Hotel Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi, a Design Boutique Hotel Baja Sardinia, Italy

"Set in one of the most beautiful and tranquil areas of Baja Sardinia, the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi boasts a panoramic view over the whole Archipelago of Maddalena and the Gulf of Arzachena. Spend your days relaxing by the swimming pool, or venture further afield to take part in a variety of sports, such as tennis, sailing and windsurfing. At night the village turns into something extraordinary: bars and clubs open until dawn, open-air markets where you can find anything from the most bizarre trinkets to the most traditional local crafts are weaved throughout the town square, where you can enjoy music, dancing and all kinds of shows. Completely immersed in the greenery of the typical Mediterranean scrub, amongst ancient junipers and pink granite rocks, the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi offers an oasis of tranquillity, just a few steps away from a number of little beaches." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and had a tour of the hotel and room facilities which was very informative. Great to have full control of the air-conditioning - we had a comfortable room (junior suite with garden space). Everything is spotlessly clean. Reception team very helpful, offering assistance and advice for trips and arranging taxis. Nice beach area with cabanas and loungers on the terraced area by a small sandy cove. The sea has some rocks near the shore but still ok for a dip. Waiting staff provide calm service and the food for all meals was wonderful. The dinner menu changes daily and there is also an alternative 'Italian classics' menu (choices from both are allowed). Lovely pool area and terrace bar - we saw some lovely sunsets. Very much suited us as a couple wanting a relaxing holiday. With a car there are other beaches, small towns and countryside to explore, as well as being close to a number of places where boats can be hired if you want to visit The Maddalena archipelago.

We stayed at the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi the first week of September.||The welcome on arrival from Valentina was excellent. We arrived in the morning before official check in but our suite was ready for us straight away, not only that but we were given an upgrade to a suite with private garden. The suite was comfortable and spacious as were the terrace and garden which included sun loungers in addition to the table and chairs.||The location was excellent within a 15 minute walk to the main Piazza ( which is a bit of a hilly walk … certainly builds up your calf muscles) ||We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was very comprehensive with a wide choice of continental breakfast, healthy options , variety of styles of eggs and cooked breakfast from the menu … oh and of course not forgetting the Prosecco! ||We did not eat lunch at the restaurant, but the dinner menu was superb as was the food. All of the restaurant staff were amazing, attentive without being intrusive.||Cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent with bedding and towels changed daily. All the staff in all areas of the hotel were professional and friendly.||Valentina also assisted us with excursion advise and arranged it all for us, excellent recommendations. ||The pool area was lovely and never too busy, as was the private beach, great location and very relaxing. Towels are provided. You do need some kind of sea shoes as it’s a bit rocky in the water. The bar staff at the beach were also very friendly and provided a great service. In summary an amazing place to stay with amazing people looking after you! Grazie Mille

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Gran Relais dei Nuraghi. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The room was exactly as we had hoped, spacious and comfortable, with a stunning sea view that made our stay even more special. One of the small touches that stood out was how often the towels were changed—twice a day—making everything feel fresh and cared for. Whenever we needed anything, the team were quick to assist, and always with a smile. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was quiet, calm, and perfect for unwinding. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. If we return to the island in the future, Gran Relais dei Nuraghi will definitely be our first choice.

An incredible hotel . The gardens are so beautiful and the service and staff are exceptional. If you need them to arrange a restaurant or book anything for you all you have to do is send reception a message via what’s app and they respond straight away. The restaurant was also excellent and the service was at the highest level. There was a duet who sang in the bar every night and they were also great. We were upgraded to a garden suite which was so beautiful and private. It is definitely an adults only resort and a romantic place . The location is perfect and it is a 10 minute walk into the local piazza where there are a large number of restaurants to choose from and at night there is a lot of activity which is fun and all the shops are open. We loved it here and were sad to leave.

Our fifth visit. We love this hotel. In a fabulous position with spectacular views from the terrace and restaurant. The staff are an absolute delight and are always friendly and helpful. The food is good and there is a very good wine list with many local wines.||The small beaches at Tre Monte are a short stroll away and are an ideal place to while away a few peaceful hours. The cabanas at the Hotel's private beach are extremely comfortable and a perfect place to lie in the sun and enjoy the fabulous views with the beach bar close to hand.||Once again, the perfect holiday.

Grand Relais dei Nuraghi is perfect for a relaxing holiday on the North Sardinian coast. It is a small, friendly hotel with just 34 rooms so you quickly get to know the staff and other guests. ||We had a garden room close to the pool area which was very spacious inside albeit in a rustic style but very clean. The air conditioning was excellent and proved very useful to cool down in the heat. The outside area is superb with a completely private garden with comfortable seating and loungers plus a parasol. Perfect for afternoon drinks with friends. The cupboard space inside is limited but ok for a week’s stay. ||The pool area is a bit stark and the pool depth is 1.4M throughout. There is no shallower area. The pool depth is great for swimmers but not if you are nervous in water or just want a paddle. However, there are plenty of comfortable sunbeds and there was never a problem finding a suitable spot to sunbathe.||The private beach is superb with comfortable beds and cabanas. It is only a short 5 minute walk from the hotel and WiFi coverage is good. There is a good clean toilet and a bar for drinks. The only issue is that the sea is full of rocks so swimming was too dangerous. Even a paddle is precarious. There is another public beach slightly further away which is suitable for swimming but there are no loungers.||The food in the restaurant is superb but don’t expect pizza or burgers. It is good Italian food with an appetizer, starter, pasta course , main and dessert. Each course has a fish, meat and veggie option. Petit Fours are served after dessert as well. We found the portions quite big for our appetites but learned to ask for smaller portions so that we didn’t waste food. The staff were very friendly and the meal becomes a full evening. Afterwards there was some low key music with a lovely duo playing guitar and singing contemporary songs. A lovely end to the night. The night usually ended shortly after 11pm so don’t expect to be partying into the early hours. ||The distance to the resort of Baja Sardinia is about 1K and it is a hilly walk along a road. For us, this was a downside as it was a tough walk in the heat. There are other hotels nearby and a restaurant about half a mile away but it was always empty when we walked by. The nearest supermarket is 1 mile away, again along a hilly road, and again a downside. Baja Sardinia itself is small with a handful of bars and restaurants but very picturesque and not too expensive.|We took a taxi to Porto Cervo which is about 10k away and costs 45 euros each way. There is also a bus service but this is limited. Porto Cervo is worth a visit to see the millionaires yachts and designer shops but it is very pricey. A couple of hours at most is all you need.||I enjoy an early morning run but the options are quite limited and you can’t avoid the hills. I managed a 5 mile run each morning but had to head away from the coast in order to stay on a footpath. Don’t make this an excuse not to run though.||On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look back in fondness at our time there. We think that the price of the rooms is quite high and this would make us think twice about returning.

Very serene and secluded boutique hotel. Lovely staff, great rooms, lots of greenery. Great breakfast buffet, free parking onsite. Only small critique: lots of ways and stairs to walk from rooms to breakfast and pool area - not suitable for people with limited mobility.

This is the perfect place to stay for a trip to Sardinia. The location is perfect with access to many beaches. It also is next to phi beach so you can walk for a night out there. It’s also close to La Terraze, which we highly recommend going to. The food is very good and staff is very nice. It’s reasonably priced. When I come back to Sardinia I will be staying here again.
