute professionals. Their charisma and attention to detail made our stay pleasant. Oscar, the pianist who plays every Saturday evening, added a lovely, elegant touch.||Jean however, also at reception, came off as arrogant and misinformed us more than once, not what you'd expect at a 5-star hotel. He could learn a lot from Martin.||Housekeeping staff and their manager went above and beyond, especially in correcting serious oversights. (As Doctors our tip for anyone reading: always check razors and toothbrushes at whichever hotel to make sure they’re sealed and not left behind from previous people in the room as it’s a health hazard).||||RESTAURANT REVIEW:||Breakfast was good. However, the rest of the menu was underwhelming. An Italian restaurant with barely any pasta was disappointing. Room service also felt inconsistent, with some awkward experiences.||||HOTEL & ROOM:||The architecture of the hotel and room comfort were excellent. Air conditioning was clean and effective even during hot summer days.||The major downside was the spa. We booked months ahead for that reason but were told just two weeks before arrival it was under renovation. A single Caldea Spa ticket was offered as compensation supposedly the biggest in Andorra. Honestly, our home sauna is bigger.||We're originally from the country that invented saunas, so it's hard to impress us 😊.||||LOCATION:||Great central location. However, avoid the “CityCenter” supermarket across the street. We usually enjoy local experience and after buying a water bottle, we were asked to have our backpack checked, which felt insulting. Little did they know we are rich enough to buy the store itself and fire them 😄. While apparently common in Andorra, this practice felt out of place for a country we thought was an upscale destination.||Also worth noting: Andorra smokes like a chimney. Smoke-free zones are practically nonexistent, including around the hotel; expect second-hand smoke everywhere 😔
