Hotel Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi, a Design Boutique Hotel Baja Sardinia, Italy

"Set in one of the most beautiful and tranquil areas of Baja Sardinia, the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi boasts a panoramic view over the whole Archipelago of Maddalena and the Gulf of Arzachena. Spend your days relaxing by the swimming pool, or venture further afield to take part in a variety of sports, such as tennis, sailing and windsurfing. At night the village turns into something extraordinary: bars and clubs open until dawn, open-air markets where you can find anything from the most bizarre trinkets to the most traditional local crafts are weaved throughout the town square, where you can enjoy music, dancing and all kinds of shows. Completely immersed in the greenery of the typical Mediterranean scrub, amongst ancient junipers and pink granite rocks, the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi offers an oasis of tranquillity, just a few steps away from a number of little beaches." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and had a tour of the hotel and room facilities which was very informative. Great to have full control of the air-conditioning - we had a comfortable room (junior suite with garden space). Everything is spotlessly clean. Reception team very helpful, offering assistance and advice for trips and arranging taxis. Nice beach area with cabanas and loungers on the terraced area by a small sandy cove. The sea has some rocks near the shore but still ok for a dip. Waiting staff provide calm service and the food for all meals was wonderful. The dinner menu changes daily and there is also an alternative 'Italian classics' menu (choices from both are allowed). Lovely pool area and terrace bar - we saw some lovely sunsets. Very much suited us as a couple wanting a relaxing holiday. With a car there are other beaches, small towns and countryside to explore, as well as being close to a number of places where boats can be hired if you want to visit The Maddalena archipelago.

A lovely hotel set in its own gardens. All the staff were fantastic and always very helpful. Our room was really nice and had a lovely outside space. The hotel I would describe as probably boutique and not the high rise hotel some people might like. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The pool was about the right size for the hotel and there wasn't a rush for sunbeds which we really liked. In high season Phi Park could be a problem for noise, thankfully it was closed for the season while we were there. It's about 15/20 minute walk to the central area with bars and restaurants. Although a very nice restaurant (Italian)can be found on the way into the central area. We didn't mind the walk in /out of centre but others may find it difficult with the walk. The hotel is very clean and all the staff take pride in their work. The hotel has its own beach which we didn't use due to staying around the pool area. We had a lunch time meal while we were at the hotel, it was very tasty. If going back to Sardinia we'd definitely stay at the same resort and hotel. A big thank you to all the staff for your hard work to give guests a lovely time whilst staying at the hotel.

This was our 1st hotel of 2 when visiting the Costa Smeralda, we arrived late afternoon to a humble , small reception area with a warm welcome. |The hotel is immaculate & well kept. We were upgraded to a sea view room with a bottle of fizz on arrival (not sure if the bubbles are standard) |The breakfast was excellent; buffet with à la carte options. There is an all day dining menu which is available everywhere (beach/pool) but for us it could do with some more casual dining options (sandwiches & salads) albeit the lobster linguine was lovely. |Dinner in the restaurant is formal, verging on fine dining, the service was faultless & the food was delicious. We regretted only eating in once. There are of course alt dining options in the local town, some of which we were a very similar price to the hotel restaurant & not as good. |The beach area is tiny but private so never felt busy, the local beach nightclub next to isola Dei Nuraghi was closed so we weren’t bothered by the music guests often complain about in high season. |Overall, we loved it hear, proper old school charm, boutique, spacious & very relaxing. |Would return & recommend if you like boutique hotels.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Gran Relais dei Nuraghi. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The room was exactly as we had hoped, spacious and comfortable, with a stunning sea view that made our stay even more special. One of the small touches that stood out was how often the towels were changed—twice a day—making everything feel fresh and cared for. Whenever we needed anything, the team were quick to assist, and always with a smile. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was quiet, calm, and perfect for unwinding. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. If we return to the island in the future, Gran Relais dei Nuraghi will definitely be our first choice.

The hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean, staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Liked how the rooms were set in the grounds. Only a 8 min walk to the town centre with lots of choice of restaurants. Some small lovely beaches a short distance walk from the hotel. ||I’d recommend staying here.

While we stayed near the end of the season, the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are nearly all suites in the grounds, all with their private patios or balconies. The hotel's restaurant is exceptional, so much so that we ate there four nights out of seven. The maitre d' Ernesto is a credit to the hotel.||||Residents enjoy access to a small but delightful private beach with its own beach bar. An outdoor nightclub, Phi Beach is nearby, but this closed for the summer several weeks before our visit - so no thumping music to disturb our sleep!

Very serene and secluded boutique hotel. Lovely staff, great rooms, lots of greenery. Great breakfast buffet, free parking onsite. Only small critique: lots of ways and stairs to walk from rooms to breakfast and pool area - not suitable for people with limited mobility.
